  1. Gentlewind..........all I can say is Dang girl! You nailed it on the head for me.I too thought it was going to be easier even though my surgeon's office was very honest with me about preparing me for the hunger & me having to make it work for me instead of the band doing all the work.Food choices are crucial, your right.Once an addict always an addict. It's crazy.Feeling hunger & learning to deal with it is crazy.I know I need to jump on the exercise "band-wagon" too.But wow that was really so well put, exactly what you said. Thanks for the insight & bringing it back home!!:bored:
  2. I've gotten food stuck twice......crackers once & bread.....I walked around did some heavy "lamaze" style breathing and finally bent over the toilet, relax and resigned myself to barfing and "wa-la" it passed.(first time)Second time same scenario but I did Pb & alot of sliming!! All in all it hurts like a mother & it is NOT alot of fun.But talk about a "learning" experience!! Hang in there!!:bored:
  3. What's the deal with straws?? Are we ever going to be able to drink with one ever again?? I know this isn't life altering or anything but I was just wondering??

    Drinking with straws?

Thanks guys!! I think I'll clarify again with my Doc at my next check-up.ALthough it sounds as though all those of you that are using straws are no worse for the wear!!
  6. Hey there.........Just saying Hi! How are you feeling with the root canal?Hopefully better!

I'm feeling much better finally. How are you feeling with your fill?I seem to be holding steady again with the weightloss....

  7. How is your restriction now? Do you feel it? That price seems really good I think my surgery bill I saw for the insurance company was close to $50 or $60,000....crazy,huh?

    Drinking with straws?

Really??? They never told you straws were a "no-no"??
  9. Hey Luluc, Has anyone ever told you that you resemble Katie Holmes??I love your posts by the way!!:w00t:
  10. Wow in Mexico? Did you have to self pay? How much is that if you dont mind me asking?? How much do you have in your band? do you have to go there for fills? I didn't see where you live??

I've had one fill of .5cc,your right they are strict here about fills and all the other red tape.It took me like 2 years to even get approved for surgery.

  11. Hey thanks for accepting!! How's everything going?? :)

  12. How far out did you say you were? I had surgery 11/11/08 so I think I'm only a couple weeks ahead of you.Have you had your first fill yet?? I hope I'm doing this posting right,I'm not very good with this whole web posting thing! LOL :)

    bellas

Wow you are soooo pretty! I'm sure you always here that! You look like your doing awesome with your weightloss...you go girl!!
  15. I had restriction from day 1 after surgery.I had to argue with Doc to get 1st fill and then was only given .5cc.I had my doubts but continued to lose weight. When I saw my surgeon again at 9 week check-up thought maybe I would get another .5cc or 1cc.But no she felt my weightloss is good and portion size was good so no fill.I've continued to lose weight and am learning to relax and trust my band to do what it's suppose to do and it is! It's hard to trust after a lifetime failure.
  16. Thanks Terri, I think I might have had one along time ago and I think I liked it too.I'll have to check those out. Teal
  17. Hockeyson, You sound like you have great restriction.I still have a hard time with meat, espicially chicken.I can do ground beef but not any kind of dry meat. It's nice to have met you,I love this forum it expose's you to so much info. Take care,Teal :w00t: I'm going to check out those tapes too!!
  18. Hockeyson, Thanks sooo much for the well wishes! Your stats are great too! As far as exercising I'm kinda ashamed to admit I haven't been as faithful as I should have been.I try to do the treadmill at least 2 to 3 times a week.My surgeon said I need to put in 300 mins. a week. I atribute the quick results to severely overeating prior to surgery & indulging in Starbucks like everyday.I think I have really good restriction and am not able to eat at all like before surgery.I was soooo ready to do this too.It took me almost 2 years to get approved!! Good Luck & keep up the great work too!!
  19. -not being heavier than my husband, father & brother. -not weighing as much as a pro linebacker:tongue2: -shopping at cute small size stores:rolleyes: -not having to wear grannie undies:confused: -not feeling hot & sweaty all the time:cursing: -feeling small & petite and not husky:w00t: -getting noticed:wink2: -having my hubby not be able to keep his hands off me! and the list goes on & on!! Take care:thumbup:
  20. Hey suzannek, Your not the only one.I was so glad to see your post.I too only have .05cc (not even 1cc)with one fill and have good restriction too.I've lost almost 45lbs also.So we're in the minority but not alone! I too was starting to wonder. My surgeon says"Were ahead of the curve!":biggrin:I would like to know more like how far out you are from surgery & what type of things you eat??Do you exercise??Do tell...take care!! Teal:wink2:
  21. Hi,

    English Muffins Anyone?

Hey everyone........ I just ate like 3/4 of 1/2 of an english muffin for Breakfast.I really toast the heck out of whatever kind of bread I do try to eat.It was ok but I proceed with caution because I too have had a couple of "sliming" scares when bread was involved.I didn' t realize how addicted to carbs I was but I'm slowly learning there are better filling ,less caloric alternatives out there........My Doc told me some people always will have problems with breads & some kinds of meats, reluctantly I think I may fall in that category. But these are small sacrifices for a greater end!! Take Care everyone!!

    diet cola

I too was told no soda or carbonation for life..........so far I;ve been ok,starbucks is my "drug" of choice. LOL:w00t:
  24. Mine is on the left side below the bra line & above the belly button line.I was scared to feel it at first too.Now that I have lost some weight I can defnitely feel it more easily.I too heard that it can "stick" out when you lose a considerable amount of weight. But it cant stick out as much as my big gut from before! LOL  Anyway my surgeon found it no problem for my first fill and I try not to worry to much about it........It's our friend!!
  25. Hey,
