want to loose more more more lol
Lady Lap Band replied to sevenb07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How many calories per day are you consuming? I'd suggest figuring out what your BMR is (how many calories you burn per day just living). If you aren't eating less calories than your BMR without exercise you aren't going to do much other than maintain. I lost 103lbs without excessive exercise. I walked alot and did these circuit training videos (15 minutues) http://www.amazon.com/Personal-Training-Jackie-Power-Circuit/dp/B002L6HDAQ The more muscle you have the more calories you burn in your ever day. Also, if you aren't drinking Water your body is retaining Fluid because you aren't giving it any. If you start to drink water it will release the water it's holding on to and you should lose some weight! GL! -
Well I wouldn't drink anything. It always makes it worse for me. Usually just time and maybe walking around makes things move a little for me. If it is stuck you'll feel a release when it finally goes through, at least I do. If the chest pain becomes unbarable I'd call your doc. GL!

Blogs...do they make you more successful?
Lady Lap Band replied to Junebug36's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My blog did help me in the begining. Then life got crazy and I didn't have time for it and the closer to my goal I got the less exciting blogging felt. If you don't feel like blogging I think you can acheive the same feeling it would give you on this board. -
How do you get rid of bat wing arms?
Lady Lap Band replied to rayanne's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is hard to do because your skin won't always bounce back. Building muscle can help though! Check out this curcuit training DVD http://www.amazon.com/Personal-Training-Jackie-Power-Circuit/dp/B002L6HDAQ It's the best I've ever done and you can do 15 minute workouts. Slowly increase your weights over time and it should help you out! -
I’ve been banded for 5 years now and my assumption would be your starting to get comfortable and like you suggested your probably eating too fast and too much. I have been doing the same thing lately and throwing up all the time. I’m trying my best to stop now because I’d hate to have my band slip.

Hey all! I'm still around if anyone wants to chat shoot me an email! brepri_h@verizon.net

I have not had a fill or unfill in like a year and had been able to eat mostly what I wanted. I’ve been exceptionally tight for like the last few weeks. Now my period is supposed to start and it hasn’t and I’m not even crampy. Anyone else get a really tight band in very early pregnancy? I’m going to test if I don’t start soon.

Confession: I fell off the wagon 4 1/2 yrs post op!
Lady Lap Band posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey All, I had my surgery 4 ½ years ago and as of July/Aug. 2012 was down 103lbs! However right after that time I had a lot of stresses added to my life and COMPLETELY fell off track and right now am up 24lbs! Hoping to find some others out there with a similar situation whom I can commiserate with and perhaps work with to encourage each other to get back on track! =) -
Hi everyone!! My name is Breanne, if you want to learn more about me you can check out my blog (link below). I'm putting together a "get together" for New England Bandsters. It's so nice to hear that I am not alone in this. I wish we hadn’t fallen off but am so glad we are here to support each other. My biggest issue is needless snacking, I have to find a way to conquer it! -

Hi All, I really don’t think we are in the minority here and our doctors I’m sure are used to their patients gaining weight back. I too have not been to any doctor in a long time because I’m waiting to “get back in shape”. I’m going on a cruise 16 weeks from this Saturday and I’d really like to lose 20lbs by then. I think I can do it but I’d have to be VERY diligent. I’m just going to take it 5lbs at a time as I’ve always done better with smaller numbers in the past. My biggest problem is the mindless eating. food can’t be a free for all anymore. I really wish that instead of a nutritionist being mandatory when you’re going through the lap band approval steps that they’d require a therapist instead or at least in addition to. I have always thought I would have greatly benefited by that. =) Thanks to all for sharing, so happy not to be alone!!! =) -

It really can happen to anyone. People who don’t understand Lap Band think it’s a quick fix and the easy way out but it’s really not. The moment I got too busy to make my health the priority, I gained a bunch of weight back. I’d really like to hit my goal of 138lbs (which I never made it to) in the year 2014, which is 35lbs away. I think that is doable! I kept track of all my fills for so long but forgot to write down the last time I was there but it was definitely early 2013. I’ve actually been really tight lately, pretty sure it’s due to the cold I’ve had. Whenever I’m sick it affects my restriction for some reason. Regardless I’ve been eating things that slide through, once I change that bad habit I’ll be good to go! When were you banded? I was banded June 19, 2009 when I was 22 yrs old. I just turned 27! =) -
Thanks so much! I’m not doing too shabby but hopefully I will find a few more supporters to vote! =) Thanks all!

Hey all!! My name is Breanne, I was banded in 2009 and have been on lapbandtalk since I 2008. I am happy to have found an off topic area because I really need some help from my fellow bandsters and didn’t want to post this in an inappropriate thread. I’ve been singing since I was 10 years old but when I got up to 252lbs I gave it up entirely because of my low self esteem. In 2011 after being banded for 2 years I started singing again because I started to believe in myself and I regained some confidence! I’m in a song writing competition right now, and I’m hoping you won’t mind me asking if you’d consider voting for me? My whole name is Breanne Primeau and the song is called “Take the First Step” and the lyrics are very symbolic of my weight loss journey. Here is the link to vote http://openmicus.competitionalley.com/vote You can vote once for every email address you have! Thank you so so so much for all your support on my journey, you all rock! =)

So I was banded June 2009, almost 4 years ago. I lost 103lbs and then in December of 2012 had 1cc taken out of my band due to being too tight. I decided that I was going to try and do it on my own for a while and I failed! I weighed in and saw I gained 19lbs! What! Yup, 19lbs I said. I knew I gained but didn’t think it was that much, I was horrified so I went in for a fill the other day to get back on the band wagon. I can’t believe it still! Just when you think you can do it all on your own and you get so use to the band that you think it’s all you, it’s not! Just wanted to send put this post out there so those who’ve gained a little weight back don’t feel so alone! I know you’re out there and we are in this together!! =)
-
ohhh thank you thank you to both!!!! I knew I could count on my lap band family for their support!!! thanks again!!
-
Congrats on being newly banded!!! I love banded life as well........dont let yourself get so busy like me that you forget about taking care of yourself! =)
-
I hear ya! I really forgot the band was helping me so much so I thought "i wont go back for another fill, I will try this on my own" and well you can see how that turned out haha I made a promise to myself that gaining about 20lbs back was as far as I was going backwards...............ahhhhhh here we go!

From very little restriction to too tight
Lady Lap Band replied to bout-time's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
oh yes for sure! fills are so finicky. personally I've had too many experiences like yours and now I wont get more than .1cc put in at a time to be on the safe side. I'd rather go back ever two weeks and have .1 put in than .5 and have to rush to the ER after hours.....good luck! -
fustrated not losing help
Lady Lap Band replied to Drizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definetly time for a fill! Take it from me I just gained some weight back bc I didn't have enough in there, get yourself a fill and keep up those good habits that have gotten you to where you are already!! -
Thank you for pointing that out it actually did make me feel better! I did miss having that drive and motivation to loose weight and not it's back so that is a good thing at least!!

May be a dumb Question?
Lady Lap Band replied to kng39212's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you probably could do....but not sure how much fun you'd have. you might lack energy....plus your diet is really limited for a long time after surgery..... -
Getting Banded 7/2/13
Lady Lap Band replied to kng39212's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do it! Congrats on getting a date! Focus on a lifestyle change instead of that word “diet” and be on this site everyday for encouragement, you got this! -
I had that experience. They wanted us to loose some weight prior but we aren't on like liquids for two weeks prior or anything like that like I've heard before. Good luck on 6/11!!!
