I just went for my pre op testing and I will be having surgery on April 5th and Lucy gave me a prescription for 20mg once daily for 3 months and I went to the pharmacy down there and it cost me $155 for 3 months.

Hello .... Having my surgery done on April 5th. Was there today to get all my pre op done I live close enough so I wont have to be there the day before which is Easter Sunday. I am having a revision done so right now I have the lap band and having problems today they found that my port has flipped and it took over 25 min to get my unfill done and now I am all black and blue. Ahhhhhh to get this band out of me is going to be a great day for me. Kathy

I had some problems with my port. I has twisted and it took 3 doctors and 25 minutes to poke and prod my stomach with huge needles to twisted back around for a second so they could get all the Fluid out of the band. My stomach is now all black and blue and sore. Dr. Campos is on his honeymoon and he has always been the one doing my fills and unfills and he always hated my port but usually got it on the 2nd or 3rd try. I hope you get a good night sleep and hope to here from you soon. Please make sure Anna knows I was there and checked on her. Wishing you both luck and a speedy recovery. Kathy

Anna I was there and asked about you and Lucy said you where in surgery at that moment. She said you were doing great. I hope you are up and about tonight. Teresa I waited for you for awhile but guys were not there and Anna was just getting out of surgery. So I told Lucy to tell you hi and good luck. It took me 2 1/2 hrs to get back across the boarder. What a long day!! Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Even the weather is great right now we were a cozy 88 degrees today. So excited for summer to start so I can get back in the pool. Kathy

I do know what you mean. The lap band for the first year was great. I have lost over 80lbs and that has been great for me. I am a lot healthier then before and love the gym. I am just ready to be normal. No more PBing no more pain no more fill unfill fill unfill. I am just excited to get it over and done with and move on. Cant wait to meet ya. Kathy

I think I am getting all my testing done with the group that will be having surgery on the 26th so I will be there at 1pm. I just live so close that I am getting my stuff done a week before so I will not have to come the day before surgery which would be Easter Sunday so I will just show up on the morning of the 5th. So yeah we will get to meet and see how Anna is doing together. Kathy

Anna, I will be there on the 25th for Pre op testing so I will check in on ya if I can to see how you are. I know you will do well. Then I will be back on April 5th for my big day. I really dont look at mine as getting the sleeve but getting this "BLEEPING"(cant really use the word i want to) band out of me. Kathy

So I had the band done back in December of 08 and I have been on liquids a lot since then. I have came to love my Protein shakes. I drink Muscle Milk Light, Syntrax Nectars and Pre Workout NO explode. I drink 3 or 4 drinks a day. I hear how everyone has to gag down their protein or kind find one they like. My question is did you all like protein before surgery?? If you did the surgery change that and now you hate it!! I am getting a revision done on 04/05 and I can not even believe that I would not love my protein after. Thanks Kathy

Mine requires a week of low carb (Atkins) style diet. I believe it depends on your dr. and your BMI.

I have PCOS and Insulin Resistant I have not had the sleeve yet but I am banded. Since I have been banded I have lost over 80lbs since 12/08 and my symptoms have gotten better. My cycle has been regular for about 8 months now. Not sure about the insulin resistance but I am sure things are doing great I can not eat pastas or bread so a lot of my carbs are cut. But I had a problem with my band and had it unfilled for about 2 months and boy the weight came back quick a little over 20lbs before I got my fill put back in. I have decided to do the sleeve because of problems I have had and if I lose my band I can see the weight coming back plus some. Getting the sleeve to me just means I am done. Kathy

Marilyn That is so cool! I live out in the foothills. I am really just excited to get the port out it has really been hurting me. Okay so now I know you live here in Yuma we must get together after my date would love to pick your brain. Kathy

Hi everyone having my revision done on 4/5/10. I am so excited to get the band out of my body.....maybe it is more about getting the port out of my muscle wall. Would love to keep in touch with everyone so we can see how we all are doing and support each other. So glad found this site need all the support I can get. Kathy

Anna why did the doctor put you on a liquid diet? I have to do Atkins for a week. Kathy

Does Dr. Aceves offer that insurance?
