    Calling all October sleevers!!

I am down 35 pounds since surgery. I seem to have several weeks in a row where I don't lose at all and then I'll lose several pounds at once. The surgeon is happy with my results. I wish it was coming off faster but the inches are melting away. So I really can't complain. I haven't been sick or had any trouble with food for the most part. I avoid bread because it scares me. lol

    Struggling

I'm just shy of 3 months out. 10/217 was my surgery day. I did pretty well for the first 8 weeks or so. For the last two weeks or so, I seem to be losing and gaining the same one or two pounds. I know I weigh too often. I need to stop doing that. I do feel like I am shrinking. My clothing is almost falling off of me and everyone is commenting on my weight loss. I'm just not seeing in on the scale. Would love to hear from anyone who has worked through this issue. I am trying to remain positive and focus on my protein and water.

    Struggling

I wouldn't be too concerned right now. Your body is still recovering from the surgery. Just keep eating like you are supposed to and make sure you are getting your water in.

    Struggling

You are definitely not alone. I've heard of the three week plateau and I did have a bit of a plateau at that time but it didn't last as long as this has. I guess we just have to keep doing what we are doing and eventually the scale will catch up. Thank you for your response. Wishing you much success and a very Merry Christmas!

    Want lapband out

I just recently had a lapband to sleeve revision done, all in one surgery. The lapband was a huge waste of time and money for me. I had it in for 7 years and I'm so glad to be rid of it and actually on the way to a healthier me.
  6. My husband says he is being supportive but this whole week he's done nothing but eat in front of me. I'm not talking normal meals, I'm talking snacking constantly, in addition to the normal meals. I was sleeved on Monday so I'm not even a full week post op and I'm ready for him to go back out on the road again. I know this is a mental thing for me and I need to figure out how to be stronger but shouldn't he be a bit more sensitive to my feelings? I've told him more than once that it bothers me.

    Post op weight gain

Same thing happened to me but I lost the post surgery weight pretty quickly. Now I weight exactly what I weighed the morning of my surgery. I am four days post op and just waiting for the weight loss to start happening.

    Main Incision Pain

I was sleeved 5 days ago. I have been careful not to lift anything but I made the mistake of leaning over and pushing something out of my way. I pulled some internal stitches or the muscle in my main incision. I didn't have any pain before that but I sure do now.

Ripping burning pain in largest incision

I am three days post op and I have the same thing going on. I leaned over in my chair and felt something give a bit. I have been in pain ever since. I talked to the nurse in my clinic and she suggested using a heating pad to help with the discomfort and it has been helping.
  10. Sorry you are feeling poorly. I would suggest calling your doctor's office to see what they recommend that you take. I know that is what I would be doing. This is all new to us and we sure don't want to mess up something.

    Pureed food ideas

My surgery date is 10/2 and I'm trying to get a head start on the grocery list. My husband is a trucker and will be doing some shopping for me before he goes back out on the road so that I won't have to shop for several weeks. I know what I'm doing in the first stage but have no idea what I'll be eating in the pureed stage. Tell me what I should put on my grocery list. Thanks in advance.

How did you guys do on your pre op diet?

Same here. Surgery is the 2nd. I was just reading about my post op diet and I'll be on a similar diet for 3 weeks after surgery. I know this will all be worth it but I am so over this part of it.

    Tomorrow is it!!

Prayers for all of you! Mine will be next Monday. Can't wait!

    New here, need support

It sounds as if you have plenty of motivation. Your daughter is worth taking this small risk for a better life. I suggest that you just keep walking forward with this and see where you end up after you have met the requirements for the surgery. You could always change your mind later on. Good luck to you!

    Pureed food ideas

I have been checking out Pinterest. I've saved a lot of recipes. Right now it is making it difficult to focus on the liquid pre-op diet. LOL

    Buffalo chicken for pureed stage!

Found this on Pinterest. Hopefully it is the same recipe. Looks like it comes right off the package of Frank's Hot Sauce
  17. This is a great thread! Full of great ideas. Especially timely for me since I'm feeling restless and bored right now. I usually drive to town and make a run through the drive through when I get like this but that habit is over. I'm currently on my liquid diet since surgery is on the 2nd. I really need to put my focus on some other things. I have plenty of hobbies. I crochet, journal, scrapbook, watch movies, read, and I have five dogs that keep me busy. I don't know how I have time to be bored. lol

    Sleeve vs rny

Mine will barely be a 60 BMI by the time I have my surgery. They didn't tell me that was the reason but it does make sense.

How did you guys do on your pre op diet?

We are all different and I keep telling myself that. My doctor started me on the liquid diet 5 weeks ago. My surgery date is 10/2. I will admit that I have cheated a few times in the last month but it has been pretty easy, once I got past the first 4 days. Now I've been on the pre-op liquid diet for a week without cheating at all. Just 9 more days to do. I've got this! It will all be worth it in the end. But man oh man, I am tired of jello, broth and protein shakes.

    Pureed food ideas

That is awesome! Thank you so much. You just keep talking. I love all the ideas and the recipes. I'm going to be saving these and getting my grocery lists made up.

    Sleeve vs rny

Honestly, I went in planning on the RNY but my doctor and surgeon determined that I would be better off with the sleeve. I was disappointed at first but after thinking about it, I was fine with that. I have a history of binge eating and the doctors want me to be successful, so they suggested the sleeve since it is a bit more forgiving of the occasional binge. I would meet with your doctors and then, together, you can decide which way to go. Good luck!!
  23. That is exactly what I'm doing. Only a handful of people know ahead of time.

Lap Band Revision to the Sleeve

I was also banded in 2009, in Mexico, and I lost about 80 pounds. I've since gained it all back. Last year I started the process to have a revision to sleeve. I took all the required nutrition classes and I had an Upper GI to check my band. It all looked fine but obviously needs to come out. I am scheduled for surgery on 10/2 to remove the band and have the sleeve done. I'm scared, nervous and excited. This is going to be so much different than the first time. We will have success this time around. I have to keep telling myself that.
