I had to pay 14,000 to the hospital, 3800 to the doctor & 500 to the anesthesioligist. My insurance would not pay a thing. I even had to pay for most of my pre surgery test!! Anyway I ws banded Nov 19 & i can not wait for the day I can say it was worth every penny of it!!!! -

I am 10 days post op & still on cleasr liquid diet. In 4 days I can move to full liquid diet! Now my question is this I have read people on hear talk about oatmeal cream if wheat & cream soups while they are on full liquid diet. Are these things considered full liquid?? What is the difference between mushies and full liquid then? And then you have solids which is regular food that you just really chew, right?? I am a little confused where does mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes come in? Are they liquid, mushie or solid??? Help please! -
Okay since surgery on Nov 19 I have noticed that my stomach is swollen. Look at it this way if I am walking into a room my stomachs enters at least 3 seconds before the rest of me!!! When will this go down?? I have always carried alot of weight in my stomach it was not flat before surgery by no stretch of imagination!! Anyway how long does this take?

Although it has only been 8 days since my surgery my stomach swellling has gone down alot! It is still mpresent but not near as big as it was day 2 after surgery!!! -
I too had a little diarehhea problem on my 4th day after surgery. It went away on its own though. I have read here you can take ammodium ad if you like. You are probably tired due to not eating anything. I had to do this 2 weeks prior surgery and now 2 weeks after surgery, so I know how you are feeling. I don't have the energy to walk walk walk. i do get up and walk I shower and I lay in bed propped up on 4 pillows. I know this will get better I just look forward to the day i can eat something other than jello,broth,water!!!

What is flagl? The doctor gave me liquid lortab and it has really been just fine. I would definatly be talking to the dr because you sure do not want to be vommitng!! Thank God for your pharmacist!! Good Luck! -

Hi Yall! I had my band placed on Nov 19. I am sore still mostly around the port area. I am on a 2 week clear liquid diet. I am wore out. I think I need protien!!!:laugh: Anyway it is so nice to talk to people that understand what you are going through!!

i am 5 days out of surgery. i am only to have clear liquids for 2 weeks. could anyone advise me what it would hurt if i had a single cup of coffee with cream and sweet n low???? I really just need it right now. -

Today is the fifth day sice my surgery! I woke up from terrible sleep (it is very hard for me to sleep on my back),but i got up to go to the restroom and then to the kitchen and i noticed i was not mouning getting up & down. I was walking a little faster than I did yesterday which is alot faster than the day of surgery!! I am on the road to recovery!! Just wish I could have a cup :tt1:of coffee with cream and sugar!!! Does anyone know why that would hurt me?? -

Good Luck with your surgery! I had mine on Wednesday and it is Sunday i am at home. I walk around my house and do littllest things that need to be done. My mother has come over and done 2 loads of laundry for me which was great:tongue2: You will not fill like doing a whole lot just walk rest & nap.Food is not an issue right now just water jello and broth but you really don't want much of it. I know everyones is different i just hope this helps:tt1: -
I had my surgery onNov 19 & am on clear liquids for 2 weeks:cursing: I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks prior to surgery as well. On the third week I can have all liquids, Then on the 4th weeks i can start mushies. I would kill for even a bowl of cream of chicken soup right now!!!

Surgery date was Nov 19.....everything has been what was expected until now....okay here goes i have been passing my gas like a good girl and man i am embarassed to say it certainly has been a relief:tongue_smilie: Well now my "gas" is no longer gas if you know what I mean. I am running to the bathroom!!!! I have only had water sugar free jello and broth and not alot of any of that!!! Is this normal??:smile2: -
OMG! Did 12,900 cover dr hospital and all? I just paid 21,000 it freaks me out the different amount these doctors charge for the same thing!!!

i had my surgery on Wednesday Nov 19 & I have taken 2 showers. i also have that gllue stuff. Just don;t scrub the area and make sure to pat in dry but ytou can pretty much c;ean everything you can get too!!! Don't worry it wil be fine and you and your family will thank you for it!:cool2: Other than that how are you feeling? I am sore very slow to move around but get better each day!:smile2: -

I too was banded yesterday. And like you I felt okay yesterday but I guess I still had alot of drugs in my system because right now I hurt like he--! I can not get comfortable I feel like I am bloated like my stomach is in my throat area. They sent me home with lortab but it really doesn't help. I can't sleep because I can't get comfortable. Any suggestions????? I am unable to get in the chat room arggggg......... -

you should be able to have as much broth as you like. it is only 15 calories a cup. you should also be able to eat sugar free jello as well as sugar free popsickles.:rolleyes2: -

I am so happy for you! You are very lucky to have insurance that covers your surgery. I had to pay for mine! Good luck on pre-op diet....it takes time to get used to it!

I am also having my surgery on Nov 19. I am a little nervous but just can't wait to start this journey! I went for my pre-op at the hospital today I think all went well. I have to be there at 5:30 am on the 19....not to excited about that! I have been on a all liquid diet for 10 days now it has been tough but I have managed. I have lost 12 pounds which is good I guess but for only having liquids one would think that number would be a little higher.:Dancing_sorry:

I only have 6 days left!:thumbup: I am on day 9 of this liquid only fast. It has sucked but I have made it so far. I am too scared to weigh myself so i don't know if I have lost any weight.:thumbup: Anyway I love to hear from you guys! We have all worked and are working hard to be thinner again!!!:thumbup:
