I know huh? Both 5'7", around the same staring weight. Who woulda thought? Have you been banded already? If so when and how much have you lost so far? I know the doctors are suppossed to be the experts on this, but They all have such differen approaches and theories on how the nband should be used. I REALLY dont want to put on any weight to prove a point to her. right now I am really happy that I am maintaining. Weight loss woould be much better. But hopefully with a manintained number or even a small weight loss she will come aroung and give me MORE!!!!!! I dont know what to do . all I know is that I am on a 25 day count down at this point and am really just doing the best I can to keep the scale moving in the right direction. I took diet pills before and boy , talk about no appetite! thats the feeling I was looking for with the band. a feeling of fullness at eating very little, and little to no hunger between meals.

I was thinking the same thing...too much in? take a little out, but apparently that is not her philosophy. So here I sit, me and my socalled will power trying to make good choices amongst all the bad that are available. 140 for you to? Sounds like a popular number, not to thin, but not big enough to be close to being overweight. I am 5'7" and I started at 280

So right now I am stopping myself from eating to much because I know that I should, NOT because I feel full. So what I am working on is recognizing the difference between full and stuffed and getting my mind, eyes and body all on the same mission, to recognize when I have had "enough." So as it stands now, I can eat anything and I feel like I could eat quite a bit more than I shlould, so I'm really having to pay attention and try to stay focused. I've got about 94ish pounds more to go. "I think" i want to weigh 140, but its been so long since I was that size, it may actually be to small, but I'd at least like to see what 140 feels like again, but for now that's the number in my head. right now I feel like I'm working off of will power...an honestly if I had enough will power, then I would have never need the band to begin with. I'm tryintg to be patient.

Well at my fill on the 22nd my doc put in 2cc's and let me tell you that I have been more than a little concerned. I really feel no restriction at all. I waited a week and called the doc and she said that she didnt want to add any fluid for fear that, that then might be to much and cause me issues that would send me in the wrong direction, such as vomiting and not even being able to swallow liquid. She also said that it wiould probably take 3-5 fills to get it just right and get me at "the sweet" spot where I am losing at a good rate.

Hi Wendy~ I'm from Torrance, California. I was banded on November 19. So far I have lost 44lbs but the majority of that was opre op. My doctor said I had to lose 20 prior to surgery. Day of surgery i was down 38 and have lost 6 since surgery. I had my first fill on December 22 and am doing well. My weight loss is slow and steady, which is fine with me (anad as it should be with the band) My goal is 1-2 pounds/week. I've ready of some people dropping like 25 plus pounds in thefirst month after surgery, but I have no idea how they are doing it. At any rate, have you been banded already? If so how is it going for you?
