  1. hi cheryl, how are you? I had my second fill and still nothing! she added 1.5 cc's and I can still eat way too much and i never get that feeling that i'm looking for of fullness. working off of will power is really hard for me and the scale shows it. only lost 4lbs. my next fill is in 2 1/2 weeks, right after my trip to big bear, so i'm going to pack my workout clothes for my tip and do the best i can.

I Love my Body Bugg....if for no other reason it makes me so aware of how sedintary i am sometimes and makes me accountable to get up and move. Wheter or not its 100% accurate or not it really does give me a measure to go by. Its great to see how much your activity or lack thereof effects your weight loss. I dont regret this purchase at all. I've been wearing for a month and it's just second nature and part of my daily fashion statement. Eventhough its winter everywhere else in the world its summertime in California, 80degress and short sleeve weather, which promtps alot of questions about that "thing" on my arm. Hope everyone is well, take care!
  3. To all the men reading this post just turn away....Ok to all my nortorious november ladies, i've got a question for you. is anyone else's cycle completely out of wack? tmi? i know, but in lieu of searching for a thread on the topic i thought i'd check with thoes i already know. the past 2 months mine is so completely off it's driving me nuts. i have heard tale of weight loss affecting your tom but i was just curious if anyone shared this delimma. i'm a woman of predictability. i like my coffe by 9, my kids to bed by 8:30, and my cycle every 28 days...so this is throwing a kink in my routine....and i'm not pg. already took a test...twice!

    Aaaha!

ok so i had an "aha" moment. i've been struggling a little since my first fill, with not feeling any restriction but i've talked about that enough. ok so today after work i pick up my 2 wonderful kids (my lovebugs) 18 months old, princess chloe and 4 yr old, self proclaimed, king elijah. after running a few errands locally around town they have both fallen asleep by the time i get home. herin lies the problem. i live in a rather larger condominium complex and my parking space is not at all close to my unit, coupled with the fact that my husband works at night, so that leave me to somehow get them both in the house. i some how get them both out of their car seats elijah up on one shoulder and chloe on the other....and i'm waiting and praying that one of them will open up thoes beautiful brown eyes so i can at least put one down and they can walk, but no such luck. so here i go in my 3 inch heels, trying to walk very quickly trying get from my parking spot at my condominum complex to my front door, a good 200 steps and i'm thinking good lord these kids are heavy (36lbs/24lbs) when "AAAHA" hits me as my arms start to burn and tingle. my 2 kids collectivley weigh about 60lbs, thats only 8 pound shy of what i've lost since my start (pre and post op together). that's when i said to myself, "self." you have done a good job so far!" thats 52lbs down that i dont ever want to carry around again unless its in the forum of my 2 precious lovebugs.
  5. just checking in to see how you are doing. My second fill still isnt giving me the level of restriction that i want. some wrote "dear cupid, for valentines day, forget flowers and choclate, i want my sweet spot" i've got these size 18 clavin klein jeans hanging on my door that i am dying to get into. (size 18 from lane bryant is WWWAAAYYYY different). hope all is well with you, take care.

  6. 16lbs! WOW!! Congrats and I think I'm a little bit jealous ;-) That is soooooo good. I am down 12 pounds since surgery (50total soince I started) I'm working hard and my progress is slow, but that's what I signed up for. If I wanted 10 lbs a week I should've got the bypass right? You are doing so well! All my clothes are very baggy and the true test is that all my former skin tight jeans are ridiculously baggy. i can get them off without unbuttoning them which is hilarious to me!

  7. hey wendy how u have been. i went for my 2nd fill only lost 4 lbs. my doc added 1.5cc's to my band. and let me tell you i already know its not enough. although i have had one instance where i felt something get stuck i still can eat WWWAAYYY to much food. next fill not scheduled for 3 weeks but i think she's gonna get a call on monday. take care hope all is well with you.

