    Airplanes

You may want to talk to your doctor prior to traveling. With just have surgery you are more at risk for blood clots and they may not want you to travel for at least a month after your surgery. I've traveled a lot since I've had surgery and have no issues with the restriction due to the change and elevation.
  2. Ask your doctor. Mine said no way. I had no complications. I had my surgery on Jan 12th and was to fly out on the 24th of Jan. The doctor said not to fly because of the air pressure in the cabin can cause complications. So ask your doctor what they feel and follow their recommendations.
  3. I am just wondering how long after surgery was it before you were able to fly? I had surgery not long ago and the Dr wants me to wait at least a month before I do any traveling. I'm feeling great, have not thrown up any, and feel that I'm ready to travel. Just wondering about other people's experience with flying prior to fills and from those that did not travel for the surgery. Thanks

    January 12th bandsters

Slimmerme I was having troubles with the pre-op diet as well and I found that if I mix one individual pkg of crystal light and ice and blend it in the mixer it's much much better. It's almost like a slushy. Anyways - I am nervous for the surgery. I just don't want to deal with a lot of pain.

    January 12th bandsters

Hi everyone I am also a January 12th bander. I'm really looking forward to the 12th and can't wait for the pre-op diet to be over. I've really struggled with the Optifast because the smell makes me want to gag. I've started mixing Crystal light with the optifast to make it a little better. Anyone else have any ideas?
  6. Do I get the Optifast from my doctor or do I have to purchase it from a store? What your recommendations on flavors?

    Banded yesterday!

I have BCBS FEP as well and I got approved in a little over a week after submitting the information. I've been told that BCBS FEP is so much better than regular BCBS.

    Optifast

Thanks for the information. I got a call today and the Dr's office said that I get them there. Wow and it's not cheap. $230 for two weeks. Oh well it will all be worth it. So what are the bars? Are they do the same thing?
  9. I've been approved by insurance on 11/4/2008 and received my letter confirming it a few days later. I've yet to receive a call from the doctor's office confirming what I need to do next. I left a couple of messages but I've received no response back. What happened after any of you got approved by insurance? Did it take awhile for the doctor's office to get back to you?
