    I have lost motivation

    I love this. I have lost motivation as well. I have gained 12 lb back and keep making excuesses. It sounds like you may be doing the same. I guess I should be looking in the mirror saying this, but she is right you just HAVE to do it. I don't want to go to work everyday, but I do because I have to. That's how things need to be. Just remember how much work you had to go through to get the band. Ugh, that alone is enough to work for the weight loss. I hope you find your motivation. As I hope I find mine. If you find yours please contact me and help me out too... lol =0)

    Thoughts of others

    Good for you and this is probably the best decision you will ever make. However, I had some family ok with it and some not ok with it. The support I got from my mother has truely gotten me through this. I hope you have at least a few people to go through this with you. It's the hardest thing I have ever lived though and I get told everyday by people they don't know how I had the strength to go through it. Going into it you don't realize how much your life will change. If you are like any other overweight person your life revolves around food. It's the most amazing feeling in the world to "forget" to eat or to not plan your day around lunch and dinner. and it's nice to share that with someone. So if you don't have a good support system, contact me. I will cheer you on because I know how hard it is. But after you buy your first pair of jeans that is 2 sizes smaller than you used to be... IT'S SOOO WORTH IT.
  5. I got banded March 16th 2009. I have had successful weight loss. I have lost 75 lb. I have gone through many ups and downs with the loss. (As we all do, it's hard work). I was feeling so good and so healthy. I was going to a personal trainer once a week and doing at least 30 min at the gym everyday. Then something happened, and I don't know what. I have no motivation at all. I never want to go to the gym, I don't eat well. I have gone back basically to my life before my lapband. Getting my lapband was the best decision I have ever made and don't want to gain all that weight back. Has anyone ever lost their way. And if you have please let me know how you got back on track. The memory of the great feeling, extra energy, and lack of self loathing just isn't enough anymore. Also... is it possible that I am gaining weight (and eating more) if I am too full? I had 4cc's and was doing great. Now I have 5 1/2 and don't do as well. Should I get the fluid removed? I regurgitate quite often.
  6. I feel you I yo yoed 5 lb until I started the gym. I mean we all know the the key to weight loss isn't food, it's working out. I lost a lot by eating better but I feel my weight loss kicked into high gear when I felt enough energy to work out. I am only stating the obvious because you didn't mention anything about your work out routine. Also in regards to your "sweet spot" it might be lower than you think. I have had up to 7cc in my 10cc band. I feel that at 4cc I eat the best. Maybe you should try different amounts. I have had my lap band for almost 2 years... and it's still a mystery to me.

    PB concerns

    It's different for everyone. I didn't get my first one until like my 5th or 6th fill. I can still eat breads (not often) but very carefully. The worst part about the band is the waiting. Since you are always changing it with fills what you can eat changes also. Rice, Broccoli, and grapes are the worst things for me to eat.

    Sliders

    It's not really "throwing up" the food comes back up whole just as you chewed it. The feeling it totally different. I HATE it, I have been banded for almost 2 years and have been to the point where I was too full and even meat would make me regerg. It's not something you have to worry about unless you take huge bits or are too full. You know right away when it it's going to happen and if it happens often that's when you need to get some fluid taken out. I eat out, but you do need to know what you can and can not eat. Your best bet going out to eat is grilled chicken. Don't worry if it is going to happen you have control of holding it back in case the restrooms are not close. I can hold my for up to 10 minutes. As disgusting as that sounds it helps to have that control. Hope my long winded answer helped.

    Regurgitation/Vomit/Slime

  10. I don’t know what you call it, but I am having it. I have had my band for 5 months now. Over the past few weeks a lot of things I eat get stuck and I have to regurgitate. I don’t know if I am overfull or if I am just not eating slow enough or taking small enough bites. I have always been a very fast eater and this has been a hard adjustment for me. I didn’t notice the food getting stuck immediately after my fill. It was about a week or two before everything started getting stuck. I read somewhere on here that if you regurgitate you should stick to liquids for 24 hrs. Is that true? Does anyone have any advice for me so I can tell if I am just eating too much too fast? Of if I need to get some fluid out? Thanks
