Saundra, I am going through the same thing! I'm struggling to find food to eat that doesn't cause me to PB. Then I'm suppose to get another fill on Thursday. I'm a little afraid. I don't want them to take any fluid out, but I kind of wonder if it wouldn't be better to do that than to put any more in the band. I take one or two bites and I'm in pain in the bathroom. It's getting very old, almost get anxiety before I eat. Not a good thing. When is your next fill?

Oh yea I can understand not wanting to eat the potatoe. I have that same issue. But they said to do it until I feel comfortable but try not to stay on the mushies since they are ususally unhealthy. It also has to do with what time of day you are eating. I can not eat anything in the morning. I have paid for it! Very scary. But lesson learned! :sneaky: Isn't is great not feeling hungry though? Definitely a change, but not a bad one Yea sometimes the site will email and sometimes it won't. Finicky lil thing haha Well good luck and let me know how things go!

Saundra-A lot of it is the swelling. I tried noodle soup too and it was uncomfortable. I'm still have trouble with getting regular food down. I did liquids for two days and then mushies for a week, but honestly it was about 4 days before I could really get mushies down. I was super concerned like you. It has gotten better and that's pretty much the only reason why I haven't gone back to the Dr. I know I see him again Apr 2nd for my 2nd fill. I keep wondering if I even need the 2nd fill this soon LOL I'd say if you couldn't get mushies down in 4-5 days to give your Dr. a call just to confirm that this is how you are feeling. Or if you are paranoid like me just call now and confirm. Better to know than to wonder! Good luck!!!

Hey all! So I received my first fill last Thursday the 5th. They pulled quite a bit of fluid from my seroma so that feels a little better. They added 1.5ccs to my band for a total of 3ccs. I am starting to think that it might be too much. I can get liquids down alright, not the greatest, but mushy food is almost impossible. I did mushy mac n cheese and even that hurt. I'm only suppose to be on mushies until Thursday since they aren't that healthy, however I can't imagine eating food at this rate. I've actually had PB happen a couple of times and it was not good  So I'm going to give it until the end of the week and then I'm going to call if I'm not at least able to get some mashed potatoes down haha This fille is pretty tough since I was used to eating real food. Now I'm starving and can barely get anything down, but I'm adjusting..stomach is shrinking again!

Anyone have a seroma at the port site?
illinigrl83 replied to toqu's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So I went in last week because I was having intense pain after walking for long periods of time. The pain was right where my port was. So I called and they kept telling me it was suppose to be the size of a marble. I said well it's about the size of my palm LOL So they had me come in and the PA is pretty sure it's seroma. She said she won't be sure that my port hasn't flipped until they do the fill on March 5th. She said they never do anything about the seroma until the fill just for fear of causing an infection. Right now it's not red, my incisions aren't red or anything. Everything else is fine, just a nice size bulge on my left side and every now and then excrusiating pain. Like just a few minutes ago, I went to shut a door but it was being resistant..yup caused me to grab my side and for tears to well up in my eyes..granted I had been in pain all day just from walking too much, but still very annoying. I hope everyone starts feeling better soon. I know I'd be great if it wasn't for this stupid bulge LOL -
Hey all! I know I haven't posted in awhile, but things seem to be going really great this way. I'm still losing weight, not as rapidly and that's without restrictions so pretty exciting. I think a lot of it has to do with how badly I want it. I hated the mushy stage because all I felt like I was eating was bad stuff, which my dietician said would happen. Once I started eating regular food, well as regular as it's going to get I needed to start looking at things more closely. Which is what I've been doing. It's really kind of interesting. Cereal has been the most facinating for me. Just because the name sounds healthy doesn't mean it is LOL I did have an issue on Thursday. I noticed I have a palm size knot on my left side where my port is. I called them and they wanted me to come in for an exam. She said she thought I had seroma (fluid around my port). They don't do anything about it until the time of my first fill due to the risk of infection. There's also the possibility that my port has flipped, but they won't know until the fill. So it's a waiting game, but I was glad I went in. I felt like I was imagining things. I think I tend to be a hypochondriac haha but the PA was glad I came in because they need to know about those things. It's painful if I do too much, like shopping but otherwise I'm good. Little personal note- I started dating a new guy recently. He finds me sexy now, but is really excited and encouraging for the future

Sharons-thanks for comments. I was afraid I was being paranoid, but then I read your comments and figured I might as well call my Dr. I am feeling a lot better. I've had a little applesauce. That was a nice change of pace. It seems like most are starting to feel better which is great. Keep up the good work!

Hi all! It's been a few days since I've posted. Wednesday my Dr. made me to go to my local hospital to received IV fluids. I was so dehydrated that it took 12 needles sticks to get a vein to hold and not blow. An hour and a half later they were able to start the fluids. I felt decently better, but I was still have problems getting fluids down on my own. So the next mornng I was told to check in with my Dr. and if I wasn't 100% better they wanted me to take the hour drive to his office and visit his associate. So I had my mother drive me over there. At first he seemed really nice. He had me lay down so he could see if he could reach my port to possibly remove fluid in the band. I have to say him pressing hard on my two inciisions was excrusiating and still hurts today ...meany! lol He said I was too swollen and wanted to stop at their local hospital and have an upper GI. So I started drinking the barium and watced it go right down without any problems. I sipped since that's what my paperwork said, but he made me chug the glass. Then made me chug a whole glass of water. I was very confused by this and confused why at that point it wasn't hurting me. He said the swelling must have gone down and I seemed fine. Told me to go to the mall and walk and when I fell 100% better to start eating....this goes against all the paperwork I have and what my Dr./nurtrionist have said. So I don't know about the conflicting instructions, but it was great being able to see the liquid go through my lapband. Things are starting to look up And I was shocked when I got on their scale..26lbs! I'm bound to gain some back when I start eating, but very encouraging! Hope everyone starts feeling better soon!

Well my soreness is getting better, thankfully. The gas is not really subsiding though. I still am not gettig all the fluids I need. I kind of wonder if that is why I am feeling so bad. I feel almost flu like. Just tired, achy, dizzy, etc. I finally stopped taking the liquid Loratab. It helped with my pain and put me to sleep, but I'm off of that now and take liquid Tylenol as needed. I don't see my Dr. until Monday, which seems soooo far away. I called today to see if there was anything I could do about the fact I wasn't getting enough to drink. The nutrisionist is suppose to call me tomorrow. The recommended drinking room temp. liquids. Some people have problems with the cold. I too have the thightness so that must be the sign we are suppose to look for. I can get up and walk around alriht, slow, but decent, my issue really is just feel like pooh. So dizzy all the time. I kind of wonder if I'm not dehydrated and that's what's causing that. I hope things get better, I'm starting to feel frustrated and am tired of feeling sick

I have to say the 23rd was a nerve racking day, but it's done! :w00t: I feel like I've done a million sit ups haha I do have gas and I bought the gasx strips, but I'm just hoping it will go away on it's own. I am having trouble getting my 60oz down, but I'm working on it. Tomorow I can start my protein shakes again. Hopefully I'll be able to get more donw. Just taking things slow. I also had my gall bladder taken out so that might be why I'm in a little more pain. My Dr. said I had huge stones and that's what took so long. My gall bladder was really big I guess and a pain to get out..go figure haha Well hope everyone is doing great!!!
