Recovering From Brachioplasty--Question With Pic
jujuvee replied to MississippiGirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I hear ya about the compression. What I liked best was tights. I cut the toes and waist out and wore them like sleeves. I don't like my arms and will be getting a redo in 5 months so I ditched all the follow up care since they're going to open them back up again. -

I think you can continue with the tape and compression for months and it helps. You can use any paper tape. I'm not sure about the puckering, seems like that would be smoother, but I'm no expert. -

Looking at your photo again I did not pay attention how your arm was turned. I thought the hump was your upper arm. My mistake. -

Did they not lipo your upper arms or is that just swelling. I'm going in for a revision because they need to lipo me.. And take more skin off. No charge though because we're doing it along with my thighs and breast lift. -
Scared To Death Of Plastic Surgery!
jujuvee replied to Cheryldee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had an anchor cut circumferential in November along with brachioplasty and seriously had no pain. I weaned myself off the heavy duty pain med's after week 2. I'm headed in for a thighplasty and breast lift in October and slight revisions to what was already done. My surgeon is a bit conservative and we both see more skin that needs to come off and a better tightening. That could be why I had no pain but I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I had 16.3 pounds removed and love that I can see all my girly parts!! Trust your surgeon and go in to it with a positive attitude and you'll be fine. Follow all the post op instructions and you'll be back to your normal self in no time!! -
I had 2cc in my 10cc band and my surgeon said it was fine. I had a circumferential body lift and 16.3 pounds of skin removed.

Married ladies, did your dh go to your PS consult with you?
jujuvee replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I probably won't make any friends with this reply but we're talking major surgery and I can't imagine not having my best friend and soul mate right there with me every step of the way. Not to mention that there is not a single part of my body that he does not know about. My husband went to my consult and asked some great questions. In my marriage we do things together and not because we have to but because that's why we're married. This is the man that helped make it possible financially to have this procedure and will be wiping my butt when I get home, dressing me, and wiping my tears when I'm in pain. Someone mentioned something about husbands not wanting to be apart of this stuff and just let them hold on to your purse...All I can say is WOW! Good luck with your consult and I truly hope you let your husband be apart of this big day. -
Lower Body Lift - Circumferential Body Lift
jujuvee replied to rosstheboss's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am scheduled for November 8th and along with getting the arms done it's costing me 10 G's. And honestly I think this is a pretty good price, but I understand those that go outside of the U.S and I'm sure that there are many safe and clean choices you just have to do your homework and try and get recommendations. I'm scared and excited but I know that I cannot wait to wear cotton panties again and maybe even a sleeveless dress!! -

jujuvee replied to jujuvee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I promise to keep you posted. I am excited that my surgeon is allowing me to lose a bit more before we do this. I just want to get out of the 200's. -
I'm super excited to say that I have a date for my cosmetic surgery. On November 8th I will be having a Circumferential lift and Brachioplasty (arms). Insurance is not covering any of it but this will be money well spent!! If anyone is curious the total is just a tad over 10.000.00.

Any suggestions for exercise to prevent skin issues?
jujuvee replied to dsb's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have worn SPANX underwear for years and I have never had a rash. if you don't have skin on skin and keep it dry (Gold Bond powder) this will help . -
Go for it!!!! I am in training for my 3rd half marathon ( running ) I'm not fast but I finish!! I have not updated my stats for a while but I am 2 years out and weigh 210. Just start off slow and worse case scenario you stop jogging and walk some.. Or maybe you jog some Some/ walk some... Crossing that finish line will make you feel like you're on top of the world.. Don't try to keep up with others, set your own pace. You can do it!!!! Don't ever feel self conscious.. All eyes are on you because people are proud not making fun of you!!! I don't check the boards often so if you ever want to talk send me a message and I'll send you my personal email!!!

