Hello, Dr. Bhoyrul is a great surgeon! He performed gastric bypass on my husband and lap band on myself. He is very quick when it comes to appointments, but he is great about answering phone calls if you have any problems or questions. The Hospital staff was amazing! My favorite nurse was Ofelia. As far as pain goes, it is somewhat painful for the first 3 to 4 days and then after that it's not bad at all. Are you staying overnight? I was required by my insurance to stay overnight. I am two weeks Post OP and am doing well. I have lost a total of 40 pounds in since starting my Lap Band Journeyin September. I would like to start working out and am looking for people in the San Diego Area that would like to maybe workout a few days a week. I was banded by Dr. Bhoyrul and was wondering if there were others out there banded by him also.

I am 5 days post op and have moved from liquids to mushy foods. Every time I eat, I have a bowel movement, is this normal? I have lost 13 pounds in 5 days, which I am excited about. Also, I started my period today and noticed that it was much heavier then normal... ( I was very irregular, got my period 4-5 times a year), is this because of the weight loss?
