I am just wondering did every one have a preop liquid diet? I did not so I am curious as to the reason why I didn't. Guess it does not matter much now, but just wondering. -
Just checking to see how everyone is doing now?

Christy I hope your surgery goes well tomorrow. It's great you will have the help of your family since you sure have your hands full with all those babies. We are very similar in the amount of weight we have to loose so it will be nice to share that journey with you. Let us know know you are doing, I wish you well through this new adventure. Tracy

Wishing you lots of luck and looking forward to sharing the good news of your "new life" with you. Feel well and take it easy while you recover.

Redmom I have a 20 month old and a 2 1/2 year old. 6 Weeks........yikes. That's almost like having another baby and waiting for your 6 week check up....lol My boys are both skinny for their age.........ironic. My older one is not even 30 lbs and my little one at last visit was 26 lbs and a few ounces. With 2 in diapers there is lots of picking up goong on here. They are both in the same size diaper so that should give you an idea, and they are 11 months apart. Do you have someone to help you? I kinda look at it as we do what we have to do, right? And when we have things to do it's amazing what we will do. When my first son was born he was very sick and Airvaced to a Childrens Hospital 70 miles from my home. Well, they tell you not to drive for 2 weeks after the C-Section.......yeah right. I had a sick baby 70 miles away that I had never even held and I wasn't supposed to drive. NOT. Everyday I was at that Hospital, several days family members drove, but after the first week it was all me. Reember people have their own lives and go back to work etc... Anyway point being you will know what you can do and work around it. Change diapers on the floor or a bed where your child can climb to. And let her walk as much as possible, I know when Maxi was 18 months he was good about holding hands so try and see if that will help with the less lifting. All the best to you!

You have to go to USER CP in the upper left corner under the photos. And then go to you signature to add your icker. You have to go to the ticker site and get the URL for it.

I stayed overnight in the Hospital I had a Post Op Upper GI to check the band placement. I have 2 little babies so I was lifting things this last week. The first 6 days after I didn't, but when you have little one's to take care of they don't wait. I feel a lot better now and I am 10days out, still very soar at the port site, but that is to be expected. I'm just over the soft foods now. It's a hard transistion to adjust to.

Also, I found a heating pad helps a tremendous amount with the gas/pain. So get one if you don't have one. I used it daily for a week.

I'm sorry to scare you, I don't mean to. I just really felt unpreparred for the pain assoicted with it. But mind you A LOT of it from the gas which you don't have from the C-Section. The gas you have from the section they give you gas tablets, at least I did and I was up wanting ot see my babies. But from this all I wanted to do was rest. I hardly took any pain med from the C-Sections but I've used them this time. Maybe it's a whole different situation? At least I hope so for you. Sorry again, I would never want to scare you, I just really felt beat up after this and maybe if you knew ahead of time you will be prepared at least. They will give you pain meds in the hospital. I got them and they would have given me Morphine, but I declined it as it makes you neasus and I was already feeling like that. I was worried about vomiting so I took something else. Good Luck!

Congratulatiosn on your surgery. I too felt like I was hit by a truck after my surgery. I've had 2 C-Sections and by far this was worse. I took full advantage of the pain meds. So I can understand you not feeling great. like Pete said drink lots of Water it will help get the plumbing moving which will help you feel better. I was also hungry a few days out, I think is when I really started feeling hte hunger pains, my stomach physically hurt and not just from the surgery. But it does get better, I am approaching my 3 rd week and I have survived so far. I have just tried to look at it one week at a time, seems more managable to me. Feel well and get as much rest as you can, it helps.

Wow,I had not heard of this and I mavery upset to hear about it now. I lost a lot of hair after I had my 2nd child and I was taking a medication that cause it also. It is finally at a point where it does not look like an electrouted cat. I will be so sad to go through this again. Thanks for posting this so I can hopefully prevent if possible.

I'd be happy to hear of a good Protein shake also. I had my surgery the same day as you. Congratulations!
