Hi shoes i also had low blood pressure after my surgery and i think thats why i felt like crap, i would say to you if you dont feel good at the airport on the way home ask them for a wheel chair.. i had one and the porter took me straight through the airport with no queues, that really helped. I think without it i would of fainted. Also do you know you have to take multivitamins? i started taking mine when i started my pre-op and i still take them every day, i have got chewable multivitamins with vit b from holland and barret... they are to help with your hair and nails because your body isnt getting everything it needs after your op because of limited diet, Wouldnt want you getting up one morn with no hair lol x  -

Hi freckles i mean shorty (even tho im 5ft 2) im glad evertything has gone ok for you today and your finally going to get your new band. Frederik told me today about the different size bands they use and said dr chris only knows which one he is going to use when he is doing the op and he can see the size of your stomach.. he said iv got the small one and thats why i could only have a 3ml fill, i seen the notes so i know he was telling me the truth. Good luck with your pre-op diet x -

Good tips on the dressings gillian.. i have been rubbing baby oil into my scares and they have healed nice, they just look like scratches and its cheaper than the bio-oil. I had a cup of soup for my tea and couldnt manage a whole one.. think the fill has done some good but i suppose ill have to wait a few days to see if has worked properly and if i have got any restriction x -

Hi shoes, i would say to you to take nurofen melts for the pain relief.. the painkillers the hospital give you to put in water are awful, i tried putting em in apple juice and it was no better. I found the nurofen helped.. just take one at a time or your mouth froths lol. I dont think i had a lot of pain just stinging in the port area, i just felt crappy after the anaesthetic, anything else just ask x -

Just got back from having my fill.. i dont know why i felt nervous because i didnt feel the injection AT ALL, you can feel the fluid going in a bit but it was nothing. I have had 3ml put in i did ask for 4ml but i couldnt. He shown me my notes on his laptop and the size of my band and how much fill it can take, i have only got a small band because my stomach is small, he said. (yeh like woteva) Im glad i didnt change to go to another clinic and decided to stay with frederik, he has got all our notes in front of him and keeps a record of how we are doing, He was running late cos his flight was 1 1/2 hrs late yet he asked me loads of questions and didnt rush me at all. I met miss flump there, she went in for her 1st fill just after me, we had a bit of a catch up while in the waiting room x -

Hi shoes the day after my surgery i managed to have 1/4 cup a soup and the same on the sun morn b4 our flight home, i couldnt manage any more than that, i did take slim fast with me but just didnt want it. A couple of days after i got home my diet was actimel yoghurt drink for breakfast, 1/2 slimfast for my lunch and 1/2 cup a soup for my tea.. i really couldnt eat any more as that was filling me up and keeping me satisfied. My diet now is actimel drink for breakfast, 1/2 slim fast for my lunch, i have the other 1/2 about 3-4 o clock when i feel a bit peckish and then iv been having salmon and veg most days for my tea.. chewed very well i might ad, i have had poached egg for a change and pasta with bolognese made with quorn, i enjoyed them both. I dont feel that i need or want to snack in between. Some i know are having protein drinks some the slimfast i dont think there is much difference. Hope this has helped x  -

Hi fatpants i had my band fitted 4 weeks this friday and so far i have lost 16lb.. that is including my preop diet. Regarding the fills dr chris says you are ok to have one after 4 weeks but others say 6 weeks.. some of the bansters had fills after 4 weeks and were ok after there's. I think it is up to dr chris or frederik on how much fill they give you, but i will be asking for the max that i am allowed. I have already had to buy a smaller size jeans (yippee) and my tops are starting to look baggy and longer, obviously with the weight loss. I'm really made up with it so far x  -

Hi fatpants im glad your feeling a bit brighter and more positive today.. its always the skinny people who have the bad attitude to people who are over weight, i think i would of punched that woman who told you to go for counselling. Funny how there is money for rehab centres for people who are addicted to drugs or drink even for people who are anorexic, makes you laugh really when they wonder why we go abroad for surgery.. i think they must think lets make money out of the fat people and charge up to £8000 for a band, thankgod for people like dr chris x -

Hi shoes its understandable your friends and family are a little worried.. they would probably worry if you were having surgery in this country but they have the extra worry because your going abroad and they are probably all thinking the worse.. even tho the hospital is cleaner and dr chris is more experienced than most in this country, i didnt tell people because i didnt want their negative attitude or people thinking i was cheating because i was having the band, some people can be cruel x -

Hi sammy77 i did go and speak to my dr who was very supported and who offered me after care with dietician if i want it.. she was just sorry i couldn't have the surgery over here. My partner was brilliant and im sure thats one of the reasons i have recovered so well, i also live in a small village but my dr is fantastic and helped me a lot over the past couple of years especially after i lost my mum.. im sure once you speak to him properly he will be supportive x -

Finally had my dissolving stitches taken out (they wasnt very quick at dissolving) the nurse was very impressed with the way the cuts have healed..there just a little dry so i'll rub bio oil (recommended) into them. I cant believe im not even 4 weeks post op and how well everything is going. I would definitely recommend this op to anyone thinking about it and i wouldn't think twice about going back to dr chris for any future surgery i will need x -

Hi fatpants, i think some time or other we have all felt how you are feeling.. i dont think your sister was very helpful with what she has said to you, being honest i dont think people understand how we feel and why we turn to food in the 1st place.. food is like a drug but one that is not recognised, were just called fat and lazy. its a vicious circle the more you eat the bigger and more down you feel and it is difficult to get out of this cycle, and thats why we have chosen to have a bit of help with the band. tomorrow is another day so i hope you feel a bit more positive.. it wont be long till your time is here for your band, you will be surprised how quick the time goes then you can leave this part of your life behind and start looking forward to a new you, chin up were all thinking about you xx
