  1. I dont go by dress sizes, because you can cheat a dress size WWWAAAAAAAYYYY to easy, especially depending on the cut. An A line is very forgiving and deceiving. I'm all about the jean size. I started at 285 and in a size 24 jeans from lane bryant. I am currently down to 191 and in a size 12 from old navy. For me it takes about 15 pounds to go down a true size....but that's just me.
  2. girl you are crazy!!!! i just read your photo comments and i am so flattered! and amused, that was a good one! do you have a date scheuled for your procedure yet?

  3. hi steffib, welcome to lapband talk!

  4. Hi Everyone. I'm not quite done but I'd thought I'd share my progress. This thread keeps me motivated.
  5. hi princess~ whats done is done, now we must move forward. I was banded nov 08 as well and intially did very well and then a hit a wall, a cement wall....my bands sliped and i had a hernia. at that point i was down to 185, but after the unfill for the surgery and down time after, i gained about 7lbs. and currently am at 191-3 9depending on the day). my surgeons is very conservative and only gives me small fill amounts at a time. a few weeks ago my nephew was murdered which sent me into a world wind with a license to EAT. the emotional eating coupled with not enough fluid in my band has not made for a good combinnation for weight loss. I have kept up my workouts but with the amount of food i can eat (and i am HUNGRY) all i have been able to do is maintain. we can do this. its just a matter of recommitting and getting back to the ever so elusive sweetspot. good luck to you, to me and toeveryone who needs it!
  6. Tammy, you have a done a great job ans congratulations on your status with your diabetes. I'm with you, no regrets, would do it agian in a heart beat!
  7. Hey Cheryl, I was around after the meeting I just got swept up by the newbies, they had so many questions and I remember being in there shoes and having so many things that I wanted to aske someone who had already been through the procedure. Thanks for the kudos, I have been working hard and have more work to put in. I know the feeling about the closet I have a closet FULL of clothes that dont fi size 18 and 20 all from Lane Bryant... a small fortune invested that I just cant seem to purge. I try to make some of them still work because if got rid of everything that didnt fit id be left with barely enough clothes for a week =-). You know I'm down 91lbs but 38 of that was pre surgery so since the band i have only lost 53lbs but I still have about 30 or so i want to take off. I think anyprogress we have made is great because with out the band we would both probably be where we were before if not heavier! I dont regret it at all!

  8. Hi Carolswo, I know the feeling you are having. If you are not feeling full but sometimes you get that "stuck" feeling and PB it could be what your eating, the types of foods or the size of the bite. Some foods are hard to pass through the band, chicken and bread for me. Take a look at WHAT your eating, and how is prepared and the size of the bite can be an issue to. I am in the same boat right now with not feeling full but sometimes get that feeling that something isnt going down smoothly and it usually food choice.
  9. Happpy New Year Everyone! Still here and still loking for the every so elusive sweet spot (for the 2nd time) My surgeon who has always been really conservative is taking it slow since my revision surgery. I didnt gain any weight over the holidays, but I didnt loses any either. I am still hitting the gym but my intake is tohigh, you remember how it is when you dont have proper restriction...At anyrate my next fill is at the end of the month and I'm hoping for to get closer to the "sweet spot" so I can finish up my weight lost. TTFN!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to stop in and give an update. I started this program a few weeks ago and must admit that I havent followed it to the T but have been using it the best I can. Well today I ran my first under 10 minute mile, (9min 6sec) It was follwoed by 2 additonal miles but at a MUCH SLOWER PACE:biggrin:. I am very excited about my progress and hope to be able to build on it.
  11. Hello all just checking in. My revision surgery was good and I doing well. I started this whole thing at 280lbs and rockin a size 24 from Lane Bryant. As of today I am down 90 lbs and in a size 12 Old Navy jeans. I would do this all over again if I had to and regret nothing about it, wven with the revision I am VERY happy!!!! The new year will be my start on the second leg of the race to get the final 30 lbs off. Everyone have a GREAT HOLIDAY!!!!!!
  12. Hey Ladies, just checking in. Where are all the C25K people? I just completed week 1 and I am still standing. I didnt upload the program onto my ipod because I could only locate apps that were compatable with the touch or the iphone neither of which i own, so I mand theses little 3x5 index cards for each week that i am just tossing in my mini bgym backpack and just watching the cloock intermittenly as I do my alternating between running and walking. I think week 1 went fairly easy, due to i had already started to do some running on my own, but I am no fool to think that every level is going to be like that. I'll keep you posted.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Hello all, I am new to this forum but not the site. I have been hearing about the C25K for quite sometine now. I'm ready to get started but have come across one obstacle. I was trying to put the app on my ipod classic but I am only finding app for ipod touch or the iphone. Anyone have any info, I am very anxious to get started!
  15. Hey guys, just want to stop by and give you guys an update, and boy oh boy was I tempted to just let this one go by. Well as you all know I had revision surgery September 30 and was unfilled down to 3cc's at surgery. Now to me 3cc's might as well have been a complete unfill. So here I am 6 weeks later and UP 6 POUNDS!!!!!! Yes, you heard me right and I didnt studder, 6 fricken pounds. Am I surprised? Not really. I'll admit that I got LAZY I enjoyed sleeping in until 6am instead of getting up at 4:30am to go to the gym. My eating post op was going pretty good until my husband (how dare he) took me on an all inclusive 7 day trip to Cabo for my 40th birthday and I Lost my fricken mind. I swear when I got on the plane the scale said 185 (and I know it did because I weighed myself on the scale at the airport where you weigh your luggage). And at the airport on the way home it said 197...I PROMISS IT DID. There was alot of drinking and late night eating on that trip. And honestly I know I didnt gain 12 pounds in 7 days but I knew that I hadnt been eating right and drinking alot of alcohol plus not getting in my water (unless you take in water by sitting in the pool swim up bar?) So 5 days home and the scals was down to 190, 10 days home and there it remained 190 sometimes 191. THANK GOODNESS today was my follow up from surgery appointment where she gave me a fill and I was never so happy in all my life. Theses last 6 weeks have really reafirmed my decision to get the band. with out it I truely have very little will and I really need the restriction that it gives me. I still am a fat girl at heart and in my mind. I still have work to do. C25K here I come and 180 by Christmas!!!!

