  1. Hey there! This is definately not easy. My time of the month is the absolute hardest. We all make mistakes. Just hop back on and start again. GOOD LUCK! Make sure you don't let guilt get you. This is a journey, we are not perfect or we wouldn't be heavy in the first place. God Bless!
  2. Oh Boy!! Does it ever!! I can count on the 2 weeks in between as being great at losing, but the week before and 1/2 the week of are horrible!! The 2 weeks I am so careful. I count those other 2 as gone. I don't gain just maintain what I have lost the other 2, but lose nothing! I was banded Jan. 9th. I can't complain because I've lost 72 pounds now. I just know this is how it is gonna be. I will still try working on it. Any other suggestions from longtime banders????
  3. Hey there!! I live in Florissant. ( 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs.) I am not sure about Colorado Springs, but have an AWESOME doctor up in Denver. Dr. Kirshenbaum: 303-695-1304. He or his P.A have been terrific. He had the lowest cost and his fills are incrediblly low. ( at least for patients, unsure of how much for not, but shouldn't be bad.) I had surgery Jan. 9th 09 and as of today I've lost 71 pounds. Dieing to tel someone that I just hit it this a.m. Feel free to contact me with any questions at all. Hope your trip goes well- Good luck! God Bless!
  4. Hey there! First of all good luck with your decision. I had the band put in Jan. 9th (09). Best thing I have ever done. No more joint or knee issues. Have lost 67 pounds and feel great. I was nervous at 1st thinking of how many times I failed diets before. It is an awesome tool! True if you want to eat around it you can. I have not been perfect, but am so thankful for my band!! I walk 1 1/2 miles every day. Have actually started jogging as much as I can. It is hard work, but changes are incredible!!!

Will I Ever Stop Thinking About Food?!

Lifestyle change is soooooo hard. I know food is my stress releaser. Don't drink- no drugs just food. I think it is the worst. I have done great, banded Jan. 9th lost 64 pounds, but at times it is soooo hard. Prayer really helps. With God all things are possible. I was actually going to post for suggestions on that time per month that is the worst. Food addiction is so hard. UGH!! Good luck!

    plateaus

Hey there! How long have you been plateaud for? I have noticed I lose 5-9 pounds at one time and then kind of just maintain that for a few weeks and then start again. It really doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I am o.k. going with is. Good luck!! Like someone else asked- are u excersing? That really makes a big difference, also.

    frustrated

Yep, just like everyone just said, way normal. I had surgery Jan. 9th and just hit -50 today. There will definately be plateaus along the way. It is frustrating, but just know it is gonna come off. I didn't have any loss for 1 1/2 weeks. Then I made sure I was getting all my protein and vitamins. Upped excersing and kicked in again. Good luck with your journey!!!

    Banded March 6th

Hang in there!!! I thought the surgery was rougher than I thought it would be. Then 8 days later it all was gone and I was much better. The protein shakes and vitamins should help. Did you get a rx for anti nausea? Good luck and hope you feel better!!!
  18. My dr. said definately no pills. He said he had one patient the pill got stuck and he had to go in surgically to remove it. I have been really careful and stopped all mine. Can't imagine trying to afford another surgery at this point. Also, all my books on lapband forbid carbonation at all ever with the band. It does seem Dr.s vary some.

    i am scared

    some nonscale victories so far...

Right there with you! I was banded on Jan. 9th. Go for my first fill tomorrow- Feb. 6th. I have lost 35.5 since Dec. 26th and the change feels SOOOOOOOOOOOO good!! I went swimming with my kids over the weekend and actually beat them in a race. ( it's been a while for that one!!) Self confidence is moving up and I am so much happier. I had been on St. John's Wart for about 9 years and just stopped- Bring on the changes because I am so ready for them to keep coming!

Not hungry but need to eat?????

Hey there! I was banded Jan. 9th. I felt the same way for the first few days. I think it is actually a blessing. Sometimes people r hungry when they come out of surgery. Mine is coming back. I am REALLY REALLY sick of the liquid diet part. Can't wait til it gets better! Goood luck and God Bless!
