There are times in everyones life that there is emotional pain and ending a relationship is one of those times. A wise friend once told me that pain is inevitable but suffering is optional..I think that applies here

I want to look good naked. Ok, I will settle for looking better naked. -
I believe that has to be true because that is when I hit my stall. I have noticed that the fat % on the scale has gone down but the water weight % has increased. I have decided to be patient. I will get there one way or the other and I love that I am not gaining anything.

How to talk to your PCP?
Ruthi replied to learned2bskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally feel that when we stop putting physicians on a pedistal then our relationships with them as consumers will be alot better and patients can be more honest. Alot of information patients give the doctors is either a total lie or embellished due to fear of being judged. Fact is, they should be the ones that fear us, we are, like the statement above, the boss, we are in charge. There are other doctors out there and they could lose a paying patient. imho Doctors are just people and many no more educated than we are, they are just in another field. If they needed a building demolished, they would be coming to me. That when I choose to bow to them. Keep the ball in your court. -
You have just had major surgery, your body needs time to adjust and it wouldnt be surprising for it to take 2 weeks to do it. Have you ever had the flu that put you flat on your back for a few days? It takes at least 10 days to recover your strength and get back to normal. Hang it there, this too shall pass

I have to confess, I have been the one who has seen the fat woman/cute guy couples and wonder what the 'F.....? How did she get somewhat like that and why not me? I also wonder what their life is really like behind the scenes so to speak. Is he a wife beater, does he have some wierd hangups or fettishes. God who knows, maybe she just like to give great bj's. At any rate, I thought I would confess my curiosities.

I agree we can definitely grieve the loss of our love for food. It is like any addict who grieves over having to give up their fix for their drug of choice. A very normal response and a necessary one for us. I still watch the food network and like all of the same shows that tiffykins does. My daughter is a chef and a very good one so it became a natural thing for us to watch together. Her suggestion is to watch them create their great recipes and try to figure out a way to do the same thing in a healthier way. She is really good at it and I am learning alot from her. She is a natural talent when it comes to cooking. She takes after her grandmothers.

Tiffykins, How the heck are you girl, you have been missed, I mean....seriously missed.

Sagging skin after weight loss
Ruthi replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That reminds me of a sight my nephew and I saw the other day, I felt for the lady but I really had to laugh at my nephew and his comments. We were driving down the road and in front of us on the freeway was a woman on a motorcycle that had some fair sized batwings. Between the wind and the vibration from the cylce, her batwings were waving like a flag in the wind and making all types of shapes as she drove along. Just a visual for you. I know I had no business laughing because now, I am going to be cursed with them for sure. But teenagers and their comments crack me up sometimes. -
To Tell ....or not to tell

I have always said that the best revenge on an ex is being a succes yourself. Doesnt have to be your ex. But it is even more intense when it is your ex. I hope my ex's are nashing their teeth when they hear about me. I dont even have to speak to them. -
Losing 1-2 pounds a week.. is that ok?
Ruthi replied to lolizambrano's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think we are all different. I am a bit of a slow loser too. My weight loss is about 1 to 2 a week and that goes on for about 2 to 3 weeks then hit a stall, then pick up with the same slow weight loss and hit another stall etc etc. I know the heavier your are, the faster you lose at first but I think we all level off eventually. -
We can get soooo talented when we have to be. Necessity is the mother of Invention.

Its funny but when I was on the clear liquid stage, I kept having dreams about eating solid foods and forgetting I had the surgery too. I dont remember if any of it was fried chicken but I definitely dreamed of food.

Should sipping be getting easier?

Renee with Dr Aceves was the one that told me that the limited 2oz every 15 min was just for the 1st 3 days. I told her that some of these pre op instructions were not very specific and that was causing confusion. She said if I could tolerate it, drink as much as I wanted. It would be a good thing.
