I'm a nubie to forums and blogging so please be patient with me. I live on Oahu and I'm trying to decide between banding and Bypass. The doctors that I'm seeing seem to want to push Bypass over the Band and I'm trying to understand their reasoning. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who lives in Hawaii who has been banded, how long, how much weight have you lost, who did your surgery, etc. Thanks! Helilover

Aloha MacMadame! I'm that friend on Oahu that JSOTO sent you the message about. Which island are you on? Did you have your surgery on Oahu? What doctor/hospital did you go to and what is your honest opinion of them? I have an appt. at Queen's on the 24th for a consult to discuss band vs Roux-en-y. They seem to really want to push bypass over band and that concerns me.
