  1. you guys are wonderful thank you! diva-got shivers when I read your news! So wonderful!! such a blessing these little ones are! after all we have been through with our weight! I saw my OB today because spotting started again but she took a look and things look ok. Last week upon exam my cervix was slightly dialted and she noted stringy tissue but this week it has closed up nice and tight and she said as far as visual inspection it looked good-no loose tissue. I will have my HCG levels tested tomorrow and that will really tell us if things are going well.   2. hey guys just wanted to check in- I'm going through a pretty hard time right now. I went to my OBon xmas eve because tuesday I had terrible low back pain and began to spot wed AM. She did an exam and siad she saw some loose tissue and thought I was miscarrying, so she sent me for an ultrasound. They did see a heart beat so at that point I hadn't miscarried and I was sent home to take it easy over the holiday. I continued to have the back pain, and spotting with abdominal cramping. All signs of miscarriage. Friday I went back in and had my HGC level tested. Tomorrow I will have it tested again. If the levels had doubled then the baby is growing like it should. If the number is up just a little then something is worng and if the number has gone down I have lost the baby. So I've had to sit around all weekend wondering what is going on and it has been HORRIBLE! I guess I will know tomorrow what is going on. THe spotting is better today but I've all but convinced myself that I have miscarried just to prepare for the worst. Anyhow keep baby in your thoughts and prayers and I will let you guys know tomorrow what's going on:huh2:

    carbs? what is ok?

    I read on here about people who eat an occasional piece of toast or pizza. My nuse freaks out about me consuming carbs. She says the expand in my ouch and will streatch it out. It's so hard to never have carbs, I don't have them often but an occasional bite here and there doesn't seem to be the end of the world? I don't eat them to the point of pain so I don't feel like I'm jepordizing streatching my pouch? what do you guys think?
  4. back down to 217! not sure how because I ate 10mini chocolate chip cookies yesterday! being snowed in is no good for my diet :tongue_smilie: Did a preggo yoga video this am, so was not fun! then I had 2scrambled eggs with spinach, green onion and I diced up 1/2 an avocado and cherry tomatoe. It was delish:tt2: oh did I leave out the three pieces of bacon I ate?:tongue:

  6. ah still figureing this site out. just say that you were banded in aug. we started at about the same weight. I was 279 before my preop diet- I'm 218 now lowest was 215 but the lbs are going to creep back up for a few months! Going to do my best to gain obly about 15-20 lbs with baby. last pregnancy i gained nearly 50!!!

  7. hey My doc is the wonderful Robert Michaelson MD, PhD, FACS from Northwest weightloss surgery! when were you banded? I was banded 1/15/08. Down about 60 lbs but I'm 6weeks pregnant!!!

  8. still holding at a gain of about 3lbs- I was up almost 5 for a few days but I think it was water or something. I was craving salt a lot last week so maybe I was retaining a little. Anyhow I struggle all day to not just stuff my face. I want to!! Part is because we are snowed in and I'm bored :biggrin: and part due to cravings and the other part is just mental telling myself I'm pregnant and I 'can' eat. it's going to be a VERY long 8 months!!
  9. funny I logged on to ask you guys what you had been eating lately and all the recent posts are about food!! now i"m hungry and want cereal :sad_smile: lol anyhow I'm kind of struggling on what to eat. I was struggling before I got preggo though. I had really hit a plateau and hadn't lost much in the past few months and met with my nurse who kicked me in the butt about some of the stuff I was eating. I had become lax because I was sick of the few band friendly things I had found to eat when I was being really strict. Like any "diet" it got old and instead of getting creative I got lazy. anyhow I fell back into some bad habbits right before I got preggo. I've been trying to be vigilent now that I'm preggers because I realy don't want to pack on the pounds but like I said I'm not very creative and.....I don't cook often :thumbup: I work full time and when I get home I just want to veg and spend time with my hubby and 4yr old. Anyhow today I had 2very small pieces of pizza!!:confused: my nurse says that shouldn't even go down, but I manage it :shades_smile: and i had salad as well. I also ate a box of junior mints I was craving but after the entire box I just felt sick! lol so anyhow does anyone have any good food ideas?
  10. cherry-blue/Heather Looks like we have a lot on common :thumbup: I was banded the 15th of Jan this year so we are only a few days apart! and I'm due in August. When are you due? I'm not so quick with translating you kg into my lbs? lol how much have you gained since becoming pregnant? I really don't want to gain very much and I know htat sounds selfish but I was miserable last pregnancy with the weight I gained and since I'm still overweight I just don't want to be unhealthy. For me or the baby! I've gained about 4lbs inteh past two weeks. It's hard to see the scale go up :biggrin: I'm about 5weeks along and just feel it's too early to be gaining! this thing is only as big as a sesame seed afterall!
  11. I'm really frusterated and need some words of support! I'm 5weeks pregnant and I've gained 3lbs in the past week and a half. I really haven't changed how I'm eating. I'm really trying to be aware of what I eat because I don't want to pack on the 40lbs like I did last pregnancy (pre-band) I know I have to gain some weight but I didn't think 3lbs it would eb 3lbs in the first week! :blushing:
  12. my advice on constipation.... don't do it!!!! start being vigilent NOW about what you eat and maybe even mix a little metamucile (sp?) into a meal once a day because I got hemorrhoids during my first pregnancy due to constipation around month 7 and it was the WORST experience of my life! seriously! This time around I'm going to make sure to eat good amounts of fiber daily and even take a supplement every other day to make sure things keep moving. I'm about 4weeks along, and I'm already having crazy cravings. I'm doing my best not to give into them though, just like I'd fight off a normal craving, i busy myself and typically a few min later I've forgotten about it. It's gonna be a long 9mo though if I"m already jonz'n for junk;)
  13. Heather I was banded 1/15/08 and I'm down 60lbs. I've REALLY slowed down the past few months my excuse was it was summer and we were traveling, camping so forth but I should have made better choices :thumbup: it's all a learning process and I'm back on track now! just in time to findout I'm preggers. I'm down 5lbs just from a week ago this because I started doing all the right things. I'm determined not to gain a bunch wiht this pregnancy. With my first I gained nearly 50lbs! ugg anyhow I'm sure most of this is in my head but I've been hungry all day. Nibbling on good things but nibbling none the less. I really don't want to let myself believe the "I'm eating for two" thing again this time around!

  16. well seems we have a few things in common ;) My hubby and I started trying in july as well. this will be #2 for us. I was banded 1/15/08 so I'm not quite to the suggested "wait a year" mark either but we just don't want to wait any longer. This month we bought an ovulation predictor and made sure to try during the time it said i was ovulating. We shall see in a few weeks! I've plataued at th e60lb mark and just kicked myself in the butt today to get back on this weightloss. I would love to get any amount I can off before I start gaining it again! although this time around I WILL NOT be gainig 45lbs with baby!

    Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

    I'm brand new here- I went in for a fill today and kind of got skooled! I've been bad lately and eating things tha I SO shouldn't be!! My nurse is actually going to do a fluro on my next tuesday to make sure I haven't streatched out my band because she is suprised at some of the things I told her I had eaten. For example I ate a DOHNUT this am!! ugg anyhow I joined this site so I can get back on track- I guess I was in a rut and eating the same things and then I just fell off the wagon. So I'm looking on here to get some fresh ideas of things to eat! Thanks for sharing this will help me!!
