    NSV shout outs

I bought a pair of size 12 slim leg jeans yesterday as an incentive but....they fit me now!!!! They arent event the stretchy type material or relaxed fit. I am sooo stoked.
  6. Geez, cant we all just get along? If anyone doesnt like what they read or see, no one here is going to make them stay here and be exposed to it. Thanks to all who keep this forum what it was meant to be. We have a kind caring forum family here, I would love to see it kept that way. PEACE

    Home and improving

I used Dr Aceves also. I didnt find anything about his leak rate online, I also did not hear or read anything negative from any of his patients online either at this site or OH and I am sure that if someone had a complication or bad experience, they wouldnt hesitate stating it everywhere that they could. All I saw online was positive. Both forums are large enough to cover alot of people. 0% complications is what I was looking for.
  8. LOL, if that were my doctor I would say F*** what he wants and be happy for myself. I did this for myself and I will not be happy on what a doctor says or wants, but on my own satisfaction. We give the MD's toooooo much power.

    Greens

An old lady in alabama told me to add a tablespoon of sugar to the pot (gallon of greens) it cuts the bitterness of some greens and it adds alot of flavor. There is a really big difference to the taste.

    Yaaaaaaay vsg!

I have lost 54 lbs since my lap band a year ago and revision 3 months ago, it doesnt seem like alot for a year but I equate that to (5) 10 lb bags of potatoes + almost a 5 lb bag. I cant even imagine carrying that around all day long every day. No wonder it was much easier to climb the steps at the theatre last weekend. I am not losing as much as some people after the VSG (only 27 lbs at almost 3 months) but its not a gain and its so gradual, I dont have to come up with an excuse for all the weight loss since no one at work knows about the WLS.

    Dehydration Issues.

Have you been to a doctor? These symptoms are signs of many things to include kidney infection, flu and other infections. Dont try to cure yourself. If something is going on, you could correct the hydration issue by curing the main problem.

    Nana's story

Yeah, V angel coined the phrase peacock poop. She is rather talented in that respect. Very fitting though isnt it?

    Pre-op diet day 3

It makes total sense. I ddnt tell anyone including family and found this was my only place to come and vent or talk about the single most important thing going on in my life at the time. Come to think of it, it still is.. I need to get another life LOL
  17. AJW I have reminded myself about your posts on this subject several times this week. I have been postal (terrible to be around a post menopausal woman with a letter opener when she is in a bad mood) all week with things that normally dont set me off but for some reason this week has been particularly bad. It may be partially due to the heat here but I think Mac's theory for this seems to be more accurate and makes total sense to me.
  18. 3 weeks seems to be a magical number for that stupid brick wall. I hit it about that same time and it was about 3 weeks before it went away. I lost a few more lbs and hit another wall, lost a few more and again a short wall. I average about 1 to 1.5 lbs a weeks nowand may not be as much or as fast as some and I do get very impatient at times but I am losing and not gaining. I didnt gain it overnight although sometime it felt that way, so I wont lose it overnight either. It probably has a lot to do with being post menopausal but who knows.

    Nervous and excited

The sleeve is only going to allow you to eat just so much food at a time but you will still be able to eat soft foods easier and in larger amounts than more solid foods so that part will come down to choices. I feel the best way to head off head hunger is to find out what triggers this reaction for you. Lots of times its emotional stuff or just habit but thats an individual type thing. Then substitute the eating behavior for something else. Hope this helps

    Nervous and excited

I think most sleever like their decision of getting the op but one thing alot of us struggle with is HEAD HUNGER. There I said it, that awful monster that creeps into every diet we have ever been on. Lots of comments on this forum about head hunger but no one but NO ONE can tell you how frustrating it can be to deal with after WLS. You just have to experience it for yourself. Its the one thing they cant remove. Its so embedded in some of our minds that it will haunt us at every opportunity. Yes, they get rid of the grehlin producing part of the stomach but they leave our cocky brains intact. Thats the part that we use when we are dealing with stress, a bad day or just uncomfortable situations. The ones we would have that caused us to unmindfully eat a bag of chips and half gallon of ice cream watching a movie. I dont want to discourage anyone from the sleeve. I still love mine. Just want you to keep head hunger in mind.

    Nana's story

Ahhhh peacock poop, normal for post ops, comes from the blue apple juice. Just remember, liquids in, liquids out. Keep us posted.

    New to this

Hi and welcome Austin! I too am a revision from band to sleeve. You will never regret the sleeve. I am really happy with mine. Make sure you select a good surgeon to do your revision especially if you have to have a hiatal hernia repair. Those can be tricky for some surgeons without a lot of experience with the sleeve.
