im really hoping for around march/april time. how come you not told your fella yet bigsister? what will he say when he finds out? has anyones other half said that they really dont want them to do it for whatever reason i.e cant afford it, insecurity?????? bigsis im surell ill find someone but hoping that my fella will be there with me all the way so in a way wont be alone. does anyone know what its like after being banded, drinking? can you still drink alcohol? does it effect you more quickly? do they recommend you stay off it? there is never anything on the internet about drinking? lol im 26 with 2 kids my boobies went south a long time ago and the wrinkly belly too so no difference there then hahaha. Is it hard to be good and do you ever feel like having a good binge or do you lose that craving for all the bad stuff knowing that if you eat it then you might just throw it all up again (sorry to be a pain) just not to sure what to expect afterwards . xx

Hi Flirtylass, just wanted to say congrats on how much you have lost and hope all goes well for you today i hope you dont mind me asking but as you have lost so much weight in such a short time have you found that things havent bounced back in to shape and you have been left with excess skin (im worried about this bit, i dont want to be left with saggy bits everywhere i have enough as it is lol). Hi Gillian the surgery programmes are usually on dmax on sky there usually on every night although there hasnt been that many recently, but they are really good and informative although they dont tell you about how hard it seems to be after the op it just shows the surgery and how they have done after. I just hope that i have the will power once the band has been fitted to not eat chocolate and sweets coz thats really where the weight comes from isnt it and even small amounts of sweets are still gonna add the calories and possibly put the weight back on, this is the thing i think im more worried about and you have paid all the money for it, oh better go bed now lol so night night girlies xx:confused_smile:

lol i think the staff will love having 2 people there who can at least have a good laugh, wish i was being banded at the same time to be honest haha at least your together and like you said you can compare notes on the good and bad but make sure you both keep in touch and let me know how you get on xx

i know what you mean about the husband and kids we went out shopping last sunday but i came home with nothing and he can home with pants shirts coat and kids also got something but i think he could see the disappointment on my face which has finally made him realise slighlty how serious i am about this, i have been fighting with my weight since i was about 14 so i think 12 years of yoyo dieting is enough now i have just come off the lipotrim diet which in 6 weeks i lost 33lb i felt great but i came off it for whatever reason and have managed to put on 15lb in 7 weeks so my bmi now is 40 so i just cant wait now to be me agian i dont want to be stick thin just a size 14 would be great i remember being so happy when i was that size and i was that size when i met my patner oh the good old days

well the doctor wasnt as helpful as i was hoping she said she will refer me for the op on the nhs but not until i have tried all the other options other slimming pills, for god sake i have done at least 15 diets that i can name off the top of my head but she wants me to try more slimming pills so she has perscribed me some food surpressants that i have to try for a month and have a check up in 2 weeks coz of my blood presure then if they dont work she wants to try something else (for at least 3 months at a time each one) then if they dont work she will refer me and then i could be waiting at least 2-3 yrs i know she is only being honest but it felt like she was is just brushing me off to get me out, and i asked her about aftercare if i have it abroad and she still never answered me she started to talk about something else but didnt realise till i got out, but they did off me a dietician last year to help with my weight so cant really see there being a problem can you??? oh well ill try these pills and just keep saving xx

i will do hun and thanks its been so nice being able to talk to someone who is in the same boat as me, and yeh i know what you mean about being able to walk into a normal shop. i went shopping with my partner yesterday and everything i tried on either didnt fit, couldnt find my size or it felt uncomfortable but i think that was when he realised really how unhappy i am so at least something came out of it. ill let you know what my doctor says tonight xx

glad you got your tickets hun cant belive its only 8 weeks away are you both getting nervous? I have my doc app tonight at 6 so fingers crossed she'll be nice to me hehehe and also had good chat with partner over the weekend and managed to persude him about it so looks like if my doc says no to nhs then hopefully it will be early ish next year so really pleased about that. Yeh she tried to ring but i couldnt answer coz i was in work, but she emailed me so i have emailed her back to ring me on my lunch, dont really know what to say to her thou coz want to see the doctor 1st and then need to have another chat with my partner about it but im 100% sure i will have it done early next year regardless. Keep trying on ryan air if not see if you can ring them. xx:smile:

I feel if i dont do it now then ill end up putting it off as my partner is trying to convince me that we cant afford it but i think this is something that will make me happier then its worth getting a loan for it. many Thanks tanya

Hi Gillian and wishful, i have been looking into having the band fitted for nearly a year and dr de bruyne has been the cheapest but obviously have my concerns about going abroad to get it fitted but these post's have put me at ease so much just wanted to wish you both luck and hope all goes well for you Tanya
