Hey all! -love from long island

 todays your day! i wish you the best! Rest up and let us know how everything went!
  2. i have recently been thinking about the possibility of having a band to help me loose weight. It was great to come across this site to hear from REAL people REAL situations. I seem to see mostly positive life changes on here and that gives me great hope! My weight has only mildly begun to effect my health (i have PCOS, fast heart rate, experiencing heart palpitations due to hormone imbalance, and most recently a scare that i beleve to be an episode of sleep apnea-even though it felt more like a dream) So even though these symptoms have not become a MAJOR problem as my doctors have said, it is a precursor of what is to come since i am only 30. Thank you all for telling your hearts here... it helps people to know they are not alone... and for people who are thinking about this type of surgery, someone to learn from...

    Off the wagon...

the secret is when you fall off the wagon, dont fall into the cycle! this is the most worthwhile thing i learned from weight watchers... if you continue to focus on the fact that you fell off, you will make yourself upset and these feeling will make you want to eat something "off the wagon" again... thats why most people have a hard time sticking to a diet..FORGIVE YOURSELF and keep going! you've come a long way!!!

What have your experiences been? Help!

This is my first blog on this forum after seeing a cardiologist today for heart palpitations. He said that because i am overweight my body is releasing adrenaline in apporopriatly. (something to do with hormones). Being that i also have PCOS, and a family history of heart problems and diabetes he reccomended that i look into bypass or banding surgery to loose weight since i have not had much sucess with dieting. I feel like i have been given a reality check. The time is now for me to loose this weight... So i have been scouring the internet all day for information, but nothing beats hearing peoples experiances first hand.... Lap band sounds like it might be a good choice for me, but i am praying that a proceedure like this would be covered by my insurance. It seems wherever i look that BCBS seems to cover in most cases people fall into a morbid obese range and i am there unfortunatly. So many questions and yet i feel i should have made this decison a year ago!
