    Any December '08 Bandsters?

Hey Everyone! I hope you all have had a very merry day. I am one week post op as my surgery was done on the 17th and I am feeling soooo much better! I am still taking my liquid loritab once and sometimes twice a day if the pain gets bad but it hasnt been that awful and each day is getting better. I can finally lay on my right side but my left side still hurts pretty bad and thats the side I have more incisions on. I am still on clear liquids and definitely ready for some new additions into what I am allowed to eat. It has been much easier than I thought it was going to be, and that makes me proud which makes it all the easier! It sounds like some of you around my same date are already eating all liquids and some mushies..that is very interesting and I am really looking forward to my 1st followup since surgery which will this Monday the 29th. I would love to keep in touch with other people as well so we can make this journey together. I wish us all the best.

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

I didn't need anything to do as I was pretty out of it most of the time and when I was awake enough, I would try to get up and move around and that would tire me out and make me sore so I would go back to hitting my morphine and resting, time went really fast! My loose fitting clothes were a t-shirt and sweats and it was all I needed. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! Merry Christmas to you!

I know exactly what you mean... the pain has gone up to my shoulder and it makes me want to cry. The Gas X strips seem to help a tiny bit but....not enough. Also I cant rid of this "full" feeling, so much as to I dont want to eat or drink anything and I know I need to. Any sugggestions on that?

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

I make a 4 oz protein shake and it takes me about 10 minutes or so to get it down, I did that 3 times today, I feel SO full after that. I just went to a Christmas party and there was tons of food and I wasnt even hungry at all and had no desire at all to eat anything! I also went for a nice long walk around the block and that too made me feel a lot better.

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

Hi, this is 2 days after surgery and I am feeling a little better, not up to taking a drive or going to the mall yet but have been walking around the house and trying to be more active, my Dr said to stay at home and relax but this gas is building up and I have got to get it out of me, moving around for sure helps with that. I have no hunger at all but have been taking small amounts just to keep up my strength. Protein shake went down easy as does the jello, I am feeling better by the hour pretty much which is great. It is so nice to read what other people are going through and I dont feel so alone in all this.

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

Hey everyone, I got banded yesterday the 17th... I think I am the one that got hit by the mack truck! I so admire you that are not hurting and are already able to do stuff! Amazing... I have 6 holes in me and I think more than anything I am having gas pains. It hurts to get up or down but after I am laying down or standing up, it feels really good. My surgery was around 3 pm and I left the hospital around 130 this afternoon. I love the hints about the Gas-x strips, definitely using them. I gained like 4 pounds since yesterday but i know that will soon be gone plus a whole lot more. I have been walking around the hospital and now at home but not more than like 10 minutes at a time. How long were and are some of you able to be up the day after? There is no way I am up to walking my dog yet!!!! Anyway congrats to all and thank you again for all the great posts.

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

My surgery is set for the 17th!! Only 3 more days! I have been on liquids all day yesterday and today and so far so good. I think I wont have any problems making it 2 more days! Wish me luck tho, I know I could use it. Reading all the posts has been great and such a learning tool, just all the different opinions and useful ideas. I am so glad I found this site! I am a little confused between clear liquids and liquid diet. My paperwork says clear liquids but also lists protein shakes, yogurt and other "unclear" liquids. Anyone have any thoughts as to that? I have staying with clear except for my protein shake. That has been like my only "meal". I am wishing everyone the best results and look forward to reading up on everyone's progress! Merry Christmas to us.
  11. Hello! I am scheduled for surgery on 12-17-08 with Dr Darin Minkin. I have really liked the seminars and he has always been able to answer all the many questions I have had. He was not pushy and made me feel very comfortable about my decision. I have to do a 3 day liquid diet. I am getting very excited and so ready for this change! Merry Christmas to me!!!!!!!

    Hello Missouri

Hello, Dr Minkin is also doing my surgery. I have met with him several times and with surgery in less than 3 weeks, I am getting very anxious! Not really nervous just the thought of the unknown. It sounds like you have been very successful! Congratulations!

    Any December '08 Bandsters?

My surgery is dated for 12-17-08 and I start my liquid diet on the 14th. Why is there such a variation between people getting the surgery as to when they start the liquid diet? Also besides broths and jello what are we to eat? Or is that it? I am so ready for all this...I just want to make sure I am ready as the time is almost here!
