    Have PCOS-considering VSG

I did have the surgery and very happy with it. Since my last post may PCOS is under control and I have had 2 children. If you have specific questions let me know
  2. Hi ladies.....there is hope. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 always been overweight and never ovulated. It took me 8 yrs to conceive my daughter who is now 13yrs old I always told her she was my miracle baby:) After my daughter I was still not ovulating never had a period and the PCOS was just as bad. I ended up getting a divorce. I am now remarried and happy as can be. So now at the age of 37 I decided at my highest weight of 330lbs to get weight loss surgery done otherwise my husband would never have a chance to have children. I choose the Sleeve due to the issues everyone was having with the band and gastric bypass. So lets skip ahead once I started losing weight I started to ovulate became pregnant very quickly and the Dr said it is due to all the hormones being stored in my fat cells and when you lose the fat all these hormones are released and that is why you need to be very careful right after surgery. Well on a sad note I did lose that child but once again in 2 months was pregnant we also lost that child was very distraught and emotional so the doctor suggested birth control for a few months to regulate my hormones and take a break and to not have to worry about getting pregnant. So I took his advice. I took birth control for 2 months then stopped taking it and bam once again I was pregnant but once again we lost it. That happened on July 9, 2011. As all you ladies know that PCOS can not be cured weight loss can help with many symptoms such as ovulation. But you still have the high risk of miscarriages. After each loss they have you wait to have a complete cycle before trying again and we always do...but in July we also had a trip to Vegas planned and we ended up getting pregnant AGAIN!!!! I am now just about over all this baby stuff not wanting to go through all the pain and heartache of losing all my children. So my husband and I agreed that if we lost this one we would be done. So now it is December I am now 22weeks along and baby is doing good. We know it is a little girl we will be naming her EMMA. So now with the sleeve they do not believe that my miscarriages were connected that it is due to the PCOS. I do have to supplement with a Protein shake called Monster Milk due to no weight gain and low calorie intake. My 18 week ultra sound shows her growing right on time except for her stomach and it is a week and a half behind but my Dr believes that is due to the low calorie intake from me. And now that I am drinking this Monster Milk she should be able to catch up. Sorry so long and please feel free to ask any questions. It has been a long hard road for us but I believe in April 2012 (same month I had my surgery done) we will have out little bundle of joy to Celebrate. Oh and by the way husband said since it is a girl we will have to try one more time:

    Baby..oh Baby!!

I am about 10 weeks out of my band to sleeve revision and doing well lost 31 lbs so far (115 lbs total with band). And then yesterday I found out I was pregnant!! This is the reason I wanted to lose the weight and get healthy and yes it is a great blessing I could not be happier. But I am scared to death! I am losing about 2 to 3lbs every week and they want that to slow down a bit. So they want me to eat more......WHAT eat more I cant get down the crap I need to eat NOW. Drs. want me to drink at least 3 Protein shakes and 3 to 4 meals a day.....it is impossible. So if anyone has any ideas or have gone through this please HELP! I am stopping the personel training and the gym will just take walks around the block. I think this might be a lot worse then the 30 day post op diet:001_tt2:

    Baby..oh Baby!!

I am doing ok! I have become very sensitive to a lot of milk products but I can seem to drink the powder Syntrax 5.0 protein powder mixed with water. No morning sickness so I am very lucky there. Will be going in fro my appointment on Tuesday. I found that if I just graze through the day I can get more calories in. Thanks everyone for your support.

Trying to exercise- odd side effect??

Good luck with drinking while exercising. I have no problems drinking fluids at all....until I start to exercise....I dont think I even get down 4oz. And before I was sleeved and exercised I would down a 32oz bottle of Water at the gym...that is the only thing I miss. I exercise pretty intense and I think I am breathing so hard that when I drink I am also taking in air into my stomach it is very uncomfortable.

So I don't believe I am losing super fast but a very steady pace for me. So far I have had no stalls I have lost at least 1 pound every week. Online Food & Exercise log????

Ok so I have fitness pal, The daily plate(livingstrong), and Lose it. I am an Iphone junkie so I thought I would try this Fat Secret you all mentioned went on the computer and registered it was ok.....but then downloaded the Iphone App and now I am in LOVE. It has a barcode reader for the Iphone so the food I am eating all I do is scan the barcode with my phone and there it is. Never found one easier. Going around scanning everything in my house...hahahah I find this way more accurate then any of the other sites because it matches every product. What a wonderful App.