  8. i really am not to sure on why the doc's are also so varied in thier methodology of how much to give for fills. my doctor (compared to others on this site) seems to be very conservative on her fill philosophy. when i asked her about her giving me more that 1.5cc's, like at least 2cc's she said that she didn't want over fill me. even though she could take some out if it was too much, she said it was her experience that with overfills hat her patients end up losing ground with there weight loss. I dont know. i just hope this additonal amount helps me out.
  9. ok so i had an "aha" moment. ive been struggling a little since my first fill, with not feeling any restriction but ive talked about that enough. ok so today after work i pick up my 2 kids 1 1/2 and 4 yrs old and after running a few errands they are both asleep by the time i get home. i some how get them both out of their car seats, the 4 year old on one shoulder and the 18month old on the other. as im walking very quickly (in my 3 inch heels from work) trying to get from my parking spot at my condominum complex to my front door, a good 100 - 150 steps. i'm thinkg good lord these kids are heavy, when "aha" hits me as my arms start to burn. my 2 kids collectivley weigh about 50 lbs, thats only 2 pound shy of what ive lost since my start (pre and post op together). thats when i said to myself, "self. you have done a good job so far!" thats 48 down that i dont ever want to carry around again unless its in the forum of my 2 precious lovebugs.
  10. Thanks for the words of encouragement guys that really helps. ive lost 10 pounds since surgery and i am proud of everyone, i sepent alot of time sweating them out in the gym. my gym routine thus far has been stickly cardio. i am at the gym 5-6 days a week at 5:30am (its the only time that wont impact my time with my kids) 1 hour of cardio anyway i can get it. my preferred method is the treadmill. i do 3 20 minute increments. the fist 20 minutes is at n incline of 0 speed set at 4.0-4.2. the second 20 minutes is at incline of 6.0-7.0 speed 3.0- 3.5 and the final 20 minutes is at incline 3.5 speed 3.5. i spent weeks on a straight 0 incline at a varying speed of 3.0-3.7 and had great resluts. but once the scale stopped moving i knew something need to change so i started with my workout. for me its easier to make changes to my workout then it is to my diet. i know its time to start weight training and am planning on starting in February. they keep tellig me that "nothing taste as good as skinny is gonna feel" i cant wait to see if that's true.
  11. hey everyone, i had my 2nd fill today. added 1.5cc's to the 2 i already had. for a total of 3.5cc's in my 10cc band. i did lose 4 pounds since my last fill which is good. I'll take every pound lost i can get. I just really feel that it would have been more had i had more restriction from my last fill. but no use crying over spilt milk. im just hoping that im getting closer to my maigc sweet spot.
  12. Had my 2ns fill today, she added 1.5cc's to the already 2cc's from my 1st fill last month. i only lost 4 pounds, which I know whould have been more had I had more restriction. down to 232 and i really need to see the 220's soon or i am going to start to lose my mind!

  13. Hey everyone~I've almost made it. I get my second fill on tuesday and i cant wait!!!! i got my first fill on 12/22/08 had had no restriction and it has been a struggle. I have been at the gym 5 days a week and eating a healthy diet but my portions arent as small as they shoudl be and my restriction is next to none. I am hopeful that after i talk to my doc that she gives me more of a fill. and i pray that at the very least i havent gained any weight!
  14. you and i are in the same boat and i feel your pain and understand your frustration. I hit 2 months post op yesterday and have only lost 6 pounds since surgery. i am at he gym 5 days a week minimaly. i dont have good restriction but i am really trying to watch what i eat(even bought a body bugg which is helping me learn about how many calories my body burns and also provides a forum for calorie counting). i honestly kdont know what's goin on with me, but i'm going to stay at it. the scale has got to move eventually...right? of course it does
  15. so i called and expressed my concern to dr t who wasnt convinced to say the least. she didnt want to put in any additional fluid and reassurred me that it would take time to find the sweet spot.all of which i know is how the process works. but here i am 3 1/2 weeks after my first fill and i havent lost any weight. im at the gym 5 days a week, but portion control is a hard battle to fight, its why i got the band to begin with. im just alittle frustrated ,

  16. ok now to the fill. so dr t put 2cc's in my band. and i stayed in the office for a while and drank my water which went down just fine. i did liquids for the rest of the day and softs the next like she said and regualr diet the day after that. well i was really conscious of what i ate and paying attention to chewing througly and all that great stuff. but i never got that feeling. that feeling of fullness. nothing ever even remotely felt like it had any trouble going down (which i know is a good thing) but i never felt full and felt like i could continue to eat even past the reccommended amount of 1/2 cup. the only thing that kept me from over eating was will and if i had enough will to sustain me i wouldnt have needed surgery.

