Hi gary, the decision about going to belgium for ultra sound is up to you but if it was me i think i'd leave it for a while and see how things go, or at least till you have your next fill, by the time your fill comes round it may of gone down in size again. You could end up paying the extra money out when you dont really have to. Let us know what you decide x

Hi perky and welcome to the forum, anything in particular you want to know we will try and answer. I think it would do you good to read past threads you will find that a massive help, i got my band fitted in january and being honest its the best thing i have ever done...i would recommend dr chris and his team to anyone looking into having a band fitted. The only thing i would say to you is to stay a day longer in belgium after your op, i really wish i had, i think that extra day would of made all the difference, just ask away how ever big or small we will try and help x

Hi fatpants, im sorry your feeling the way you are but im sure it will all pass, i do still get the wind pain in my shoulder.. not as bad as it was, i just take rennie and it seems to help. iv tried everything else and that seems to help me best. I wouldnt worry about your weight and scales at the minute, the weight is only going to go one way and thats down. Regarding your fluid intake..i carry a drinks bottle around with me wherever i go, if i go shopping or visiting friends i always have my bottle with me, i never drink anything else. Have you tried the dutch crisp breads? its worth a try and might take the dizzy feeling away, i have mine with a bit of philadelphia light on if i feel i need something.. i think they would be better than the chops lol. i still havnt tried anything like that yet. Things will improve, hopefully you will see a difference everyday x

Hi cantweight, i hope your family come round to the idea and give you the support you want and need, i think people worry more because your going to belgium for surgery, talk to them and once you tell them you have done LOADS of research into the surgeon and the op itself and spoke to post op patients im sure they will change there minds, hope so anyway x

Hello and welcome lisa, it is a bit confusing but you will soon get your head around it, the band is there as a tool to help you lose weight and to keep it off, i think most of us on here has dieted over the years lost weight and always put it back on and more. The band is like a bicycle wheel that is deflated..it then has a saline liquid injected into it which will inflate the band.. this is done over the months after your band,(it has to be done slowly as not to over fill which would result in you not being able to eat or drink and would need a unfill) this will only let you eat small amounts and feel fuller for longer, you can still eat chocolate as that melts so the band is not a quick fix miracle cure you still have to work hard and watch what you eat, im so glad i had my band fitted and i know it was the right decision for me as i have tried every diet going and more for over 20 years, i dont think there is anyone who regrets having there's.. maybe we all thought 'we've got the band the weight will fall off'. They say it could take between 12 months and 2 years to lose all your weight..iv waited a long time so im sure i can wait a little more, any questions you have ask away we are all here to help any way we can x
