I agree with both of you. I was approved by insurance on January 14 and had a surgery date less than a week later. You have to make it a hobby now and call everyday. Good luck :cursing: Julie

I found out today that I am getting banded on Feb 5th. I can't believe it is coming up so fast. I start the pre op on January 22nd. I think I am more scared of the pre op diet than I am the surgery :thumbup:. I really think it will be worth it though. Good Luck Feb Bandsters :w00t: Julie

IURN62, Aetna does cover it if your employer chooses to have it covered. It sounds like your employer chose not to cover the procedure. I would check with your employer to see if there is some kind of an exclusion before you take no for an answer. Sorry

I agree with you. Sometimes you have to fight with the insurance company. I also have Aetna and just got approved today. I can't really say anything bad though because it was just submitted this past Thursday and I got approval today.. I can't wait to get the surgery done and over with so I can start my new thinner life! Julie

I am not banded yet but my surgeon said that he puts you on that liquid diet for 2 weeks before to shrink the liver. He isn't concerned about if you lose weight or not. He just wanted the liver to shrink to make the surgery easier on him and me. If you are really concerned about it I would call your doctor or nutritionist and let them know that you aren't losing very much weight and ask them for advise. Good luck with your band :rolleyes2:

Hi :wink2: I am just getting started in this process. I am going to the seminar with Dr Webb on December 9th at Memorial Hospital. I was wondering if anyone knows him. A doctor recommended him to me but I was hoping to get another opinion. Also does anyone know if Aetna might be able to waive the 3 months of doctor controlled dieting if you have gone to Weight Watchers recently? I would LOVE to be able to get this done sooner rather than later. I have tried everything and really hope that this one will work Julie :thumbup:

That is aweful!! I can't believe he said that! I think you are in Jacksonville Florida because that is where Dr Cywes. I am going to a seminar at Memorial with Dr Webb on December 19th. I really hope that is nicer than that. Good luck :cool: Julie
