Hi All, Its been a while since i posted, just updated the spreadsheet there. The weight has been very slow coming off but i am 40 pounds lighter than this time last year and i could easily have been 40 pounds heavier without the surgery. Every day is a food battle, I dont win every battle, but i am determined to win the war. Hope you are all health and happy... where did 9 months go? Any inspirational words out there? Love & Wishes, Care Bear -

Hi Guys, Thanks for the support, I have started the walking/running. i found a place near work that is flatter, the hills at home were a little daunting. i havent managed much running yet, it is all walking for now, but i have my goal. I find my muscles are fine and my body is physically fine to run and/or walk, it is my lungs that cant cope with running. just a small run (few hundred yards) and i am puffing. is this normal in the beginning? Well done to all you 5k achievers, you are an inspiration. X

Went to see the doc yesterday and no weight loss in the month. He told me that its quite normal, gave me another .5 fill. Apparently, he has had some patients who lost practically nothing in the first year, and lost all the weight in the second year. He keeps telling me it will happen. I have to believe him. its hard sometimes. whats everyone else eating at this stage? i wonder if i am eating too much. care bear. -
I have been thinking about starting an exercise regime since i had my band in december but havent done anything about it. I want to run, its who i want to be, i want to be that healthy person jogging in the park but i think when i read your posts, it is the fear of failure that has stopped me, also being a big girl, i am pretty worried about what people will think of me out running. having read what one of you said about how they should change the program from week 1 to 9 to level 1 to 9 has made me feel much better about starting, i dont have to do it in 9 weeks, i can just start off at week 1 and see how i go. so I am starting on Saturday, this gives me sunday to recover from my first attempt and to schedule next week. I am gonna do the ipod download tonight. any advice, tips etc. is welcome. the area i live in is quite hilly, has anyone been doing hills? thanks.

Hi Guys, Sorry i havent posted in so long, have been travelling a lot and forgot to check in. I have lost another 8 pounds, so i am down to 318. Can you update for me? thanks -
Hi Guys, Just a quick note to let you all know how i am getting on. Was a bit crap for a while afterwards cos i havent lost any weight. i had my second fill yesterday and am feeling restriction for the first time yesterday. The surgeon and the staff in the blackrock clinic have been really nice. I was worried about the weight issue a few weeks ago and the surgeon called me on my mobile to have a chat and to reassure me. they are very nice. I am hoping the weight will now start to come off. Will keep you guys updated. Good Luck to everyone. x

It took me ages to figure it out too, u go to www.tickerfactory.com and go through the steps to make one, then you add it to your signature in your profile on this website. Mine isnt great, but it will do for now! -

went to the doc yesterday, am still the same weight :bananalama: he said that it was normal. I got a new fill and am feeling a bit of restriction for the first time... yay. My goal for february is to lose 7 pounds. restriction or no restriction, i am going to do it this month. -
Hi Rebecca, I am in a similar situation to you, eating too much, not feeling any restriction. I was very emotional after my first fill, realising that it wasnt working for me yet. i have another fill on feb 4th and i am looking forward to that. now when i start to feel sad and disappointed about how i havent lost much weight yet and not feeling restriction, i just say to myself 'i am in this for the long term, i will not be impatient, whether it takes no fills or 20 to find my sweet spot, i am going to get there'. I hope it helps to know you are not alone. Best Wishes, Care Bear

Hi All, Sorry i am late to weigh in, was away with work. Sadly i didnt lose anything this week, but at least i didnt put anything on. I hurt my back at aqua aerobics, so its not helping things, but hope that my fill on feb 4th will help me get losing again. well done to all of you who lost this week. its so hard. care bear xxx -

Hi China, Thanks for your advice, I gave it the weekend and didnt feel any better, so i called the doctor this morning and he has booked me in for feb 4th for another fill which is not too far away. Thanks for the support and advice. I also spoke to the dietician and she gave me a revised eating plan to help, so hopefully i will start losing. keeping fingers and toes crossed.

Hi Guys, I had my first fill on Wednesday, i was so looking forward to it, because i have had an insatiable appetite for the last 2 weeks. I havent felt any different since the band fill. I am hungry all the time and nothing seems to fill me. I know it can take more than one band fill, but i still feel a bit disheartened, like i am going to be the first person ever who it doesnt work for. Anybody else hungry out there?

Hi Guys, I had my band done on dec 8th in Dublin. I am pretty sore and tired. anyone out there with advice on what to do? thanks a mill, emma.

Hi Guys, I am through to the other side, thank god. Well done to kidney donor... i took all the pain meds i could get my hands on. I was done on Monday night (8th). I am hoping the pain will lessen today, its mostly when i move or try to lie down. Wind has not been too much of a problem, but i am hic-cupping/ burping a lot after liquids. Any ideas how to improve that? mostly, i am just incredibly tired, dont want to eat or drink anything but am drinking water to keep my mouth wet. Good luck December bandsters.

Hi All, I too have been reading forums for a while but didnt feel i had much to say. I could spend hours reading about other people's experiences. My date is December 8th. I live in Ireland so I am thankful we dont have thanksgiving as this pre-op diet is tough enough without everyone around me eating. I am quite nervous about the surgery but am excited about the potential results. I have tried everything!! Before i started my pre-op diet, i put on about 2 stone eating all my favourite foods that i might not be able to eat afterwards etc. 5 days into the diet and i have lost about 7lbs. My goals are to lose over 100 pounds, to buy clothes in a "thin" shop and to have a baby. Is anyone else set for December 8th or have similar goals? it would be nice to have a lapband buddy for the year ahead. Happy Holidays xxx PS I set up a ticker but dont know how to show it?!
