Hello, I haven't gotten a date yet but it will be in December. I just started my pre-op diet. I am nervous and excited at the same time. My 10 year old daughter is my inspiration. I am also B-polar and have depression and anexity. My Phych was worried about me having surgery but I think it will help me as well. Most of my depression comes from being overweight. I just looking forward to being healthy, I want to loose my diabetes and high cholestrol and help me on my asthma. I'm 51 years old. Most of the men in my family have heart attacks between 55-60 and all but one has died. I do not want to go down that road. My insurance will pay 90% of my surgery but after January 1, 2009, it will only pay 80%. I'm patiently waiting to hear from the insurance company on this.

Hello, I'm also bi polar and have been for most of my life. I'm suppost to have my lapband in December 2008. I'm ready for it. I'm tired of being fat. I have alot of mood swings myself. I love my wife and she is very understanding. When I start mouthing (mostly it's about nothing), she just lets me get it out my system and then tells me how much she loves me. I haven't worked since 2004 and I've been on disability until they took it away from me this past September, but I'm trying to get it back. My doctor at first was kind of leary about the band, he was thinking about my depression, but then he said it might do me some good. I'm just waiting on my insurance to give the ok. Johnny

I have been diagnoised with Bi Polar and depression, anixety for 13 years now. I take my meds and I'm overweight. I also have diabetes, high cholestrol and asthma and reflux. I want to loose weight and I've tried regular diets but it never works. I have started the procedure. I just did my X-ray, Psh evaluation and deitician on Thursday. I'm just waiting to hear back from my insurance. I will be having the surgery in December 2008. I'm excited and nervous too. I have a lot of people supporting me and I'm ready to loose my weight. I'm depressed alot because of my weight. I love horses, me and my 10 year old daughter raise and train colts. We halter break them and get them used to leading and touching. We love it. I want to loose weight so I can be with my daughter and feel good and I also would like to see my grandchildren one day. I have United healthcare insurance and it pays 90% until 12/31/2008 and then only 80% after 1/1/2009, so I'm getting it done by then end of the year. My Dr. is Ikram Kureshi at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Tx.
