    disappointed in myself

thanks betsy! I have a stationary bike, I need to get back on. I did that for awhile and it was helping. So I must make myself get on it. Istead of that today, I weeded my entire herb garden today. I feel good. I have had some tuna salad and a few crackers to eat today, along with crystal light to drink. So, with my dr. appt coming up I will also get with the nutritionist and get her to put me back on track. I was drinking protein drinks for breakfast, but need to go get more, ran out yesterday. I am at 278 today, so definitely I think a fill will help a lot!
  4. Ok. So, I had my surgery 12/2/2008. I was doing great. I have had 2 fills. I was coming here regularly reading really into it. Then something happened and I just thought I could do it on my own I guess. November 2009 I was at 259. I was 351 the day of surgery. I am not eating right, and my exercise has not been the best. I guess I need my butt kicked a bit. I have an appt. to see my dr. on 9/10 to see about a fill. I know you plateau at a certain point, but those of you who have reached your goal weight, please put me back on track. What is the best way to go about getting my weight loss back on the down and not the up. Another thing, has anyone stretched their pouch and not been able to get it back:? Scared I might have done this. Any feed back would be great! Thanks:redface:
  5. Ok, so I am proud of how I have been eating, I have been slacking on my excercise, but I am almost at a 40 pound loss. I went and bought new underwear, and a new bra. I had quit wearing underwire, but, with the loss the wire support feels better. But now, only 40 pounds down, my port is more noticable, and the underwire from my bra hits the top of it when I am sitting. I never could really feel the port before, but now I feel it all the time. The only people I know to ask this personally are males, and well, even those with man boobs wouldn't have a clue. So, has anyone had this problem? Anyone heard of this causing problems with the port? Making it move, or shift or flip or anything? I know a wierd question.....but.....a question none the less! Good luck to all.

    New n already messin up

Please don't be so hard on yourself. I was banded 12/3, and I was supposed to be on liquids for 6 weeks after. There was no way.... the week after I was starving. I called the dietician with my surgeon, she told me to go ahead and start doing soups and thick liquids, a few mashed potatoes. You are not cheating by any means, liquids are to help with the swelling after the banding, you have not hurt yourself or shot yourself in the foot. It is a whole new lifestyle, and every month takes a bit more getting used to, but it does get a little easier. I know all will be well with you. only try 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of soups at a time. This is a tool you have to teach yourself to use and manipulate. Good luck! Don't hesitate to keep in touch!

    I messed up today!

Don't beat your self up too much. That is one of the very few down sides of the band. Sweets, junk food all seem to be soft and easy to chew and slide down. I have onlyt been banded since December, but, cake is a downfall. I think if you don't enjoy yourself ever so often, then you really will hurt yourself in the long run. Slenda sweetner has a great reciepe for cakes, that would do you good. My husband is 6' and 162. He can eat his weight and not gain an ounce. Where I used to eat 1/2 the cake, now I have 1/8 of the slice I did, still get the taste, just not all the guilt.:sneaky:

    Cold/Sinus drainage

    thanks ya'll so much!

    I know this will vary...

Ok, I have 16 month old twins, and a 4 year old boy. The Dr. told me not to pick any of them up for 2 weeks. I didn't. Even though I was feeling ok, by the 4-5 day, I waited until my 2 week check up to do anything. However I would hold all of them seperately for a short time, my mom or husband would pick them up and such, but I would hold them. At two weeks I was picking up both babies, although he said one at a time, but I was not able to pick up my oldest. Which he knew mommys tummy was getting well. My mom went through all the hospital stuff, hubby stayed with the kiddos. Then, mom came over during the day, while hubby worked. At two weeks, I was ready to have my kids and house back! Good luck! it can be trying, but it will all be fine. I am 2 months out of surgery, getting ready for my second fill.:tt2:
  10. Ok, so I have this wicked cold, and now on the downside of it getting lots of sinus drainage, cold drainage. I think it is filling up my pouch, causing me not to eat as much at one sitting. So, when I eat, it is 3 bites, and I feel whatever it is getting stuck. But, then I am not full after 30 minutes. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought about trying mucinex, or a decongestant, but that leads to coughing... which makes me nervous on slippage. Any ideas? I had my first fill on 1/19, and next one is due on 3/2. I have lost 25 pounds so far.
  11. hey!!! we did it!! so glad to be on the other side....you kicked cigs-- WOW!!!! congrats!!! i'm doing good.. the surgery is no joke, huh? my port side feels weird to be up and doing Wii-- good for you!! i'm good with walking slow, that is about it.. ...i'm starting to struggle on the soups and supposed to hold out until wednesday...i want lobster and mashed potatos!!! NOWWW.

I guess the surgery was teh easy part..now we have to work the band....UGH!!..i dont think 2 cups of food made you gain 8 pounds-- water retention most likely!! glad you aer doing well!! let's keep in touch!!

  12. hey girl..... wanted to check in with you see how you were doing.

I was able to kick the cigs, want one every once in awhile, but only for a fleeting moment or two. My surgery went well. I feel good, 9th day out. Walking a little every other day, I was down to 328, got on my wii fit and did 30 minutes of yoga and areobics. I was getting really hungry beginning wednesday, called dietician, and she said go to soups and mushies, I did, hello, weighed this morning 336!!!! I about flipped, how can 2 coups of food make me gain 8 pounds, geeez, makes me wanna go for a extra long cheese coney and rings! I wish I hated food! lol

oh well, I think it is a lot of water retention. we will see.how are you doing?

  13. amrcngrl1970

    What is the deal?

Yes, June Water retention makes sense. Thinking about how much they plug into your iv, and then I started walking, yogo and light aerobics on the wii fit, my body decided it would hold on to everything. I promised myself I would not let myself freak when this happened, since I have heard or read about it so much in the past....but there I went. I am trying to train myself to not drink when eat, and yesterday especially after broth with egg in it..(egg drop soup) I drank water in between, which is a no no I am pretty sure. Anyway, thanks ya'll for the help!:wink2:
  14. Ok, so had surgery 12/3. Was 340. Weighted 12/9, 328. I am thrilled. I was on pure liquids; ie. crystal lite, 2 protein shakes a day, broth, water, popsicles. But, I am a fast healer, and really began getting hungry. Called my dietician 12/10, said to start mushies. Mashed potatoes, thicker soups, stay with same liquids. My check up is 12/15. Sooo. the past 2 days I have incorporated egg drop soup, mashed patotatos, 2 cups of mushies aditional, which has helped a lot, but I am 336 today!!!! I cant get on my wii fit, I really just blew my mind.....I am not eating any type of crap food, but how can a gain 8 pounds in two days and not even enjoy it>?:wink2: Any ideas?

Is anyone else COLD all the time?

Yes, hands and feet. My husband and mom laugh and say it's about time, since they call me the "ice queen" I have always been warm. It has been explained to me since the calorie intake has decreased so much since the surgery, your blood sugars and such don't make the "heat" for our bodies we were used to. made since to me happy losing!
