This is my first time on this site. I was banded on May 2009. My starting weight was 289. I've see a nutritionists every month to help me with my choice of foods. After the first 6 month, I always seemed to be hungry all the time. The nutrititionist told me to see the surgeon and ask for an adjustment. The surgeon refused to give it to me. He said that I'm losing without an adjustment. At that time, I was about 250. I'm currently down to 208. I pleaded with the doctor to give me an adjustment because i feel like the only reason i was losing weight was because i lived in the gym. EVERYDAY. He finally gave it to me on Thursday, 3/4/2010. It is KILLING me. I cannot eat anything. He gave me 4ccs. Maybe it was too much, I don't know. In the morning, i usually eat egg whites and spinach with swiss on a wrap with pink grapefruit. The wrap bread and the cheese kills me so i cannot eat it anymore. Just the eggwhites and spinach. That will hold me for 2 hours then I'm hungry again. For lunch i had broccoli and grilled salmon. The salmon killed me so i stopped eating it. Any suggestions because right now, i'm starving. I just had a Fiber one bar but that will not hold me for long. I need help. Will i get used to it? Right now, I'm too scared to eat anything. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :tt2::sad::tt1:

I try to drink alot of water because i absolutely LOVE water but I've noticed that when i drink water or any juice cold, i get terrible shoulder pain. Why???? -
I definitely need some support. I've been banded on May13th. So far I've lost 13 pounds in 7 days. Starting tommorrow, i can eat mushy foods. I still have those "big girl cravings". I suck on puffed cheese doodles and it goes down with no problem. I eat italian ices. I love it. I haven't thrown up yet. I've been eating the italian ice and cheese doodles for Breakfast while i was on leave from work. I also drink muscle milk and unjury. I've also had sugar free Jello. The doctor says that i'm still losing weight. I go to the gym 2 times a week every week. Does anyone get those loud growls in their stomach ?(almost embarassing in public) I did not know whether it was hunger pains or just gas. Maybe someone can help me, I went back to work on Monday, 5/26. In the morning,( at 6:00am) I have a Atkins shake (i only drink half). When i get to work (at 9:00am) I get a small bowl of grits and i drink the other half of my shake and i'm full . (could not take the italian ice and cheese doodles to my office job, lol) I go to lunch at 2:00pm. I get so bored at work so i think about food. I try to drink my muscle in the mid day but it only holds me for an hour. Can anyone suggests any foods that i can eat that will really hold me? I really want to suceed at this but i know i need help I'm not really that computer literate and i'm looking for lap band friends that has been through what i;m going through now. My email address is: oldschool1026@yahoo.com Thanks:thumbup::crying::thumbup:

I feel for you. I had my surgery on May 13th. The doctor had me on a 2 week liquid diet . I never did it. On May 12th, I went to Burger King at lunchtime and had me a whopper meal and i enjoyed it. I went to the gym afterwards and worked out hard for a hour and a half. I had no complications with my surgery. Mary, I'm not a shake person so my nutritionists requests muscle milk and i hate it. I drink it anyway but i hate it.

Hi Janet, I'm new to this site. I've done all the tests. I should be banded by may 09. I've joined Ballys and i've lost about 20 pounds. I've found my nutritionists very helpful. She explained to me about the food journals. She's also told me to think about what i eat before i eat it. I have high blood pressure but my doctor wants to take me off the medication but she wants to wait until i'm banded first. I also have problems with my knees. Since i've been going to the gym, i haven't had any problems with my knees. I've been reading afew of the things that other people have written and ( i not sure if it's just my nerves)I curious, why have the surgery if you have to practice restraint (not sure if thats the right word). From what i've been reading, the band is slower than gastric bypass. So, if you stay away from sweets and high calorie foods,(exercise also) won't you lose it without any surgery? If so, what's the surgery for? I don't mean to sound negative, i'm just curious. All of my friends are overweight and we all talk about ways to lose weight. My best friend had gastric bypass 5 years ago. She started at a size 34. She went down to a size 14. ( with lose flabby skin everywhere) She's went back up to a size 22. Now she wants to be banded. Back to me, can someone get to me with a response.

I didnt know anything about these fills that everybody's talking about. I'm scheduled for surgery in february. I thought that once they put the band in, they fill it at the same time. So, they put the band in first, (empty) then you have to come back so they can fill it? That sounds painful.
