Just curious what restriction feels like. My doc finally gave me a good amount on a fill and after a few days occasionally when I eat I get uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I kind of want to burp/vomit/both. It varies on what causes it and day by day. Somedays I can eat everything fine and almost feel like I dont have a band - the others a small bite of food causes the feeling. Is this restriction or did I get too used to not having to chew well enough/eat slow enough? I'm just curious how you know when you've achieved restriction.

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
woodspot replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So what's in my fellow November's bands at this point and how are you feeling? I sometimes wonder if my doc is not being very agressive. I'm sitting at 1.5cc in a 10cc band after 2 fills. I am hungry all the time and am able to eat waaaay too much if I don't watch it. My doc told me the most a fill can be is .5cc and to not worry, he'll have me where I want to be eventually. My weight loss is good I guess, but I don't credit the band for that - rather I am watching very closely what I eat, excercising, and ignoring the hunger as best I can. So where are you at this point? -
I'm still trying to figure this whole thing out. I was banded 3 weeks ago and was on Protein Shakes. I assumed it was because I was very limited in what I could eat so they provided the best mix of everything in an easy to handle package. I'm now moving into solids. I was under the impression that with the band you eat more "normal" foods, just in much smaller portions. But now while browsing the site, I've noticed everyone still talking about the Protein, getting enough, how much they had for the day, etc, etc. So post-band and beyond the post-op mushy phase - just how important is protein still? I'm feeling a little neglected by my doctor and feel very uninformed. I'm kinda "winging" it and really don't know what I'm supposed to be eating now.

Hello fellow bandsters! I just stumbled onto this site while scouring the net for answers to some questions I have. This looks like a very nice community and one I intend to use! Anywho, I'm a newbie so play nice  I was curious how much Fluid is in a normally filled band. I had surgery on Nov 5th, had some issues healing so the doc drained it. I just went last week for my first fill and he put 1cc in it. 1cc just didn't look like much to me and I feel hungry still. I'm at the point I'm moving to solid food now but I think I'm eating more than I should and I never really feel full. Right after the surgery I noticed a third of a shake had me filling very full and I kinda liked it. The doc was concerned though that I wasn't getting enough nutrition to heal (since I could maybe barely get 1 shake down a day). So for those who are well beyond the operation and at a good point in your journey - how much is in your band? This has been one hell of a journey so far, way tougher than I ever expected. I used to honestly think the band was the "easy" way out and struggled mentally to accept getting one. HAHAHA was I wrong! Thanks for the help all and I look forward to sharing this trip with you!

I had my surgery Nov 5th and up until about now I was sooooooooo itchy everywhere they put the Iodine. All over my stomach and especially around the incisions. I had little bumps pop up all over my stomach. Surgeon said its normal for the incisions to itch as they heal and I think my stomach in general itched because they shaved me. It gets better
