  1. Happy 61st Birthday Demi!

  2. Happy 60th Birthday Demi!

  3. Hi, I hear so many of you say that you sleep on your sides after the LB surgery. Is that a forever thing? Or is that for a month or two until you no longer notice the cord and thing they left inside for the fills? Also, how much does it hurt when you get a fill?
  4. AngelicOne, I am so excited for you that you have lost almost 30 pounds in 4 weeks! WOOOOW! So fantastic!!! Way ta go! You go, girl! heee hee hee. That is so excellent and what an encouragement for me. How do you feel AO? Mind if I call you AO or Angela in my notes? Even with 20+ pounds less you probably feel much better, huh? Also, thanks for your reply and for your kind offer to be there for me and available for my multitude of questions. I appreciate it and I'll take advantage of your offer. When the doctor calls me, I am going to see if I can have the surgery done in May. I am going to be out of town for a couple of months between January and April and don't want to have to worry about having/not having time to recuperate and get used to my new life. AO, can you sleep in any position you want? Does your incision site or insert hurt? Can you feel it when you sit down? What if anything do you wish you knew before having the surgery? Can you swallow Vitamins? You know, since I know that LB surgery is in my program I have started thinking about every bite I take for size and chewing. How much food do you eat at a time, 1/2 a cup? Do you eat every few hours? Do you drink lots of Water? How about coffee in the morning? Ha, am I the question queen or what? Did you put your food in a blender during the mushy stage? I know I will find out the answers to many of my questions when the dietician calls me for another appointment, but it is so much better to get it straight from someone who has just had the surgery. Also, how much do LB surgeries cost in your area? Mine will cost around $20K but my insurance should over most of it. Did you stay in the hospital overnight? Phew! So many questions. I think I'll let you go so you can get some rest before you begin my answers! Also, it's time for some dinner. Congrats, again, for your great progress! Good Luck to you, too!!! :w00t:
  5. Hi, thanks for all the great advice. What are the best tasting nurtitious shakes on the market? Are they very expensive? I want to have the LB surgery done as quickly as possible, but my husband and I will be out of town for two months this year - maybe in Jan and maybe in March. I guess the best time to have the surgery would be when all our traveling is done and I have months in front of me to adjust. After the LB surgery, will it hurt when I try to sleep in my usual positons? I noticed you said ou slept on your side and on your stomach with a pillow under your torso. Thanks, again.
  6. Hi, AngelicOne, thanks for the reply. Knowing what you know now, you would do the surgery all over again? When you eat too much or the wrong foods, how much time do you have between knowing you over did and vomiting? Can someone make it to the bathroom on time? Also how hard was it to fight the hunger pangs while on liquid diet only. Online several doctors say to stay on all liquid for 21 days because one can stretch or hurt the sac (and not know it until much later - or never know it at all)? What liquids could you enjoy during that time? Thanks so much for your reply. By the way, can you eat pizza?
  7. Hi, everybody, I saw a lapband (lb) surgeon today for the first time. I really need to have the surgery and suspect I will do well, but I am wondering how badly I will miss the food I love now. Do you crave what you once could eat? Do you still eat pizza or Pasta or are those strictly no-nos? How much time off from work will I need to recover from the surgery? Thanks for your help.