  17. hi cheryl~ how are you? hope that your christmas and new years were spent well. I hit my 2 month post surgery date yesterday and let me tell you i am not happy. its been a while since we talked so let me fill you in,i'll try to make it short.

ok, so prior to my first fill appointmet . the first thing that went wrong was that my large incision developed a whole that simply would not close and dr t didnt want to put a stitch in (alothough i finally convinced her 2 weeks later) AND i developed a rash around it that was so irrataing and caused me alot of itching that wouldnt go away so she advised me to apply topical bebdryl too it (THAT I WAS ALLERGIC TO) which just made it really ugly to look at. i guess inthe grand scheme of things that all wasnt so bad.

  18. Hello everyone! I swear this site is the only thing keeping me sane right now. Banded 11/19, 1st fill 12/22 2cc's and nothing, nada, ziltch! No restriction at all! Any and everyting goes down with no problem and there doesnt appear to be a limit on how much. I know I've said it all before (can you all hear the violins playing?) At any rate I still have 11 more days til my next fill,so wish me luck..my will power is geting it's butt kicked! As far as exercise I do 5 days a weeks/ 1 hour cardio, either treadmill, or eliptical (just depends on what machine is available at the gym whem I get there.) I actually attempted to take a spin class this morning and let me tell you that is a true form of torture if I ever experienced one. I highly doubt that I will even be able to walk tomorrow.

    Bodybugg users report here!

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this tread. I Purchased a Bodybugg yesterday and hit the ground running this morning. I'm very excited to add this tool to my weight loss arsenol of things that will hopefully allow me to be a success. The frustrating part is waiting for the phone call for the set up. I programmed miy BB and synced it to the display monitor, but I cant figure out how to start logging in my food yet. I'm assuming that when I get the call for the consultation they will cover all of that. Do I have to be PatientPolly or can someone help me out?

Hey thanks for the help. I am so frustrated. I got banded on Nov. 19 with no resrtiction and had a fill on Dec 22, of 2cc's which literally gave me no restriction at all. After about a week I called my doctor and she said that it would take 4-6 fills to get it right and she was against adding more at that time. So I literally have been working off will, hitting the gym and keeping an eye on the scale and it's not moving like I want it to. I'm on a 19 day count down until my next appointment and I really hope she ups the amount becaue 2cc's really didn't cut it. I can eat WHATEVER I want and ALOT of it...but I dont. I stop eating because I know I should, not because I feel full or restricted. I had better appetite control on diet drugs, which I dont ever want to take again. 19 days seems like forever!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Hey Marisol We're neighbors...somewhat. I'm in Torrance, Ca. I had my surgery done by Dr. Takahashi in torrance on Novenber 19, I had a fill on December 22 of 2 cc's which gave me NO restriction at all. I'm on a 19 day count down til my next fill and boy is it hard, because I can eat WHATEVER I want and prettymuch big amounts. But I stop myself from eating so much, not because I feel full or the food is getting stuck, just because I know that I should. I asked my doctor for more and she said that she didnt think it was good idea, for fear of over fill. She said that it might take 4-5 months to get it right which is VERY frustrating.

I can't, for the life of me even figure out how to update my ticker.....can anyone help me? Apparently I'm technologically challenged!
  24. Hey I knew what you were trying to say and I get it. But I'm lucky in that my HMO paid in full for my surgery, based soley on my BMI I qualified. I am having a more difficult time than I thought with the fill and I honestly dont see restriction coming 3 weeks after the fact. I know its a tool, but I need my tool to work with me.i'll keep you posted.
