V angel is right and I had the very same worry before surgery. I had a previous surgery and was afraid that he wouldnt be able to do this one. Renee his coordinator told me that if anyone could do the surgery, he could and not to worry. My frets were for nothing.

Have a wonderful time Tif, we will be here ready to hear about you time with friends and family.

It is sort of wierd that we can be so different. You are barely able to eat and I can eat just fine,I worry that I can eat too much and hope that changes with solid foods. I am glad you are getting Dr Aceves to check that out for you when you are there with Bob
-
Me too, just think V Angel, we are going to be on solid foods in another week. Thats almost scarey.

Congrats on your decision, You are going to love your new life and this forum. Welcome to our sleeve family. -
I have eaten them also and I do like them but there are lots of people that dont, I know you have to follow the package directions on rinsing though, it is the key to their success and they are low calorie as well as low carb. Great in soup and with fresh sauces, You can buy them in the grocery stores too and find them in the tofu section.

I havent noticed any change at all yet, but it only been about 3 weeks -
Good, because I did break a sweat and did those 2 miles in 30 min. I felt the muscles in my legs twinging afterwards too so I know it had some effect. Thanks for the input Wassa!

? IF your ins paid for VSG, would you still go to Mexico?
Ruthi replied to AJW's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I would still go to Dr Aceves due to his history of having no leaks, I couldnt afford to be sick and have to have another surgery afterward since I had had a major surgery to remove the band. I could have waited a year and have the VA do it but then I would have wasted all of the money I spent for the band with gaining back the weight. -
Is the sleeve a second WLS surgery for most?
Ruthi replied to attitudefree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I experienced pretty much the same thing except I only had my band for 6 months and I too gained back some of the weight. I wish I had gotten the sleeve in the first place but even as far back as last spring and summer when I was researching bariatric surgery, there was not alot of info about the band and the surgeons that performed the procedure were few. Even in a city as large as LA there are only a couple that do them now. I am very happy I got the sleeve. -
I have been having the boiled egg and cottage cheese mixture for breakfast and one small egg with 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese is just about right for me. It goes down well and packed with protein. It is my favorite thing so far.

Wow 250.00 for a consult is steep enough. What would your deductable be?

Alot of people get the lap band because they dont know about the sleeve. I was in the lap band support room the other day (no one in our room) and when I mentioned the sleeve they almost all chimed in at once asking me what the sleeve was.
-
Vangel, I tried the boiled egg and cottage cheese mash and it was wonderful, I could eat that every day.
-
I get low carb yogart at Ralphs and its a Ralphs store brand. I will check and see if I can find it in other stores

I can relate to the addiction part of the board, I didnt really think I was addicted until the other day my internet went out for most of the day and it was driving me crazy not to be able to log on. I had to laugh at myself but realized that this is so much of a replacement for eating also, and I have the need to talk about something that is such a huge thing in my life..
