  1. Hi, I was lap banded in Belgium and so far so good even managed to go to work on Monday although I am a little sore. I am interested in speaking to anyone who booked their procedure through Tulia at French Cosmentic Surgery Ltd as the people who had the surgery in my group, where not happy with the treatment they received with regards to the extra money she charged us, after guaranteeing the surgery at a pre-fixed price. I have sent a complaint as requested by the doctor to his ligistics manager.

    Anyone getting banded in January

Hi Tamisu, When I paid the sterling the value was approx EUR 4,000.00. I have sent them an email as their website is still advertising in sterling, also my sister was interested but this has now put her off. Have you been given a diet to follow (pre op)? See you on 22nd, I am staying at the Camponile

    Anyone getting banded in January

Hi, Nothing in my original letter, however they did say that if I paid in November (which I did). The price would be guaranteed. I have sent them an email asking when they converted the funds to EUR's as the exchange rate in November is different to what it is today and I don't believe they still have the funds in sterling. I could have sent them EUR's however they asked for a sterling payment. I am awaiting their response.

    Anyone getting banded in January

Hi, I am due to be lap banded in Belgium on 23rd January by Dr De Bruyne in Vilvoorde, however they are now trying to charge me an extra £720.00. I originally paid for this in November (£3,250.00). They are now telling m ethat due to the exchange rate the surgery will cost more. I have sent them an email as I would have expected the exchange rate in November to be applied to my funds and not todays. I know that there are a few people form the UK scheduled for surgery on the same date. Has anyone else been advised of this? They did tell me if I don't agree to pay the extra they will refund me but I have already bought the flights etc so will loose out on this too.
  5. Hi, I have recently signed up for the lap baning in Brussels with Dr Bruyne and hope to have it done in Jan 2009. I have been told that I can have the surgery on Friday, travel back to the UK on Sunday and go to work on Monday. Does anyone know if this is correct? Also I would like an indication of how much weight people lost in their 1st few months. I have to loose 50% of my bodyweight is this achievable?

Hi Tammy, I am flying in from Heathrow on Thursday and I am fkying back on the Sunday as I plan to be at work on Monday. The reason I picked Belgium for the surgery was because of the cost and I used to live in Luxembourg and a few people I knew got treated in Belgium. As far as I know I get to leave the hospital on Saturday at 1.00 pm. It will be good to have folks to talk too as I am coming on my own. I have only told a few close friends about it as they knew me before I piled on the pounds and at least they undertsand the frustration I have had with dieting, losing weight only to put it all back on again.

Hi, My Op is scheduled for 23rd January also. I am flying in from London and I assume that I am staying at the Campanile also. I arrive on Thursday and I am scheduled at 7.00 am in the clinic. I feel quite nervous as I have never had an op before but I still want to go ahead with it.
