Thanks Argon, I hope I can book my fill! I found out that I have the 11cc Vanguard band and that they will put 4cc in on the first fill. Does this sound right?

Hi, I am from Alberta, I am 42, married for 21 years and we have 2 daughters:girl: :girl: I work as a secretary at our local hospital. I am just 3 weeks post-op and feeling great. I don't have much of a restriction as I can eat pretty much anything as long as I chew it to mush. I found out that I have an 11 cc Vanguard band and my first fill will be 4cc can't wait. :canada:

Hey Yoda, A western Canadian here. Good luck with your fill. I see my Dr this Friday for the first time since my surgery. I hope to book my first fill for the first week of July. I really don't feel l have much of restriction now. Do you know what kind of band you have. Go Oilers!!!

Yes, that is his name. Very nice Dr. and yes I was one of the first 12 to be banded out of the 25 that are being done. I am not sure if they have selected all 25 though. The dietician I saw was Jan. Good luck to your friend. I have inlaws in Sask. Where are you from?

Hi all, I am just over 2 weeks post banded and I am feeling just great. I do have a question about port pain. For the last 2 days it seems that I can't bend to far forward without having some pain in the middle tummy area above my belly button. Also when I am sitting at my desk or driving I find I have to sit up strait or there is some pain. Its not constant but comes and goes. Does this sound familiar to anyone?I am hoping it is just the port healing on the inside. I have my first post-op appt on June 2. TIA for any answers/help:) :grouphug: Angie

Hey Stitchy, I have not had any pain in that area, only by my biggest incision. I guess it take a good 4-6 weeks to fully recover. Just keep sippin and chew chew chew:D :grouphug:

Do you remember her name? No,Dr Mitchell did not do my surgery, It was one of the others and I don't know how to spell his name. Its French! It is a good feeling to be part of the first group to have this procedure done in Alberta. I go for my first follow up this Friday. I hope to get a date for my first fill. WHO did you see for your fill?

Hi Mandi My surgery was May 12th. Dr Cobourn was already back in Ont by then. My BMI was 41 and I am 5'8". I would tell your friend to call Dr Mitchell for a consult.

Hello fellow Canadians! I had my surgery in Calgary by one of the Dr''s trained by Dr Cobourn. There are 4 of them including Dr Mitchell who I saw initially saw to have my surgery. 2 weeks out and I am feeling great. Cloe, I hope you are recuperating and feeling well. Please let us know.

Hi all, I cannot believe it has been a week since my surgery. I am feeling great and ready for mushies. I still have bruising from the incisions but other than that, no problems. I plan to start by walking program this week and I know that will only help my weight loss. Cheers everyone!

DrewsLou - I am 4 days post op and I am REALLY getting tired of liquids. I have thinned out some yogurt with skim milk and it is going down okay. GoodLuck to this weeks banders!

Hi everyone, I had my surgery on Friday. For the most part it went very well. I spent about 6 hours in recovery, my breathing was very shallow. I spent the night and got home Saturday evening. It was good to sleep in my own bed. Feeling a little sore by the incisions ( i have 5). I am sippin soup, drinking water and juice. I will not get on the scale for 1 week. I am taking things slow for now. Hang in there everyone. I am so thankful for this site with all the great info and support.:clap2:

Thank you Cloe and everyone else for your well wishes and prayers. My surgery is tomorrow at 11 am and I am so excited. I have to be at the hospital by 8am and I have a 2 hour drive. Did anyone get "cold Feet" the night before? I sure hope I can get some sleep. Keep up the great healing for those already banded. I will report on Sat or Sun.

Hi to all May bandsters! I hope all that have had their bands are doing well. I had all my pre-op tests today and everything went great! Only 7 more days till my surgery. I am getting so excited. My DH is getting nervous. Just mostly about going under. I am very confident in my Dr's and I know everything is going to be great!

I started my 2 weeks of Optifast today. All I could get was chocolate. Its actually not that bad. I can have a small salad and baked potatoe for supper if Í want. :hungry: Pre-op is May 4 Surgery - May 12:clap2: Seminole - Where are you from?
-
Hi everyone, I was at my information meeting last night. Wow! They showed a DVD on the procedure. I don't get freaked out seeing that stuff so I thought it was interesting. I start my Optifast this Saturday for 2 weeks. For those who are on it, how difficult did you find it to just drink your meals for 2 weeks? Is it going to matter much if I have a small meal once in a while? I am glad I found this site before last night. most of the stuff that was discussed, I already had read here. Thanks to all who post tips. I too am looking at losing 100+ pounds. Can someone tell me how I keep track of my weigihtloss on my tickertape?
-
Its a numbing feeling to see the numbers, especially the amount I want to lose. No where to go but down!!!! Steady and slow is the way to go

Just wanted to see if my ticker works. I will be home late tomorrow so I will update everyone (about the pre-op diet, etc) on Wednesday. Stay positive:) Angie