  17. I think I might settle for 160 and a tummy tuck!
  18. ....and how strange and unreal is it to be talking about myself and being in reach of being "to small"....blows my mind
  19. I'm 5'7" and am currently 185 and wearing a comfortable size 12. I have this magic number in my head of 140lbs though which is what i weighed about 15 years ago. I thought that was my ideal weight but that is a nother 45lbs off and looking at myself now I'm thinking that my be to small, not really sure yet. It's still listed as my goal weight but I'm open to adjust it to 150.
  20. Hey Elyse~ I'm still here as well. 3 weeks post op and I'm still at the same weight. I was on my cycle which set the scale up about 5 lbs for 3-4 days but now I'm right back at good ole 185. I didnt go back to the gym last week as planned, I just got lazy and got caught up in sleeping in til 6am (which seems like heaven when your used to getting up at 4:45am to hit the gym). my doctor still hasnt given me a fill (did i tell you guys that I had to have a hernia repaired during my band slippage repair surgery?). She is waiting for the hernia to be completley healed before she gives me a fill. I started this whole thing at 280, So I am dying to get the last 5lbs off to be at 100 lost. To top it all off i am going to be 40 in 11 days. i would have liked to hit the 100 mark by then but it doent look like it is going to happen. Nonetheless, 4:45 wake up times are back in my life effective immediately.
  21. OMG!!! You are killing me here...LMAO I swear I almost choked on my protein shake!!! :scared2::w00t:
  22. thanks guys!!!! way to boost my ego!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Hey! What do ya know, it worked!!!!!!
  24. ok ladies, i tired to load the picutres on my profile as an album but they kept coming in sideways, so i'll try them here as an attachment....drum roll>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  25. I'm here, I'm here...I had my surgery on September 30, went home on the 1st on full liquids and was on solids by the 5th. I have no restriction and can not work out. ARGH!!!! I just got cleared to hit the gym (treadmill only,,,,no running) starting tomorrow. I didnt mean to be MIA but I had the wedding....remeber the one with the delimma about the dress????? Well it was a wedding weekend. A welcome dinner on Friday, wedding on Saturday and send off brunch this morning. I feel GREAT!!!! I am trying to remeber that I just had surgery 2weeks ago and am tring to take it easy. I am going to post some pictures tomorrow so all of you who helped me in my dress delimma can see the decision in full color. It was interesting because I was the best man an sttod on the side of the groom but the bridesmaids...all 9 of them size 5 and under all wore the same dress as I did, but when I tell you that people where raving about me in the dress it would not be and understatement. I am not one to usually ttot my own horn but I wore the hell out of that dress. And through it all. revision surgery and everything, I still love my band and do regret it at all. Even though I am no quite at goal I know that I wouldnt be were I am now without it. Oh...been out of town for 3 days and havent seen a scale so I'm not sure were I am.