how close were you to goal before your plastics?
jujuvee replied to KayleighsMommy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am getting the circumferential lift and my surgeon wants me to get to a weight and maintain it for 4 months before we start. I have been as high as 405 in life and started my bariatric journey at 374 and am currently 197. I have a huge pans and he said that people assume that it weighs more than it really does but that's it's only 9-15 pounds. But he wants me to get as close to my goal a possible because a significant drop after surgery will alter my results. I'm going to try to get to 185 before surgery. -
Great results. How sexy you must feel. I am currently at 197 size 16 and want get to 185 before I start my cosmetic journey. I have a big time apron and can't wait. I'm getting the procedure that goes all around the body. I hope my results look as good as yours!!!! Thanks for sharing your private pictures!!!!

Surgery December 8th Soooo Nervous Please help!
jujuvee replied to nicolerose's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Nicole I understand. You're results will still be fantastic. I'm paying cash for all my surgeries which is all the more reason I will be waiting. This is a lot of money and has to be a one shot deal for me. Keep us posted! -

jujuvee replied to nicolerose's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi Nicole. Sorry I can't answer your questions as I have not had my cosmetic surgery yet but I have a question for you. I'm 205 coming from 374 and my cosmetic surgeon and I want to wait until I get to 185 before we start any of the procedures because he wants me as close to my goal as possible... Are you concerned that if you lose a significant amount after surgery that you will have to redo any of these procedures?? That's why he wants me to wait until I get to 185 then he wants me to maintain for 4 months. -
I went almost 8 months without my first fill...for some people, just having the band around the stomach gives them restriction. I have now been banded a year and just got my 2nd fill a week ago.. I'm now 45 lbs from goal..... My doc says " if it ain't broke don't fix it " so if your losing weight I wouldn't get a fill... Wait untill you really need one.
-
oh wow!!!! No fill at all... I'm suprisingly happy with my one fill and am so excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel.. Congratulations to you too!

Twoderville and Onederville seem far away....
jujuvee replied to Megg40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh Sandi I can't wait to be 175. That's my goal after skn removal... May I ask you at what weight did you get your plastic surgery done and did you have to have your inner theighs and arms done? I will be self pay and I want to start educating myself on the process. Thanks! -
Just joined...no surgery..Yet.
jujuvee replied to cutepitmommy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pro... It has changed my life :0) Con... If you have trouble controlling cookies, chips ,chocolate and ice cream you're going to have a heck of a challenge on your hands because the band is all about restriction and these foods will turn into a liquid and slide right through... Seriously! But like I said it has changed my life and if I had to do it all over again I would still choose the band. -
Protien Shakes (Warning: Maybe TMI)
jujuvee replied to TN_girl21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Body Fortress... And that's pretty much exactly the way I make it!!! I always buy the vanilla powder because I can add it to oatmeal as well. I also add chocolate sugar free pudding powder to my Protein Drink and use my immersion stick blender and it's like a frosty.. Be carefull with the peanut butter.. I only add I tsp just enough to give it the taste.. But peanut butter is 100 calories a Tbsp and you could easily end up with a 400 plus calorie protein drink....( unless that's your intention ).. 11 months out and I love my choc/peanut butter protein drink!!! -
It's almost our 1 year... how is everyone doing.. I have good days and bad days but no matter what I keep going and never give up... I'm training for my first half marathon and that has continued to hold me accountable on exercise. I've just had the one fill and that seems to be fine for now.. I actually like that I have restriction but not so much that I can't eat breads and Pasta. I still have smaller portions. I can't believe that I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel....
-
Thanks.. I'll check those out

I went in to my orientation at 374. Got down to 345 after pre op diet.. Now 11 months later I am 235!!! My goal is to get in the 180's then off to get skin removed.. This has been an amazing journey!!!!! -
True.. Not all immersions are equal but I have a slushy chocolate peanut butter protein drink every morning and it's fast and with only 2 pieces it's a quick clean... I have never used a blender.. I bought my Cusinart for 48.00 on Amazon... I was suprised how heavy duty it was...
