I got banded on June 26th. I have lost a total of 35lbs. I have not been too successful of loosing weight, but I am loosing inches like crazy. I have joined my gym at work and they have been keeping track of my inches. I didn't work out at all last month and still lost 4 inches in my stomach and 3 inches around my hips. I have noticed that I loose more inches first then the weight. i just went and got my fill yesterday and I am at 8cc in a 10cc band. I am feeling the restriction today. I will see how it goes for the next few weeks, I might have to go and get a small unfill. I figure with everything else, I need to be patient and I will start loosing like crazy some time soon. Good luck!

I got banded at the same time on 6/26. I had my first fill and lost 6lbs, and the second fill I lost nothing. I just got my third fill the other day and I finally got restrction and I don't feel hungry all the time. I am having a hard time getting my liquid down also, but I am trying to get that down first. Today was my first day of mushies and a very small bite of eggs wouldn't go down. So I will have to stick to protein shakes in the am. I am starting to see that I am loosing now, since the dr appt on tuesday i have lost 5lbs.

How do you feel after your fills?
kswinterk replied to thebandedgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just got my 3rd fill yesterday. When I got home last night and tried to drink water, I could tell I am tighter and it takes a little bit longer for liquid to go down. I am on liquids until later tonight, but I can tell a difference. I am hungry because I am just doing liquids, but I can tell a difference. -
I just wanted to let you guys know that I have BCBS of MA that I got approved with having a high BMI and hypertension. They took 24 hours to approve me and 100% of the surgery is paid. It took so long for my dr's office to get my paperwork over to them, but I meet the surgeon on May 27th and we will then set up my surgery date. Good luck to all!!:tt2:

The pain in your chest sounds like your not chewing your food enough. I get the same pain if I eat to fast or try to eat bread or tortilla's. If you aren't really having any restrictions to where you can eat bread, then i would say get the fill. The fill is suppose to make you feel satisfied and not crave food. The pain will get worse if you don't take smaller bites and chew your food. That is the worse part about the band, but it does help you decide to quit eating after that happens. Good luck!

Weight Coming Off Too Fast Since Fill?
kswinterk replied to dpj00024's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
To be honest I don't think it is. I got my first fill last week and I started to work out this week and have lost 5lbs already. Our bodys are changing and we are speeding up our metabloism. I have been drinking more water and eating less since I started to work out. Just as long as you are getting your protein in, I think you are good. Good Luck! -
I just got released to work-out last week. I have been stalking this thread for awhile and started the couch to 5k last night. I did it on the treadmill, since it was raining outside. I wasn't going to use the rain as an excuse to not work-out. I walked at a 3.0 and jogged at a 4.0. I didn't want to over do it, and not give up on this program. I am a little bit sore today, but it usually take 24 hours for my body to feel the real affect on my work-outs. I was debating to do the bicycle at the gym tonight for 20 minutes, but I know the program says to take a day off to let your body re-coup. Any suggestions?

I just got released to start doing more than walking. Just like everyone else, I want to see results. I know that cardio is a big part to loosing weight, and I not a big fan of it to be honest. Anyways, with all you runners/walkers did you see results after a month? From doing hard intensity workouts, have you noticed your skin firming up and staying tight or is it loose from all the weight you have lost? I am trying to figure out a way to try not to get a tummy tuck, if I can take care of my skin while loosing. HELP!

I was wondering how much weight you lost when you started to add walking /running. I am going to start doing cardio and just need some encouragement that people have seen great results when they added exercise.

I got my first fill the other day. I felt crampy also. My port was a little bit sore, and when I tried to eat i felt restriction that day. Its not uncommon, but just take it slow and eat mushy foods until you feel better. I feel much better today then i did a few days ago.

I was in the same boat about now loosing weight. I had my first fill on 8/10 and I have a 10cc band and my dr. put 2.5cc in my band. To be honest I can feel the difference. I am very full of the little I eat. Then today, I wasn't hungry for Breakfast so i just drank Water and about 10am i had a babybel cheese. My dr told me clear liquids for a day then start doing mushy foods like yogurt or cottage cheese. I finally got release to excersise and I am goign to start that today. I am not a fan of just walking I need more than that. The fill didn't hurt, and i could feel him putting the saline in and actually fill it get a little big tighter. Good luck with your fill!

I have been getting headaches here and there. Does anyone have any suggestions on some kind of tylenol that we can chew or swallow without getting the pill stuck? Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, I just got banded on June 26th. I have been eating according to what my dr is telling me to do. But I am not having any restriction. Is this normal before you get your first fill? Thanks for any feedback.

I called my insurance the other day and they said pretty much you have to have a bmi of 40 or 35.5 with one of the 6 critera. I was more worried about having to a six month dietician diet and they said that was not in the regulations. So I am going to my seminar on monday and I am going to start the whole process and see what happens. I have a 39.9 BMI with stage one of hypertension that I have had since I was 16. I am now 27 and I have proof that I have been on mediciation since then.
