who supports right to choose
OneHotMama replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Her Mom said it in a interview. "Nadya was so determined to have children, she first became pregnant at 16, Angela told RadarOnline.com. She miscarried, said Angela, and discovered she had blocked fallopian tubes." -

She actually had an ectopic pregnancy and it was considered a miscarriage. -
I'm so sorry. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

the scary stories dont help!
OneHotMama replied to confusedfairy509's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel your "pain" HAHA I keep hoping I won't need a fill at all, wishful thinking I know. The one story that really freaks me out is the idea of introducing an infection to the port travel up the tube to the band, abscesses, slippage, blah, blah, blah. My Dr. only does fills under flouro so I'm not too concerned about the multiple poking stories. When I got the band I decided I wouldn't get a fill until I stopped losing weight, not based on a date or timeline. So I'll see how long I can hold off!!! I'm sure we'll be fine!!! -
isopure fruit drinks post -op????
OneHotMama replied to azairforcewife's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They have them at GNC, have a taste before you buy a bunch though. I thought they were completely disgusting! I found the Designer whey Protein water to be a little easier on the taste buds. I got that at rite-aid. -
Did anybody else notice Octomom looked like she had plastic surgery on her face? The HUGE Angelina Jolie lips, narrow nose, and extra high cheekbones? I think she did more then IVF with that $170k workers comp payoff. Speaking of, shouldn't she be dealing with work comp fraud? How the hell to you stay pregnant for the past ten years in "constant pain" from a previous injury?

I apologize for those of you who are offended by the language in the graphic. I just happened to think it was funny. If you have never been to someecards.com , that's all they have on there is off color smart a$$ ecards and graphics. I love it! HAHAHA:tt2: -

 I am sooooo thankful you have set my deaf and blind mind straight!! You are OBVIOUSLY more intelligent and informed then I, as represented by your return comments (especially regarding tax dodgers). So I will leave with this final comment: :tongue2::thumbup: -
who supports right to choose
OneHotMama replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You said "Listen to your president" regarding "what is right, fair and good". Most people find themselves following a religion to show them these things. The reason this topic is so hotly debated is because it is based mostly on religious beliefs. Why then should someone listen to the president regarding a religious topic? Based on your other silly statements: ***Iraq = BAD; Afghanistan = good*** ***"feeding bigwigs obscene amounts of money"=BAD; Not paying obscene amount of owed taxes = GOOD (you can even become the Treasury Secretary of the United States)*** ***Lastly, you're right, I "better watch out" who my spiritual advisor is. I'm thinking of moving to this nice little church in Chicago with a wonderful leader by the name of Jeremiah Wright. Have you heard of him?*** My point is, isn't your "hope" that Obama "gets this country turned around" also based on "blind faith"? -

OneHotMama replied to 396power's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Are you kidding! Now thats funny, HAHA "blind faith" is the ONLY reason Obama got elected! I mean it IS all about hope, change, and fairy dust; not reality. I don't need an elected official to become my spiritual advisor. -
Online support vs physical support group
OneHotMama replied to lompocbander's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's definitely a personality issue. I like the idea of going to an in person meeting but since I began reading this site, I'm sorry, but some people have the ability to irritate me IN WRITING! I can only imagine the eye rolling I could do in person! LOL -
Sounds great. The only thing I might suggest is instead of just "In the past, I have tried a variety of weight loss methods" Specifically list those programs you've tried and maybe even your success and regain? Just a thought. Best of luck to you!

In December it was $7,000 -
I love my magic bullet!!! I suppose as loud as a blender, but is great for small amounts and is super easy to clean!! You can blend it, cover it, refrigerate it, mirowave it, eat it all in the same container.

Cleaned my closet - it played on my mind.
OneHotMama replied to Christina40's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations on the closet clearing. I hope to be there soon. Yesterday was the first day I tried on any older clothes. I was really surprised at the things that are fitting me again. Like someone above said, it's kind of scary because I keep thinking while I got down to fit in to these once and got fat again, maybe I shouldn't get rid of anything. I'm not sure about the Right Fit jeans but I'm built like that also, and back when I was smaller I really used to like the jeans from New York & Co. You might want to check them out. -
I STOPPED BITING MY NAILS!!! I have no idea why but since I have been banded I have not bitten my nails or my cuticles. I have always bitten my nails for as long as I can remember, I mean super bad, made them bleed on occasion, bad. Now, 5 weeks post-op, my nails are long enough to actually get a manicure. hehe  The only thing I can think of is that I am so conscious of everything that goes in my mouth it just doesn't happen anymore. Anybody else?

I miss food--but not because I am hunrgy!
OneHotMama replied to Makulafamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is soooo funny!! I did the same thing!!!! I never cooked much but after I was banded and before I could eat, I was cooking everything!! I would watch the food network while I was on my elliptical and then make what I saw for my family. Or make the recipes on the cream Soup cans that I was eating. My husband couldn't understand it, he kept saying "why are you torturing yourself" but what was so funny is I wasn't. I couldn't explain it. It's like it allowed me to still have a relationship with food in a really warped sort of way, LOL:out: -
Lap Band Billboards...
OneHotMama replied to Weas123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those billboards are crazy!! Down the 605 Freeway in about a 2 mile stretch every single billboard is about the lap-band, one right after the other. I really don't think it will allow that many more people to get it as it is still more expensive then most people can afford. The thing for me is, I haven't told many people, maybe 4 and now with those popping up all over the place makes me even less likely to tell anybody. It is embarrasing, like having to claim a cracked out cousin! LOL -
Paying for the band (student loans?)
OneHotMama replied to libguy2753's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
IF you have good credit, have you thought about using a credit card? There are also a lot of Doctors offices that have finance companies you could go through. -

Isn't 7 layer dip considered a mushie so long as you eat it with a spoon? Hehehe -
Weird. Thanks!
