well I have been banded for 5 months now and have gotten about6 fills so far I think I have 8cc in 14 cc band. Im freaking out cuz I thought I finally got restriction 6 weeks ago with my 6th fill and all was going great untill about 2 weeks ago. I can eat anything pretty much. I dont get it. I am so afraid of having a leak because Im selfpay and cant afford this. I see the doc in the morning and maybe he can tell me what is going on.

I dont agree with these posts. My God how many snow days do you have? 2 a year have a dang cookie and some hot cocoa LOL I know there are alot of traditions to give us excuses to eat but pick a few ya love and do them.
-
aww thanks guys. If i can do this anyone can. I loved to eat and it amazes me how this band works:)As far as pics go I dont know how to do it and also I have 170 lbs more to go but if i get there I will figure out how to post pics:)

whats wrong with asprin? I still take an 81mg for my heart. Should I not be?

You kinda sound like me. I think I need a fill because If I eat slow and chew I can eat more than a cup of food but if I eat just a little too fast or the wrong food I PB every time. DONT eat anything dry and chew very well and eat slower and see how that works. Im 5 months into this and still eat way to fast. When will I learn LOL

To tell or not to tell, that is the question...
marmar replied to LeighaMason's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I told everyone. I look at it this way. Im not doing this on my own the band is helping me. I have had so many people come up to me and say WOW you look so wonderful. And I tell them about the lapband. I dont want some fat person telling me how wonderful Im doing and me letting them think Im better than them and I can lose wight and they cant. I tell them so maybe they will get the help too. -
started this journey at 424 pounds- now I'm maintaining
marmar replied to sandi2004's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh my gosh!! that is so awesome. I started at 464lbs Im 5'10". I got the surgery about 5 months ago and am down 115lbs:) I already feel so much better. I am so happy for you and hope I can be as successful. -
So I have been wondering how common is it for the doc to poke a hole in the band? And if they do,do they know instantly? The reason Im wondering is my doc roots around and pokes me 2-3 times to find my port and Ive had 6 fills so far and was wondering if he did poke a hole in it would I know? I dont think he has but wow Im a self payer and can not afford for that to happen. I felt restriction the last time he put a fill in but it only lasted a couple weeks:( is this normal? I go back for another in 2 weeks.
-
every time I go see the doc for a fill he has a hard time finding the port. I get poked 2-3 times and he roots around with the needle OUCH. I can handle the pain but i am starting to think the port moved or is starting to flip or something. I asked him and he said its fine just hard to find. Im starting to worry hes going to puncture the tubing or something. should I be freeking out or trust him.He seems to be getting the fill in cuz I feel restriction finally but geez

Oh my gosh that could be. I have lost 110 lbs (have lot more to go) and My butt hurts in the same place. I didnt think it had any thing to do with my weight loss but wow it kinda makes sense.

Why I'm considering a lawsuit...
marmar replied to rlynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldnt waste any more money on a law suit cuz ya wont win. You havent even done anything to make the band work. It took me 6 fills to reach restriction but I knew it would because I did my research. Once I got it I thought this must be heavan. This band is working ! Ya the band is pretty much useless if ya dont have enouph fill in it. Save some money and get a fill. -
Tips for an affordable reconstructive plastic surgery after WLS.
marmar replied to Nurit's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Oh my Gosh you give me so much hope! I have about 250 to lose and Im down 100 of that and I have been thinking how in the heck will I be able to afford plastic surgery ( I am gonna need it BAD) I had to pay for my lapband surgery and I had a hard enouph time coming up with that$15000. I had some ? . Was that airfare too? I want an armlift tummy tuck, thigh lift and breast implants. I could never afford 40-50 grand geez!. How were the facilities. and the docs? Did they speek good english? Also what if something goes really wrong? do they take care of it or ship ya home messed up? Again Thanks for the hope. Im so glad you got everything done. You worked so hard to get it:) -
go to the emergency room they have to take care of you. Then set up a payment plan. Most hosp. are great with this. They will take $10 a month if thats all you can swing

Please help me...I'm at the end of my rope here
marmar replied to tallymia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Plain and simple GET FILLS UNTILL RESTRICTION!!!! It may take a few. With out restriction its like you dont even have the band. -
It all depends on how much a person needs to lose. I had 250 plus to lose so the weight has been falling off. But its starting to slow down to 3 lbs a week. And Im sure it will slow down even more. If someone has 100 or less to lose Im sure it wont fall off as quick...Just my opinion

marmar replied to lkarelee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What the heck it taking so long with your fills? I got banded in sep. and I went in every 2 weeks untill I got restriction. I just got it 3 weeks ago and it is such a difference. Why are you waiting so long to get fills? -

Ive lost 110 lbs so far in a very short time 4 1/2 months and I know nothing is going to help my gut but a tummy tuck but I always had awesome facial skin, healthy and glowing with no wrinkles but lately Ive noticed fine line all over my face like a deflated baloon:( What can I do aboutthis problem? I also lost my glow. I just look tired  -

Feeling my port freaks me out a little...
marmar replied to ChrisW123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats a good ? My port is so deep I can hardly feel it unless I push real hard and the doc has a little trouble almost every time he does a fill. The last time he filled me he poked me 3 times.I wish he would have put mine closer to ther skin. I was wondering if mine moved or something. Is it normal to be too deep as well? -
WL contest-do i have an advantage
marmar replied to daqui26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just joined curves 2 days ago and they told me about the contest and I told them well i have the lapband and they said there are 3 people that have had weight loss surgery in the contest. I dont think its fair so I didnt enter. I could never ever have lost the 100lbs that Ive lost without this band so it must be an advantage. -
I got my lapband done by Dr Ali. I couldnt be happier. Im down 100lbs in 4 months.
-
Well Im far away from plastic surgery but I will need it all done cuz I have 300 lbs to lose (Ive lost 100 of it already) Im wondering how they do lypo and an inner thigh lift when a person has huge bulging vericose veins. I mean what if they hit one while doing lypo?
