hey guys, i was banded 2/4/09. during my surgery they found some scar tissue in my abdominal walls and i have no idea how it got there as i never had any surgeries in my abdominal area ever as a matter of fact this is my first surgery. i hear most of you are not hungry, but i am starving. i take longer to get stuff down, but this liquid diet is killing me. i am getting ready to dring my protein shake, but i am starving. i had jello, fage yougurt, applesauce znd soup which i hate hot liquid soup...yuk, just brought pudding..help any suggestions? oh yea i too was 10 pds up when i came home on 2/5, but have lost it as of today i down 10pds to.. any suggestionson what to eat. i wonder if i could put a banana in a protien shake at this phase or will it be too thick. i am able to tolerate the liquids just fine. i am really sore after they removed all the scar tissue in my abdominal wall. they sentme home with liquid tylenol 3 with codeine

i started the process on 10/31 where they told me everything i needed to do. There was so much that it was overwhelming, :w00t:but i did everything ASAP.:wink2: as a matter of fact the surgical coordinator told me that i have the record for completing all my test the fastest.:thumbup: i had to do the sleep apnea test, psy and nutrionist before i could get a date. then i had to do a UGI series, abdominal sonogram, echo, stress test, pulmonary function test, and attend a lap band group before the surgery. everything was done by 12/16 and got a date for 2/4 in december:thumbup:. I just got my insurance approval about 2 weeks ago and i am just happy. i have been overweight all my life, but have went up and down also. :crying:i have doing jenny craig for a year and i am 5 pds heavier now then when i started.:confused: i just really wanted to stop the viciuos cycle of the yo-yo dieting. i am so happy and excited just writing this post makes me want to cry when i think of my wieght loss struggle. Weight loss is so dear to my heart because it has been the most challenging thing in my life. i wish you all the best on your surgery as well!!!

ok all my band friends..i will be banded tomorrow and i am doing my bowel prep today and i am starting to feel not only hungry but sick cause i am drinking all these liquids on an empty stomach and just wainting for this miralax to take effect. i am so excited about my surgey but nervous at the same time...i just can wait to see the results. please pray for me that everythigngoes well tomorrow. i am going to finish this bowel prep and then go to bed until it starts to work...nervous i am but nothing is more exciting about finally losing all the weight and taking it all off permanately.

I am 5/3.5 and I then weighed 218. but has gained a few pounds. so now i an 221. but they did not put me on a pre op diet at all.

hey rdavidson, how much do you weigh now? my dr. told me the same thing and i weigh 218 pds... I am vieng banded 2/4/09

Yes I am insurance approved amd will be having my surgery on 2/4/09..pre op testing 1/29/09. i am so excited and so so so happy!!!!:w00t:

:closedeyes:I have gained weight, about 10 pds since my initial consult, thinking that the last weight would be used and not the first. now my insurance requires the 6 mos diet which shows that i have gined the 10 pds. i have hip ny does anyone know if the insurance company will deny me because i have gained instead of losing. i am very concerned about this and nervous. please help!!! thanks:ohmy:

thanks to all of you!!!:mad: at least i am not alone in this venture. i see my surgeon on monday and i am so embarrased that i have gained 13 pds since 10/31/08. but i gain weight fast, but i also lose it just as quick, i just cant seem to stay focus and it is why i have opted for surgery. i do not think my insurance requires a weight loss just documented dr's note. not sure if i am approved or not but i will keep u guys posted..thanks for responding everyone!!!:tt2:

Thanks, i have a date of 2/4/09 and my initial bmi was 37.7 with hypertension whisch i am taking meds for, so u r right i didnt want to drop below the 35 bmi or o knew it was over. i hope you r right i have also given them the dr's note and my documented weight loss efforts at jenny craig i hope this works...CONGRATS TO YOU ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS WHAT A JOB WELL DONE!!!!:wink2:
