I traveled to Juarez for my surgery. Dr. Rodriguez performed the surgery. The worst part of the experience was the flight to and from. While I was flying down to Texas, I was sooooo nervous. While I was flying back I was unable to get comfortable. All in all the experience of going there and getting banded was wonderful. My husband went with, I would highly recommend having a friend or spouse go with. I was gonna go on my own and decided against it. When we finally got to the hospital it was spotless. There are tons of people on this forum who have negative things to say about going to Mexico, honestly, I had no issues whatsoever. The surgery was painless, they only put two incisions in me. The recovery was easy, honestly I only used two of my pain pills they perscribed me on the way home. I can understand if you are nervous but I had a wonderful experience. If you need particulars about my doctor and the trip, just respond back to me and I'll help you out. -

This is Karissa from Milwaukee. I was banded by Dr. Rod on 1-10-09... Sorry I havent gotten back to you. Trying to find a new normal with the band. I was gonna ask you where you are getting your fills done? I had contacted a couple of Dr.'s in my area, but just curious who is helping you out. How have you been feeling? I am down 18 lbs since my Pre-op diet. I feel pretty good. I didn't recieve your message till after I came back from Mexico, I do agree the nurses were great. Get back to me whenever you can.

Just wanted to say hello. I am going to Mexico this weekend to be banded by Dr. Rodriguez, in Juarez. You posting sounded similiar to my situation. My preop weight is 213lb. If you see this post before Jan 10 let me know how things went in Mexico. My biggest fear right now is just getting out of Ohare with snow on the way. I live in Southern WI, and if you wouldn't mind telling me what your plans are for followup visits with a Dr. would be, I would appreciate it. Sounds like you are off to a great start!
