I was banded on 3/3/09 by Dr. Artuso at SFH and I am very pleased both with him and the facility. He is a quiet, caring man who is very gentle and thorough. The SFH staff in his office (Pat & Dorothy) are also very nice. The same-day care at SFH was very good. My only complaint would be that I was in x-ray for what seemed like forever after my surgery (to make sure I could swallow & that the band was in place.) The aftercare is good as well (ie my monthly visits for weigh-in & fills.) They run on time & you aren't sitting in the waiting room forever. The monthly support group meetings are also good...I just wish we met more than once a month.

Hi there, My name is Sheryl and I just completed my one day workup before surgery. I don't have a date yet, but I'm interested if there's anyone out there who, like me, has a LOT of weight to lose (or if you're a lucky dog who's already lost a lot of weight...if so, PROUDYA!!) I am worried because I've been hearing a lot of stats that say you lose 60% of your excess weight...which is just ducky, but I kinda would like to be on the downside of 200 lbs. before I die...even if it does take me 2 years or so to get there. If anyone out there has anything to share, please do so..would love to hear from you! Sheryl in NY
