Hey Singing, thanks for sharing your experience. I had my psych appt. and my upper GI on Monday and scheduled my sleep study for a couple of weeks. I do know what's entailed but man I don't know if I'll be able to sleep. I may have to show up with a couple glasses of wine in me. That might help out! I'm not doing so good on the weight loss. I think I'm only down like 4 lbs and I need to step it up cuz I'm meeting Dr. Robinson in less than 2 weeks for my follow up. My gym membership is almost expiring, may need to join a new gym and get motivated. The warm weather this past weekend did help a little but then the damn snow showed it's face again! Monday I had my upper gi and it was bad but not as horrible as I remember cuz the barium they use now is not as bad as it used to be, so I made it through with out throwing up..LOL The worst part was the wait. My appt. was for 9:15 and with the snow I was only 10 minutes late, not bad considering it took me over an hour to get there, then they had me wait for over an hour and I finally said what is the problem, I have another appt. to go to, apparently 3 of us were all there for the same thing, all booked at 9:15 and were being squeezed in between inpatients. I thought I was sent to "OUTpatient" x-ray. Very Frustrating. They seemed so confused there. During my procedure, my tech up and left and I got a new one to finish, and not to mention the people that kept coming in and out, good thing I was covered! So I'm hoping for a may date too. Sigh.. the things we do to be skinny! :mad2: -

Hey Singing, I was told the sleep study people would call me too, that was almost 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard a thing. I've been playing phone tag with jenn to get my info straight so I can put in my referrals. Nothing was said about the sleep study. (Not looking forward to it) I do have my psych and upper gi appt. scheduled for monday morn. Not looking forward to drinking that nasty stuff. Looks like you and me are in the same boat. I've only lost like 3 lbs but it's a start and I haven't been perfect. I'm hoping for 10 by my next weigh in a few weeks. -

Hi there. There is a thread already dedicated just for the Brigham and faulkner. I just met with Dr. Robinson this week for my first appt. If everything goes according to plan he is saying May/June for a band date. Come over and meet the newbies, and the veterans all from Brigham. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f42/brigham-women-faulker-hospital-56468/ -

Hey Jay, 38.2 pounds. Way to go. We must have just missed each other yesterday. My appt. was @ 1:30 and then I met with the Nutritionist. I was there till about 3:15. Anywho! I have to go back in 4 weeks. Lose 15 -20lbs, plan a damn sleep study. (I'm so nervous about that, don't sleep well and other places, but that's another story) Think I can request some ativan or just take a sleeping pill? LOL I also have to have the upper gi and meet with the head doc. I'm glad I got all your opinions on Dr. Robinson before I met him face to face.. LOL I went in expecting the worst and my B/P and heart rate were through the roof. He was actually nice, looked me in the eye and smiled! So, now I just need to book these appointments and I'm on my way! Do I have to lose the 15-20 lbs before I get a date scheduled, he is telling me it's about a 2 month wait as it is, so I'm looking at May or June, if he schedules me at my next appt. :cursing: -
Hi from Massachusetts, Anyone banded at the Brigham?
thinkingaboutit77 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi there, I'm pretty new to this site. I have not gotten the band but am more in the research stage and even with all the info I have and read on this site, I'm still terrifed, so I guess that means I'm not ready? I've been to a seminar and wanted to know if anyone is or has gotten banded in Boston at Brigham and Womans Hospital? If I do get the lap band that is where I will be going. I'm hoping to connect with some people going through this in my area. Thanks! -

That's great! I have my first consultation with Dr. Robinson tomorrow. There is a thread on here for just Brigham/Faulkner banders. If I do get this, I will be getting it at the Faulkner as they have private rooms.. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f42/brigham-women-faulker-hospital-56468/ -

Who plans on attending the meeting tomorrow at the Brigham. I haven't decided yet, but I think it may be good for me, since I'm meeting Dr. Robinson next week for my first consultation. Do you have to pre-register or can you just show up? Thanks! -

Hey everyone. I just want to say that I "think" I've made the decision to pursue the band. Think meaning, I hope i don't talk myself out of it.. LOL I went to an info session in Nov. and called today to make an appt. with Dr. V and she is booked till April?!?!?! So then I called and tried to get an appt. with Dr. T.. (sorry so bad with last names) and she said she would have to call me back in the morning to give me an appt. ... Is this normal?? How long after the inital consult can I have my surgery? Granted everything is in order and goes smoothly. I don't want to wait 6 months, I may lose my nerve.. Sandy ) -
Hello from Massachusetts!

Hi there, I'm from massachusettes as well. I'm 31 and have about 100lbs to lose, I just posted an introduction yesterday asking if anyone was from mass and having/had their procedure done at the Brigham. I went to their seminar and have thought about going to one of their meetings for those that have had the surgery. I'd like to know how things go for you. I'm seriously thinking about this but am just terrified, probably mostly of failure. ( Good luck! Sandy -
Hi, I'm in Ma and have the same insurance. I'm curious too. I just went to a seminar last night, still on the fence about the whole thing, which is why I'm on this site, to learn more. I would love to hear any info you may have. Do you have a doctor chosen yet?