    Caution for using PPI's

I know my acid is real bad. I take 1 prilosec in the am no eating or drinking for 20 min then I am suppose to take Gaviscon at 12 noon no matter if I have acid or not then another prilosec about 9pm. Dr.Aceves said a big acid problem ( I know most of us won't like this) is chocolate! All my protein shakes are chocolate and sometimes I was sucking on some sugarfree chocolates. He told me to stop all products with cocoa. I have been a good girl and have followed doctors orders and have had no episodes at all.

    Caution for using PPI's

I do take it and it helps but since I switched from Nexium to Prilosec I have not had as much of a acid problem or maybe it was because I was eating the rolaids like candy and the Dr was right and I was just causing myself to make more acid. But I have been acid free for about 4 days now.

    Caution for using PPI's

I am having a big problem with acid I now take Prilosec twice a day plus I was taking some rolaids in the middle of the day. So I let Dr. Aceves know how bad it was and this is the reply Gaby sent me..... The doctor is out of town, but I called him he says to please do not take any Rolaids do not take Calcium carbonate products (TUMS, Rolaids, those type products. They will help immediately but in a few hours they will create more acid than you had to start with. He wants you to try Gaviscon.

    Quick update from Citygal

21 lbs.....you are awesome!!! Get your protein shakes in girl don't make me come to Philly and kick your butt!
  14. Thanks Destiny it has been a long hard road with the band I now feel like a million bucks.

  15. So my story started back in December of 08 and was on my way to TJ Mexico to have WLS. Oh my gosh what was I thinking!! I know what I was thinking.... I am 327 lbs I own a restaurant and I can not even help out for 4 hours without coming home and my whole body hurting. I can not walk by the french fries without grabbing some and dipping them in tarter sauce. Then I get home and my wonderful man who happens to be the Executive Chef makes Ribeyes, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Bread, and Alfredo....down it goes. Then we decide to watch a movie so out comes the bag of Kettle Corn Popcorn then I add my own butter and salt. So l was thinking this needs to end or my life will end. Blood Pressure 160/102. My quality of life was zero. I have a 12 year old daughter that is going to end up like her mom if I do not change. Or end up with no mom at all. So I ended up getting the Lap-Band. I have had many problems with the band over the last year and three months but what I can say is I lost 84 lbs with it and now I was going to lose it. What a girl to do...Replace it and hope nothing happens to it again or do you listen to the wonderful doctors you have been going to to get your fills and been there for you for all of your aftercare. So as of 04/08/10 I have been sleeved (should have been 04/05/10 but due to the earthquake I was pushed back a few days) Everything has been golden since my surgery no problems at all can drink just fine and had no pain was up 1 hour after surgery even got to go home a day early. Well the big new is now I have lost 100 lbs....It is amazing I can not believe the difference in my life....the energy the way I look at food. The best moment of all this was when my daughter was so excited that she can put her arms all the way around my waist when she hugs me. I even have smaller feet I can wear a size 10 now not a 12. I have gone from a size 28 pants to a size 18. I feel now like I am living not just going through the motions. I run around the restaurant like some teenage kid and walk by the fries with no urge to even grab one. I love the gym and love to workout. I have a long way to go but now that I am sleeved I know I can get there and it will be a better journey then with the band. Thanks to all for reading.

Sleeve set for Apr 19th, anyone else?

Not a good source of protein those are the vials and they use collegen protein.....NOT GOOD!!!:001_tt1: It is a very low protein....on the protein scale of 0-100 it is at the bottom.....Whey Isolate Protein is like a 98....Please do not buy any more of those. I bought 36 vials from bodybuilding.com and returned all of them....read the lable if anywhere on there says collegen return them.

Sleeve set for Apr 19th, anyone else?

What day are you on?? If you are past day 5 I do nectar Protein and add 2 scoops to about 16oz of Water and for just drinking that I get 180 calories and 46grams of protein. I drink that once a day and then a chocolate Premier Protein Ready to Drink (this one after day 10) which is I think 160 calories and 30 grams protein and there you go 76 grams of protein all done for the day so what ever I get in over those 2 drinks is a bonus!! DO NOT drink those Vials of Protein they are a bad source and a very low form of protein. It is a collagen protein and you do not want to know what they put in that stuff. Hope this helps.
