Just up the road in Santa Clarita -
I second that notion 100%. I use this forum family to air all my thoughts, fears and concerns and they are the ones I go to for my proud moments too. I didnt tell anyone about my surgery except for my doctors and one friend who never sees people I work with or am related to. What they dont know wont hurt me. Keep the faith my friend. This will pass and we are here for all the support you need. If I come to San Diego, which happens from time to time, I will let you know and we can do lunch or shopping or something. We are here for you.

I want to fit into a size 8 again. I want to be able to dry myself after my shower without paying extra attention to all of the folds. The area under the girls is ok -
All I can tell you is the one that I have is 2 yrs old now and it has both the muscle mass percentage along with the water. It is accurate in that it matches my other doctor's scale. within a lb but then I am naked on my scale and clothed on his, so there is my 1 lb

Hey Steve, where in LA are you? Just curious, I am here too. -
Dr Aceves puts you on a clear liquid diet for 10 days, then full liquids for 10 days then mushies for ten. Regular food after 30 days if you tolerate everything else.

I also had my band taken out last March and had the revision on June 12th. I am 7 weeks out and have lost about 25 lbs. I love the sleeve in lieu of the band. Much better for my life style.

how about refried beans and melted cheese, cottage cheese and boiled egg mixture, yogurt, pureed meats, chicken salad and tuna salad. I eat alot of this even now when I am on solids.

You are having normal post op discomfort considering you had a hernia repair too. Repairing hernias involves muscles we use to sit up and just about every other activity we do so you will feel sore for awhile. Getting up and walking is the very best remedy for post op discomfort. Keep us posted on your progress.

How to talk to your PCP?
Ruthi replied to learned2bskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any physician worth his or her salt wont say anything negative to you. I saw my PCP and band removal surgeon last week. Both were entirely supportive. The surgeon who removed my lap band and did the partial sleeve said that my surgeon in Mexico was an excellent surgeon (he saw my xrays and results of my recent barium swollow and lab work) He is the chief of surgery for the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Services and an extremely good surgeon in his own right. When your surgery has been done, it becomes futile for him or her to say anything negative in lieu of supporting and treating you accordingly. -
VA is right, the incision usually heals nicely on its own and it remains open and drains for about 10 to 14 days, however, with that being said...If the area remains red and swollen and gets worse or does not improve, see your PCP or call Dr Aceves. It is ALWAYS good to keep your doctor informed early on with any possible complications.

Anyone experience long bouts of nausea?
Ruthi posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been extremely nauseated since Saturday around noon, I remember I was really getting hungry and had some precooked chicken I bought at Von's and soon felt nauseated. I felt bad all day Sunday and just didnt feel like eating or drinking. I mean like one bite or sip was more than enough. I did forget to take my nexium on Sunday and wondered that maybe I forgot it on Saturday too, but not sure. I delayed taking my meds today because I didnt want to throw them up again. No fever or major vomiting, just almost constant nausea especially if I try to eat. Anyone have any ideas on this? -
Jenny Craigs is under 100.00, I think I paid 50 something but I was a member

If I were you, I would double up on the snickers bars and go for a stripper in lieu of a belly dancer, oh and get some sf popsicles

I have been reading articles where the studies are showing those who get at least 8 hrs of sleep a night lose more weight than those who only get 4 to 6 hrs a night, so maybe its a good thing.
