Hi gillian good luck with your stitch out, i couldnt feel it when they took mine out, the nurse did say she could take out the dissolving stitches next week if they are irritating me. Im not looking forward 2 the injection fill myself although i think you did well injecting yourself. How you doing on your weight loss? mine has stood still, dont know if this is normal. Im still only having 1 slimfast, 1 cup a soup and 2 actimel plus loads of water during the day and i feel fine on that im not hungry. x -

Hi everyone iv been 4 my stitch out today, the blue one is where the drain was.. everything has healed very nice, the nurse was impressed how well they look. The dissolving stitches usually take a couple of weeks to go but i can have them taken out if i want. I only got dressings on now to stop the stitches catching on my clothes, other than that there not needed x -

Hi lewisabbeyalyssa the hospital staff were great, they can't do enough for you. You will be in pain for the 1st couple of days which is to be expected after all your having surgery, everyday the pain will be less. Im just over a week of being banded and have no pain what so ever. Hope this helps x -

I thought the blue stitch is where the drain was? i get mine out on mon afternoon... iv already snipped the 'fishing line' stitches as they were quite long. With the pain killers i managed ok with the nurofen melts and found they worked for me, i couldn't stomach the one's you put in water, and i dont like medicine. I can even sleep on my stomach again, thank god. I can start having a decent sleep again x -

Hi sanflan when i was in hospital last week they made us stay on the oxygen for 24hrs as for pain relief, are your painkillers strong enuf. I wish i had stayed the extra night cos i felt like crap, really hot and thought i was going to pass out, they even had to get a 1st aider to me at the airport to see if i was ok to fly.. after 48 hrs i felt much better i still get the trapped wind in my back and my neck and it always seems worse at night, apparently its normal and should go after bwt 10 days. if your unsure bwt anything get checked out by your gp. Hope your feeling better soon x -

Hi sammy its a good idea that you may stay over the extra night, i wish i had. on my pre op i had slim fast in the morning and lunch then a healthy low fat meal for dinner, usaully chicken and veg.. it has to be low fat to make your liver a little smaller which makes the op easier x -
