    I feel like a failure.......

Gee, I've lost exactly 40lbs in 6 months and I was feeling pretty darn proud of myself! I have another 60+ to go but I'm not in a race or anything. Most days, most of the time, I make good choices. Some days I don't. As long as I do MOST days...I'm a happy camper. I would say, give yourself a break, see if maybe you need a small fill, and make the right choice MOST days. :rolleyes2: Good luck.

    Countdown to Onederland!

I'm at almost 6 months out, I've lost 39 lbs and I'm stuck at 216! Arghh...any words of encouragement? I can smell Onederland but can't quite see it yet...

    Traveling with the LapBank

I have flown to Europe twice since I got the band (from the western US) and had no probs whatsoever. And...my doctor RECOMMENDS small amounts of red wine. So bottoms up and have a great time!

    What a difference .5cc makes!

That is great news! Can I ask...how many fills did this take?

    Hi from Ireland!

Greetings from the US. I will be in Killarney (Cork) in two weeks, as I am considering moving to Ireland. I am an American who had the lap band in Dec. 2008. I am 11 weeks out and have lost about 22 lbs. How tough is it to get fills/support for lap banders in Southern Ireland? Thanks, in advance.

    Hi a little frustrated

I'm in the same place you are. I lost 14 lbs one week after surgery and I haven't lost anything since. (I'm on week 3). And I have 3 more weeks before my first fill! I haven't gained anything back but I agree it's frustrating to lose a lot at first, and then nothing. Good luck!

    I need Coffee!!

I was banded 12/30 and could drink coffee the next day. My dr. has no probs with me drinking coffee or tea. I would ask your dr. why? Does he think decaf is ok? Good luck.

    Banded...Day 2

I remember being so grateful to those people who shared their experiences right after banding. They were very helpful, so I hope this does the same for others... On 12/30, I arrived at the hospital at 10:30am. I'll admit I was nervous, but I was also sure I was doing the right thing. I put on the gown, peed in a cup, they started an IV and took blood samples. (Nothing too painful, really). My surgery was at 1:00pm. Because I'm slightly squeemish, I asked the anesthesiologist if he would put me out BEFORE we got to the OR. I didn't really want to see the bright lights, cold room, OR table, etc. He said sure, so I kissed my boyfriend and off I went to lala (lapband) land. I woke up about an hour an half later although the surgery was only about 30 minutes. I won't kid you, I felt rotten. But that's when you ask for those great drugs! After some drugs and a cup of tea (so they could see I could drink OK) I walked around the hospital doing some very slow "laps" to get the gas moving. They gave me some broth and Jello but I wasn't too hungry. And I was home by 6pm. Yesterday I took it VERY easy. Lots of naps, and pain meds every 4 hours. I could probably go longer between meds but I want to stay in control of the pain. The main is mostly gas/cramps/sore belly. I have four incisions which are healing nicely and I was allowed to take a shower yesterday which made me feel better. So here I am day 2. Woke up early, took meds, have been walking around the house while everyone sleeps and drinking lots of Water. I feel sore, but I'm glad I did it! Hope this helps anyone out there thinking about this.
  9. I'll be banded in Phoenix on 12/30! What is it about the adjustments that worries you? I've heard they're a piece of cake. Don't worry, we're starting a wonderful journey and it will be worth it.
