I am a bandster of 3 years now and I have been begging my hubby to have the lapband to help with his diabetes....He is on 100 units of lantis daily and is taking max oral meds...Can anyone out there tell me how you regulate your meds immediately after surgery and has the surgery been a positive thing for you...Thanks

Hi I am also going thru getting really stuck ALOT, and I am trying to hold out, because over the last 6months I've been filling and unfilling ALOT...Any suggesstions

Yep I got it too....I have spit up before but Never brown till today......I have had a too tight can't eat or drink anything it usually happens when I'm 2 tight after a fill but its been 3 months since my last fill.....I hate to do an unfill but a worried about problems....keep me posted...

O.K. I went for my last fill a month ago and got 1 cc for a total of 4 in my 10cc band....The next day it was all good,but the following night I keep frothing which is what I call the slimy stuff I bring up when something is stuck...Well it lasted all night to the point of me waking up choking and while I didn't know it I was 2 tight and choking on my own spit...I had heard of this happening so I went for 1/2 cc unfill whcih helped immediately....I think he took more than 1/2 cc out cuz it feels like it did b-4 my fill....Well now I don't know what to do cuz I am eating too much but am scared of being 2 tight....If was 2 tight before shouldn't I be at my sweet spot now????? I never want to feel loike that again but yet I want to start losing again....I am betwween 25 and 30 lb. loss.... Let me know what yalls;s experience has been....

O.K. I got was 2 tight 2 months ago and had 2 have an unfill......This month I got 1/2 of 1 cc in on Wed....& I was fine....But I noticed Sat. night I couldn't eat supper...Then by Sun. no water , no food,,,,,,and up almost all night choking at times on my own spit.....I next day I suffered until 4 p.m. and went 2 the doc to have a quarter of a cc out......I sipped water and it wnet down but like in all the other instances by the time I got home it came back up...I was sooooooooooooo dehydrated, headache and I just wnated to cry,,,,I just kept spasming,,,,,I decided to try something my Mom used to do when I was sick she would place w cool rag on my throat......I chose to put ice packs around my throat and upper chest and over the next 5 mins. I wasnt dry heaving,,,after 10 mins. I sipped some water and it stayed w/me.....OMG I was so thristy,,,, Well it did the trick it calms down my throat spasms and allowed water to go down....I just thought I would over my remedy to yall out there cuz the docs office offered NO suggesstions what so ever.......:smile2:

Hey yall I am between 25 and 30 lbs loss and I was banded March 23......I have 4.5 cc's and I feel restrictions at times but I have not had any loss this month....I had 2 have .5 unfill a month ago and I m a lil scared to get swole shut again but I feel my restriction lessening.....I also have port pain during sex....Do any of you still get sore there????

Same thing happened to me and while I didn't want to get an unfill I felt horrible I couldn't take in water or my own spit...Good Luck I was I could have held out but it was a Fri. and I was afraid of being stuck all week-end....

Thats the only thing I have experienced is that considered getting stuck, I don't know either....

Hello yall....I FINALLY know what restriction feels like I got my 2nd fill last week i am now @ 4cc's and for the first time I'm not starving...I lost 5 lbs. this week woooohoo.....I have lost 25lbs. and am starting to feel like hey this CAN work......for all of you out there struggling it WILL get better......take care

Hello all......I am scheduloed for my 2nd fill on the June 2nd.......I have finally dropped 4 lbs....after 6 weeks of no loss I am excited but I know its not the band its my will power which is getting very weak lately....I am hopeful that this fill will give me the slightest bit of a hint that it is there,,,,I never got stuck or full of anything......Keep in touch peeps...

O.K. my surgery was 3/23/09.....I am having a hard time......As of today especially evening I am HUNGREY.....I have been having protein delimmas.....I started with this powder that I mix in juice or pudding well that was only 10 grams.....I don't want to consume alot of food or juice at one time....So my Beef (Hubby) went to gnc and got me a case of the vials w/42 grams of protein.....BUT NASTY...it was grape...I still need to do liquids for another week so we need to compose a list of things that we can eat that don't have to be a huge serving to get in our protein.....I know I am probably late but I just had 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and just so happened to notice that is has 7 grams, hey I can do that.....I am starting to get nervous about FOOD and I want salt....I actually sucked on 4 cheese puffs today to get a salty taste.....Then someone mentioned that pork rinds has protein and no carbs....?????????

I was banded on March 23rd and in the 2nd week after surgery I lost 16lbs....Gotta fill @ 6 weeks no restriction and still @ 16lbs lost....Today week 8 STILL @ 16 lbs. and getting pissed....Longing to put this hardware to use...

My fill went pretty good...I didn't punch anyone in da eye....I got one and 3 quarters cc in today....I will be on liquids for 24 hours.....I can relate 2 the hubby thing cuz mine keeps saying the same thing....He can tell it really pisses me off cuz I give him THE LOOK.....I mean he should know better than anyone else that I have no restriction yet, I can understand other people saying or thinking that....:thumbup: I could eat a small cow right about now.......:smile:

Wow Tiffykins that is jacked up......I hope u get to doing better soon....I have a friend that did the sleeve 1 year ago and has lost over 100 lbs. in just over a year.....I considered it but my insurance doesn't cover it and I didn't like the fact that they cut away so much of your stomach.......And lets face it w/any of these surgeries the key is NOT to stretch your pouch....I am 6 weeks post op going 4 my first fill today.....And I have been questioning my choice cuz I want to feel restriction, but don't so far.....Good luck and man that is some story.....My husband would be in jail if a doc treated me like that cuz he would beat his a#$.....Take care

Ditto on the feeling like you don't even have a band....I ate crawfish like a crazy person and can eat anything I want right now....And yes w/ the gastric you would have lost weight, but if you were like me you didn't want to risk dying to do it...I really hope we start w/some help foem our tool SOON.....Keep up the battle its worth winning.....

:tongue: My first fill is tomorrow....Man I hope it helps...I know I have been eating more than I should....I am struggling to keep my 15 lbs. off....I'm soooo hopeful that I get some restriction but I know that odds r that I probably won't...My doc only does small fills like 1cc or so.......I just can't wait to get some benefits from this surgery.... Hey did I mention that I can't wait....I hope it doesn't hurt and if it does I'm gonna punch em in the eye(not)......Wish me luck peeps.......

Wow 5 cc's my doc will only do 1-1 &1/2 cc's each time....How big is your band?

O.K. yall (don't tell anybody) but I must confess......Today I am 5 weeks post-op and I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad.....I went out and ate crawfish....not a lb. or two but I ate as though I had no surgery...well almost I HAD to stop myself they were so good but I felt upset afterwards saying to myself dam I really DON'T have ANY restriction what so ever.....(so why the he!! was I chewing food a million times b-f swallowing....and why have I baby sips every ounce of water I have drank when I have been really thirsty.......Man after tonight I pray that my fills help and my tool at least lets me know it is there (other than the piercing paun I get from time 2 time).........Well I am going to bed and mull over what I have done tonight....I'll try not 2 spank myself all night lol....ttyl......

:crying:It will get better or so I've told myself.....My nurse keeps telling me that as of now there really is no pouch because the band is so loose that everything fells through....I beleive it because even though I am on solid foods I am not filling up. I have been eating lots of chicken breast w/no problems at all....Do any of you have alot of port site pain? I am due my first fill in a week and I really want it but I am still so sore there that I don't know if I can stand it...???:smile2:

Hang in there Peascorps.....I have a friend that felt nothing until after her 3rd fill and I was getting worried for her but as of this week she has some restriction....I can feel ya on the weight loss.....Were starving and still the scale won't give us any slack...And as for the flip side I have a 9 year old w/ Autism and he wants to eat constantly but he is already 145 lbs. and it is a daily fight to keep him in check he has always been big 10lbs. at birth 32 lbs. at 4 months and has keep up a steady pace since then...His Dad is diabetic and I fear that he will inherite it if we can't get the weight under control.....Keep up the good habits (like I can preach that) I find myself telling people stuff that I HOPE is true like we WILL get there.....

Hey guys I am 4 weeks out and have been released for exercise as of last Mon....O.K. I have been taking baths and getting through but today I got on the floor to fix some computer cable and I started to pull at my port site...BAD like the burning stabbing pulling just after surgery....And I need 2 no is this normal???? I have been wanting a fill so bad for restriction but if I had a doc that would fill at 4 weeks there is no way I could stand the pain,,,,,,,Whats up????ANYONE ELSE ???:eek::mad::sad::wink2:
