Hi - I have been reading through the posts and have decided to join. I want to learn and get as much information as I can about weightloss surgery. I currently feel that the gastric sleeve is the best option for me. I also want to make a decision about the best surgeon for this procedure, and contemplate 'taking the plunge' into surgery in the fall of 2009. Best wishes - Kathy.

I appreciate your entries on researching surgeons 101 and checklist of questions. You have said that there are a few doctors that you would advise against, but you haven't said who. I have done a fair amount of research & have narrowed my search to 3 surgeons (I am specifically interested in the gastric sleeve procedure). If I told you the 3 candidates, would you consider sharing additional information that you think I should have before making a final decision? This can be any information (ie. the facility, staff, skill, experience, other posts about the surgeon - good or bad, experiences you've read about - good or bad)? If you are not comfortable doing this, I understand, but I appreciate that you have done MUCH research that could help me make a final decision. If you don't feel comfortable posting, I would appreciate an email, if you are willing to do this. Thanks in advance. Kaylene.
