So I will be moving and then some. I have talked with several sleevers that went back to work right away. I think that's how you really get sick, by staying home all day.
-
Mmmm... not really. I take my medication as scheduled. I don't wait for my pain to take the medicine. I was told what I can take for pain when I go back to work. I know it won't be easy, but I have already done the hard part. I gotta move. My medical team wants me to do something for at least an hour each day

I have been forcing myself. I take small sips and continue to drink until I am finished. I had two shakes which equals 60 grams. We just have to do what we have to do. We need to have the protein to coat the vitamins. I am here to give you encouragement.

I have to do what I have to do. I am a therapist, so it's not manual labor. I will be fine. I might be tired, so i will discuss not driving with my partner, but other than that I will be good.

Sleeved a week ago. Feel no different?
aloudwhisper replied to violin08's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am only 3 days postop, and I have experienced some low energy days, but I will be going back to work on Wednesday. I have no chose. I also have some things that I need to take care of tomorrow. I am also in school, and I have to complete my final research paper this weekend. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Life will always keep you busy. It's just how it is. Stay encouraged. -
I was told no baby food. So I am all on pinterest. I am glad to have ideas.

Oh wow! Doctors are all so different. Honestly, I didn't think I would be on protein so early. But when it was delivered the next morning I figured it's on now. I'm still taking my time with everything. I will be researching the pureed foods thay can have. I want to take it easy.

I was doing wonderful until I decided to walk up a small hill on the side of my house. I felt like I had done 990 sir ups. My stomach has been hurting. I took some Ibuprofen. It's not serious pain, but I wasn't prepared for this one at all. I'm glad that I'm healing though. Cause I have to go back to work on Wednesday.

Band to Sleeve in One surgery
aloudwhisper replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree, but it seems that there are doctor's that don't agree. We are fortunate. My doctor took care of both procedures at one time. Lord knows I hardly had the time to take off, but it all worked out. I hope it all works out for those that have to have 2 surgeries. -
Look forward to hearing about your journey. It's wonderful to have someone on your side supporting you.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I am trying to get into taking my vitimans. I was a bit worried, especially since I am not able eating as much. I'm hoping that I can get my hair to grow and lessen all the shedding that I had going on prior to surgery. Most was from stressing I know. But I know have a protective style and I am giving my hair the oil and water it needs.

You on liquids for 2 weeks? Wow. I can transition to pureed starting Saturday. I'm so looking forward to that. I know there's a lot of things that I can have, and I will be looking for some creative ideas.

Have you been able to get your protein in?
-
Oh that's wonderful! When did you have your surgery? I am 2 days post op. I am doing pretty good with my protein. I got down about 60 grams. I wish I could get in more, but I am grateful for where I am. I am excited to see the kinds of foods that I will be able to tolerate. I converted from band to sleeve, so I am on a whole new journey. I have my hair in a protective styles right now, so that I don't have to mess a lot with it. I have just begun taking my vitamins. I thought I was initially gonna wait, but I have decided against that. I hoping to keep my hair and have long nails. Staying positive. Also thanks for explaining this group to me.

September Sleevers!
aloudwhisper replied to SleevedSharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I questioned the process myself. I'm glad that I had this opportunity. I know I am only 2 days out, but I know this is the beginning of something wonderful. -
So what makes this group different for African Americans? Are we discussing hair, skins and this related to our lifestyles?

Can I be sleeved if band caused damage?
aloudwhisper replied to Thistlegirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my band removal and sleeve in one surgery on Friday. I had some scaring, but my surgeon says that is normal. I had a lot of pain the day of surgery, but day 1 and 2 has been minimal. I take my meds as scheduled and I feel good. I am a bit gassy, but it's not painful. God is good. -
I pray that all is wonderful for you. I am day 2 preop. Trying to remain hydrated and get my protein in at the same time. Small sips of protein and ice cubes is getting me through.
-
Glad to know that you are doing good. I have walked around the house some, but I haven't gotten out. The meds had me so tired, but I wasn't able to really rest because I constantly had to use the bathroom and I couldn't go alone. But I got through that.
-
Day 3 over there. How you doing? I woke up to ice for me. The plan is to drink a shake. I just don't want to stress myself.

I'm new to this group, so please excuse me if my question is dumb. Care you all tracking miles per day in the treadmill? I'm not getting the concept. Is this a running group? Cause all it says is African American

Band to Sleeve in One surgery
aloudwhisper replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It wasn't hard for me at all. I was blessed to have a good surgeon who was willing to work with me. So it all came together. I had my surgery Friday, and i was home yesterday. I'm feeling fairly good. Honestly, my insurance fought me on getting the sleeve, but they came around. That was because of my doctor and the team thay was with them. He knew what to do and say to get things a proved -
September Sleevers!
aloudwhisper replied to SleevedSharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you gone back to ice. I realize that it still hurt to drink water, unless I really measure it, but I can eat ice more freely. -
Wanted: September Sleevers!
aloudwhisper replied to Liberianne_Gal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm good too y'all. It's day 2 for me. Bo real pain. Well cause I'm taking pain meds as prescribed. I am also taking pills for nausea, cause I don't want that in my life. They say that the hiccup and all cause it. I do need that one at all. I'm in a great mood. Not doing too much cleaning of anything, just relaxing. Drinking protein and water.
