  1. Had my body fat measured today by my trainer, last time was first of August, I've only lost 7 pounds since then, but I've lost 3% BODY FAT!!! Down to 24%! YAY!
  2. I blame Ebony for it. She talked me into C25K and from there, it was like, well I never thought I could run, so if I can run, maybe I can do boot camp, and tonight, it was well maybe I can do boot camp and this GODAWFUL 1 hour long cycle/circuit class called TURN AND BURN. I have never sweated that much in my life. The good news is, after I've worked out for an hour and a half, I'm too sick to my stomach to even THINK about food.
  3. Took my measurements last night and have lost 2 inches in the last three weeks, at least somethings going away!
  4. DD, thank goodness you got your fill! Glad to see you recommitted and back on here! I tried to do around 800 calories for a week, to try to start losing again. Went to the gym every day for a minimum of an hour, never went over 850 calories. Guess what?! GAINED 2 POUNDS!!!! Sorry, whoever recommended that, but I'd rather eat 1000 to 1400 and lose nothing, than starve myself and gain. On the plus side, although I haven't lost any weight, I can fit into size 12's. My guess is, since I've starting doing boot camp 4 times a week(and boy am I sore ALL THE TIME!) and running, I've really packed on some muscle and that's why I'm not seeing a drop in the weight.
  5. Ok so, yesterday, I ran for 2 miles, did boot camp for 45 minutes and strength trained for about 20 minutes, ate LESS than 800 calories. Get on the scale this morning....and have GAINED a pound since Monday. I'll stick with the 800 calorie diet till Sunday but it's not looking good. Ebony, I think you and my's original idea was right, starvation plateau that low.
  6. Oh and another fill is out for me, I'm at 10 ccs in a 10cc band, not only that but I can't eat more than about a cup of food without bringing it right back up most days.
  7. 800 is not a lot of food. Considering I workout for an hour and a half usually 6 days a week, burning about 400 calories each time, it doesn't leave a lot of energy for my body to burn. Everytime I've tried to go that low, my body shuts down and I don't lose anything. But, I'm willing to give it a try for a week: so here is my meals for today: Breakfast: protein shake, 200 calories Lunch: Yogurt, 80 calories, babybel cheese (2) 140 calories Dinner: egg 70 calories, sausage 200 calories, dry toast, 1 piece 70 calories. Snack: Yogurt 80 calories That actually puts me at 840. It's only 6:20 pm, I did an hour and a half at the gym, 30 minutes run/walk, 30 minutes of boot camp, and 30 minutes of strength training. I will be starving by 8 pm so will have to go to bed before then! LOL.
  8. Glammaw..slimfast makes a good tasting ready to drink low carb, high protein shake, or you can by the mix which is cheaper, that's the main staple on how I get mine in. You need around 60 grams a day, according to my dr. Good luck and CONGRATS!! You deserve it after sticking in there so long!
  9. Ok, guys, seriously, I'm stuck in a rut. I have tracked every bite I've taken for the last four weeks, I've worked out a minimum of 4 times a week--running, boot camp, yoga, strength. I'm getting in 64 plus ozs of water a day, taking my vitamin, eating my protein first....and I have not DROPPED ONE POUND!! What's up with this? Any ideas? I'm keeping my calories around 1200 to 1400, I've even tried varying it, doing 1000 one day, 1400 the next....nothing is working! HELP!?!?
  10. JMS Thanks for the clarity, I was wondering what size I'd be when I got down around 160 and was thinking it'd be around an 8, so you and I must be close, I think I used to be 5'9" too, LOL. How exciting for you to be only SINGLE DIGITS away from your goal! That rocks!
  11. Either way, you have done an amazing job, and I'm so proud of you and me and Ebony and everyone else making this journey. I know I feel a heckuva lot better now, at 40 than I did at 30!
  12. DD I'm gonna have to agree with you, I think 140 is going to be too small for you. You'd look scrawny. I'm hoping for 160. Doc says that'd be a good weight for me. Something to do with how big your feet and hands are (I wear a 10 shoe), but I know 140 would be way too skinny for me...my hubby likes a little curve, not just bone!
  13. how tall are you Ebony and DD? I'm 5'8" and I'd love to hit that 100 lbs mark too DD!! Then I'd be done! I've slacked off this last 6 weeks. I have a whole myriad of excuses but that's all they are, I've been lazy and uncommitted and it seems like this last 25 to 30 pounds is a lot of work. I was lucky that the first 70 just kinda came off without me doing much of anything. I'm still doing the c25k program, week three, thought it would kill me but it didn't. I walk the other three days, and strength train four days a week. I've been consistent the last three weeks and I honestly think that it's helped my cigarette cravings. I barely eat during the day but in the evenings....look out! So, today i'm going to try working out in the evenings instead, so that will at least take up an hour or two instead of me sitting around grazing out of boredom. WATER?! Ebony you are so right, I've really made an effort to get my water in this week and have seen a huge difference in how I feel. I've also been writing down everything I eat this week and can see where my slip ups are...I agree the writing it down really makes you accountable. In the end, it's all me, and my lack of patience and my tendency to be lazy, lol. I know I'm a lot healthier now, my last dr visit a couple of weeks ago my blood pressure was down to something like 102 over 66, instead of the 120 over 80 it used to be. I have a ton more energy and dont sleep nearly as much. I know I eat a TON better than I used to, rarely eat junk food and find myself excited about salad! I'd have never believed that in a million years! And I actually LIKE fish now, used to HATE HATE HATE it! Now we have salmon and tilapia at least two to three times a week. Most importantly, although both my children are healthy and slender, the changes we've made in our household have changed they're ways of eating too, which means MAYBE they won't have to deal with what I'm dealing with. And my hubby has lost 30 pounds in the last few months too, and he wasn't really overweight to begin with. So, all in all, what started out as a 'me' thing has changed the lives of my entire family. We're all eating better, making better choices, getting exercise and not mindlessly putting crap in our mouths. Really, I can honestly say that even though I got the band to look and feel better about myself, it was the BEST decision I've made in terms of the health of my entire family.
  14. Well, where's everyone been? Hope you all aren't doing as bad as I am. I'm still stuck at 70 lbs. lost, haven't lost in almost two months. I upped my gym program, and am trying to eat better, but still having cravings from the not smoking.
  15. Sheesh girl you don't need us....do you OWN A MIRROR!!??
  16. DD Welcome back! Now don't go getting all crazy on that treadmill....they said WALK! And kudos on looking so hot for the wedding! You rock!
  17. JMS...good for you! I have a couple of in-laws that are total beoytches and I'd love to put them in their place....you got to without intending to! You deserve a little wild reputation!
  18. I think that's what happened to DD, and her band had slipped. Id suggest having your DR do a fluoroscope, heartburn or reflux is also a sign that your band is overfilled. Did your Dr. not tell you that people with bands shouldn't drink carbonated drinks? The carbonation can stretch out your pouch and/or your esophagus. This may be the problem with the heartburn.
  19. LOL Ebony, I see we both think the same....Great minds think alike! DD??!? Where are you? How are you doing?!
  20. Wanna B, have you talked to your doctor about it? Do you keep a food journal? How many calories do you eat a day and do you mainly eat protein and then veggies? Sorry to ask so many questions, I quit smoking three weeks ago and I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any either, because I've been eating a TON of candy and chocolate to satisfy my cravings. I know that I don't lose weight unless I'm doing mainly protein. Everyone is different on what plans make them lose, and I just wondered what route you were going. Have you had tests done to make sure you aren't having some kind of thyroid problem?
  21. Ebony....I went ahead and upped to week 2 on c25k, and I made it through without passing out....barely. What week are you on and PLEASE tell me it's gonna get easier. At this point I cannot imagine ever being able to run 25 minutes straight---lol. It's not so much my hip hurting or the shin splint in my right leg...more the hard time breathing which I suspect has something to do with 20 years of smoking.
  22. Marisol, So sorry to hear you're having trouble. It always makes me sad when my fellow band-ites have issues. Take your rest and recovery and replan your attack. Maybe now that it's all straightened out you can get on track and get the weight off. Good luck!
  23. Ebony....no way could you be a slacker. He seriously said, I'd like offer you some advice, but since you've exceeded our expectations you should probably be giving the advice. That goes for ALL of us!
  24. I started the C25k program last Monday, did three days with no problems (other than some hip pain and shin splints!) Didn't run into anyone or anything or fall down and break a bone--surprise surprise. I think I'll do week one again, because I don't think I'm ready for week two. The downside is, although I quit smoking two weeks ago, and haven't gained any weight, I haven't lost any, because I've constantly got something in my mouth. Trying to be good and eat carrots, etc, but REALLLLLLLY craving chocolate. Ugh. Oh well, I know I'll be healthier in the long run even if it does set me back a month or two. DD I'm so glad you're all fixed up and it won't be long before you're back at it. My Dr. asked me the other day what was the hardest thing about having the band....I said 'patience'. I will you some extra cause I know you're frustrated. On the plus side, at my Dr. appt, he said 70 lbs in 10 months is way above the curve, that most DRs. expect their patients to only lose about 50 lbs the first year...so we are ALL kicking booty. Remember, we're in the final stretch so we just need to give it a little push to get the rest of the way there!
