Thanks for the prayers everyone! I got home around 4 yesterday. Was a very painful day but I am feeling a little better today. Ready for all the pain to go away so I can enjoy the fact that I've started my new life!! Looking forward to reading and posting great outcomes on this thread. We'll all band together and be april achievers also!!

AMEN!!! I was banded yesterday and was NOT prepared for this degree of pain!! The post I had read must had forgotten. I woke up in pain!! Getting up and down is WOW.. painful! The pain meds help me sleep but they don't really help the pain. He gave me liquid lorcet, phenergan suppositories, (SP) and I purchased gas x strips. What's everyone else taking? -
Just a few more hours!! I have to be at the hospital at 5:15 and we live 2.5 hrs away so I'm about to get some sleep. I want to thank all of you for the prayers and thank you in advance for the prayers that are to come. I'm a little nervous, which I guess is normal .. I'm ready for the surgery part to be over and continue the journey to a new life... one I can live out more for our Savior!!

Just a few more hours to go! I got the call to be at the hospital at 5:15 in the morning. I live 2.5 hrs from there so I'm about to get some sleep. A little nervous, alot excited.. and ready to be on the loosing side!!

Postopers of Miles or Schmitt..... how long after your arrival time (day of surgery) was your surgery scheduled? I got a call today telling me to be there at 5:15... I live 2.5 hrs away.. WOW thats early. But anyway, I have family that wants to come and wondered what time surgery actually is?? -
A while back I was encouraged to print pictures of things I wanted in life (new home, new car etc) to keep me on track with my finances. I thought this idea would be great for NSV's. also. Does anyone else have this? I've printed some pictures from yahoo of things I look forward to being able to do again or do for the first time. I'll tape them to a poster board and hang it somewhere I can see it DAILY to remind me during the hard times, that thin will feel good! Things like going skating again, swimming, to the beach, horse back riding, go carts, etc.... It will be fun to add more and then take aways as I can do them!! Anyone else doing this?

2 more days for me too! Well one and half lol. I'm like you, more nervous about failure than the actual surgery. I haven't had time to really worry about the surgery due to trying to be ahead at work and home so I can relax and take care of myself during post op. Liquids tomorrow and nasty prep. Not looking forward to that but THANK GOD I didn't have to do 2 weeks of liquids. Keep me updated on how yours goes!! Do you have a surgery time yet?

Hey! Yes we had the preop visit Friday. The hospital part too 2 hours for lab and going over everything with the nurse. For the most part, they were nice but slow lol. I had the meet with Dr. Miles after that. It didn't take long. He is always so nice! He made sure my husband and I didn't have any questions... went over the importance of exercise, told us his wife has a lapband.. (I think he only mentioned that when I asked about the recovery pain.. and he said she did fine) Other than that, I'm waiting for a call tomorrow to let me know what time to be there Thursday. I dread the preop drink YUCK!! The closer it gets.. I get more nervous but work and home is keeping me SO busy I don't have much time to think about it lol. I'll keep you updated!!

I'd never heard anything about the shot in the stomach until they mentioned it in our nutrition preop class the other day. I actually had forgotten about it again lol. I hate to hear that you had to deal with so much pain but glad it's gotten better. Keep us updated and send that soup receipe when you can. Congrads on being in band land now. The best is yet to come!

That's what I am worried about. I know what I have to pay upfront but I'll be scared to go to the mailbox after it's over. There has to be SOME way for them to give me an estimate! It don't sound like they will allow me to stay the night but I might ask him about it. If you could email the EOB to me that would be AWESOME!! wendy@fourroux.com -

At our nutrition class last week, we were told that Friday (4/11) would be his first time to use it. The patients were given the option of which one they wanted. I can't remember for sure if he is the only one certified in Alabama but I know she said Dr. Miles is going to the seminar to be certified soon so only Dr. Schmitt patients can get it at this time. I am using Miles ...not sure which is worse.. having the choice of which band or not having a choice lol. -

totally off question here... but with the unjury... how do you mix it? I am about to purchase the sample packets but wondered how many scoops equal a drink and do you mix it with water or ff milk? Thanks!

Congrads Nina on getting started. I did finish my 6 months diet. It flew by. I am still looking for a place to try and hold the support meetings. I plan to see if my boss will let us have it in our conference room. Not sure what all liability is in that though... uughh lawsuits have made life so hard. I don't really know where else to call about borrowing a room.
